31 Meeting Her Father Once Again (I)

When she heard that from her father's mouth, Yan Xiaoran nodded her head even though her father couldn't see her.

She was so glad that her father still hadn't changed and was still the same father he was in her memories.

After talking to him and telling him where to meet up, Yan Xiaoran went out of the room and ran downstairs. Her hair was still wet and dripping off droplets of water as she stepped on the cold surface of the stairs with no slippers on.

The excitement and anticipation she was feeling were tremendous as she couldn't wait to meet her father.

As she reached the last step, Yan Xiaoran took the same path Old butler Zhang has led her to so she could go to the dining hall and say her goodbye to Alexander.

When she got there, Alexander and the other man who argued with her was no longer there. There were only a few maids cleaning up the table.

She saw a young maid piling up the used dirty plate to send to the kitchen and asked, "Excuse me, do you know where Alexander is?"

The young maid was startled to see a beautiful woman asking her and wondered who she was. She was not one of the maids who saw Yan Xiaoran being carried by Alexander and was only tasked to clean up the dishes once the masters and guests are done eating or when the dining hall was empty.

She looked at Yan Xiaoran with careful examination. Judging from the lady's dress, she was not a maid nor someone who broke in the mansion since the other maids and servants who must have passed by her when she was taking the way to the dining hall didn't stop her.

After looking at her, the young maid finally answered, "Master Alexander and Master Long Jie went outside."

"Where did they go?"

The young maid shook her head, "I'm sorry but I don't know.*

"Are they outside the garden?" Yan Xiaoran asked to which the young maid replied, "I don't think so since both masters took the car outside to go somewhere."

Yan Xiaoran sighed and thanked the young maid who answered her questions. She wanted to talk to Alexander before leaving but without him here, she could only leave without saying her goodbye personally.

She wanted to go back upstairs and see Haruka so she could relay her goodbye to Alexander, however, she didn't know where Haruka was currently and worried that her father must have already arrived at their meeting place and must be waiting for her.

Even though it would only take her several minutes to find and talk to Haruka, Yan Xiaoran was too impatient and excited to see her father that she wanted nothing else but to fly to their meeting place so she could meet her father.

She looked like a child that was about to meet her first crush or a child that was so excited on the bus that she couldn't sit still till they arrive at the amusement park.

She looked back and forth to the entrance and the stairs. After a few seconds, she finally decided to head to the modern french iron wrought double doors. As she exits the door, a man wearing a servant's uniform was also about to enter the door.

The servant saw her and looked at her.

Yan Xiaoran put a slight smile on her face and bowed her head slightly as a greeting and the servant greeted back.

Wu Lei recognized the beautiful lady to be the same young lady who ate breakfast together with their master Alexander and looked at Yan Xiaoran respectfully. He knew that their master wouldn't allow anyone aside from his aunt and brothers to dine with him at the same table. However, the young lady before him was able to acquire the right to be included in the few people he allowed to dine with him.

As he was was about to reach her, Wu Lei noticed that Yan Xiaoran was barefooted and was alarmed.

He immediately stopped in his tracks and said, "Miss, you're not wearing anything on your feet. Where are you going?"

Yan Xiaoran only noticed that she wasn't wearing anything on her feet and awkwardly smiled, "Sorry, I was in a hurry. Uh… Can you get me something to wear? Please?"

Wu Lei nodded his head and was pleased to hear her asking him politely unlike other ladies he dated and met.

"Please wait here as I get you something to wear."

"Thank you, uh… it would be nice if it was the shoes I was wearing yesterday." Yan Xiaoran added on.

Wu Lei nodded his head once again and dashed inside to get her shoes. He quickly strode across the place and reached the place where Yan Xiaoran's shoes were after asking a few maids.

After taking the shoes, Wu Lei was a few meters away from the door and when he was about to reach it, a question popped inside his head.

Where's she planning to go? Wu Lei thought as he opened the door and saw that Yan Xiaoran was still standing in front of it

Instead of asking for a pair of slippers, Yan Xiaoran asked for her shoes from yesterday.

Seeing the servant coming back carrying her shoes, she was filled with gratefulness and said her thanks to him.

She wore the shoes and felt comfortable with her feet touching the familiar feeling of her shoes 4-year-old shoes. It was the same shoes she took to the prison and left with it too along with her other garments.

With her maxi dress and sneakers, Yan Xiaoran looked like a trend-setter that was about to go out and take a picture in the park and post it to social media.

After tying up her shoelaces, Yan Xiaoran turned to look at Wu Lei and said, "Thank you so much. I didn't even notice that I was about to go outside barefooted if you didn't tell me."

Wu Lei was once again filled with pleasant feelings as he watched Yan Xiaoran thanking him and refused to accept her thanks since it wasn't that much if a big help.

"Is young miss going somewhere?" Wu Lei couldn't stop himself from asking.

"Yes."

"Oh! Then, I should ask someone to accompany you." Wu Lei offered, however, Yan Xiaoran shook her head.

"There's no need to, but can I ask another favor from you?"
