Ezra woke up feeling remarkably well rested. He blinked a few times, his sight adjusting almost instantly to the lights on the ceiling.
Through the penthouse's open windows, he could see the beautiful night sky. With his human vision, he wouldn't have been able to see the stars but now, they dotted the sky like sprinkles on a doughnut.
He got up from the couch and stretched, his muscles appreciating the movement after a deep sleep.
Then, he walked to the window, staring up at the dark canvas in front of him. He only had one word for it.
"Beautiful." He whispered to himself.
Even with everything that had happened, he had to admit that it was a privilege to be a vampire. A privilege to interact with the world in a way that most will never experience.
He sighed, his senses expanding. That was when he noticed the mouth-watering aroma wafting from the kitchen.
