67. Vampire human experiment

The marketplace, once teeming with life and activity, now wore a more serene and mysterious demeanor. The bustling energy of the day began to fade and the crowd thinned as people hurriedly made their way home. A few individuals have seen an alleyway being blocked by a new wall but as it was just a dead end no one really care to check it out or investigate.

Yet, strangely, despite all the sound and eerie screams happening behind the wall, no one seemed to hear anything.

Inside the alleyway, the air was thick with the stench of blood and fear. Abraham stood in the middle of the alleyway, blood dripping from his fists. The moon, full and bright, cast a pale light over the gruesome scene. Even though there have been a few hours since the moon was out, it was the first time that night, that the moonlight was casting an ethereal glow upon the scene.

It was due to Abraham using the shadow ability to block the screaming from going outside the alleyway.

Lying amidst a pool of crimson, the transformed gangster bore the scars of Abraham's relentless assault. His body convulsed with spasms of pain, his agonized cries echoing through the air. Every inch of his form seemed to throb with bruises, welts, and open wounds, a grim tapestry of suffering etched upon his battered flesh. The life force within him waned, leaving him teetering on the precipice between life and death.

Every time the Strigoi was on the brink of death, Abraham would wait a little for the regenerative trait of the Strigoi to take in. The regenerative was very slow compared to that of a ghoul or vampire but it was doing its job.

Having done enough, Abraham kneeled down next to the Strigoi and activated his dragons eyes. In front of him, the purple aura of the Strigoi was very weak. Using Qi on his eyes, Abraham was able to see the blood energy inside the Strigoi. Holding the Strigoi by the head, Abraham inserted Qi inside the gangster. As he channeled his Qi into the transformed gangster's body, he could feel the resistance, an almost palpable struggle between the blood energy and Qi energy. The Strigoi's red energy resisted the intrusion, its essence pulsating with a malevolent force that sought to repel Abraham's Qi. But with Abraham's large pool of Qi energy, he continued to let his Qi flow. Yet that was just the start. Abraham had to overpower every cell inside the Strigoi.

The vampire blood was like a virus once it enter a human body. During the transformation, it multiplied quickly, trying to take over the body.

Now the mission of Abraham was to reverse this process.

The process unfolded slowly, fraught with uncertainty. Abraham carefully monitored the reactions, adjusting his Qi flow, seeking the delicate equilibrium that would allow his Qi energy to permeate and cleanse every part within the Strigoi.

Seconds turned to minutes, and Abraham's determination remained resolute. He kept encapsulating each possible red energy found inside the body. The dragon eyes were of great help.

Finally, after what looked like an eternity, Abraham was able to get hold of every blood energy inside the Strigoi's body. The red energy was twitching inside the ball of Qi. With a hard pull, Abraham forced the energy outside the Strigoi.

Through the wireframe vision, Abraham saw his Qi getting back inside his own body and a purple aura was hovering on top of his hand. Switching back to his normal vision, Abraham saw a drop of blood. Abraham wondered if it was still the same identical blood he used to transform the gangster or if it has been changing with the gangster's characteristics.

Looking in front of him, the gangster looked the same. It was due to him being covered in bruises and having his face deformed. To confirm the experiment, Abraham used his Inspect skill.

Then just as Inspect Skill finished listing all the detail, Abraham heard a notification.

[The user is the first vampire to return a vampire back into a human. The feat was only once done by a vampire lord but the effect was temporary and had to pay a huge price to become human.]

[Title unlock: The Reverser]

[The Reverser: Allows the user to have better control when blooding a human or reversing the transformation. The chance of the first-time blooded failing is less than 5%. ]

Looking at the title, Abraham did not get a good impression. But anyway, it was better than nothing. The system then prompted the reward notification. But instead of it so showing the result, it looked like the system was still deciding what was worthy for such achievement.

Instead of looking at all these details, Abraham's mind was on another thing. More specifically on hearing the thought of the system Ai.

From the original story, Abraham knew that the AI was in fact his own ancestor; Vincent Eno. He was the one mentioned in the system as the vampire lord to have temporarily transformed into a human. But unlike Abraham, he used another method to convert into a human.

"How... how is it possible? At the same time, it is scary and exciting. You have done something that has never been done before. A feat that would shock even the vampire king. I can't wait to see your journey in the vampire settlement."

"If only I knew about Qi, there were so many great things that I could have done. But I wonder if this reverse process would work for someone born as a vampire instead of a blooded one. I'm sure you will get to test that."

Then another notification rang. Now it was time for Abraham to face the consequence of reversing a blooded family member. He was unaware of how the system would react as such a thing did not happen in the original story.
