Ye Shu promised to attend the offline gathering of monsters, and Liu Youyou naturally felt relieved. She leaned against his arm and smiled charmingly.

Currently, life has become comfortable, mainly because the psychological burden has lightened. Both Ye Shu and Liu Youyou have started to enjoy themselves again.

Liu Youyou sneezed and lightly slapped him, "You, stinky man. You're the one being flirtatious. I just want to be intimate with you. We haven't been affectionate lately because we've been so tense due to solving the ghost-raising technique."

Indeed, to resolve the issue of raising ghosts, the two of them had been living in fear. They only managed to let go of their burdens after dealing with their guilt last night.

Seeing his impatient reaction, Liu Youyou stomped her foot and complained, "You heartless man! You said you found Mr. Tree and wanted to sleep with him. Now, you're not even willing to be affectionate. Are you interested in that little female ghost? I know, that little ghost is so cute, young and beautiful. Men like you love that, hmph."

Ye Shu, holding a knife, was puzzled. "Big sister, why are you suddenly jealous? It's a bit inexplicable."

He shrugged, "I don't understand the thoughts of you women. Just say what you want."

Liu Youyou's thoughts were simple. She just wanted to tease Ye Shu a bit. In the past, it was a habit, and Ye Shu's reactions didn't matter. Now that their relationship was very good, she felt annoyed at Ye Shu's impatience.

After dark, when Ye Shu was about to drip blood on the blood cake, Liu Youyou didn't come out to demand it. It seemed like she was genuinely upset.

Aiqier asked in confusion, "Big brother, where's the fox spirit?"

Ye Shu laughed and made up some words. Aiqier stopped asking and hurriedly went out. She was about to start her "nightlife" and play with dogs on Changning Street.

"You, get out. You really make me angry," Liu Youyou exploded, kicking him. Ye Shu laughed and grabbed Liu Youyou's little leg, saying, "Just kidding. Actually, I understand. I won't be impatient with you anymore. You've been through a lot these years, and living with me requires care. Am I right?"

Hearing this, Liu Youyou, who was originally angry, turned her head and a sweet smile appeared on her face, "Forget it, I won't argue with you anymore. It's your loss if you're impatient. Others would love it if I acted spoiled. I won't bother with you."

"Scared me! Thunder at this late hour. It's probably going to rain. Your gathering tomorrow might be affected," Ye Shu said, looking outside. A lightning bolt made him squint.

This thunder came at a perfect time,

 resolving Ye Shu's embarrassment and dispelling the ambiguous atmosphere.

Ye Shu waved his hand and said, "It seems like there'll be a heavy rain. Better sleep early. It's best to sleep during rainy days."

He didn't care if it thundered or rained. As a human, he was accustomed to thunder, especially in the summer. Suddenly hearing it was common and made the ears ache.

However, Liu Youyou was terrified to the extreme. Shaking, she said, "Don't go."

She sounded different, as if a human saw a terrifying ghost.

Ye Shu was surprised, looking at her, "What's wrong? Are you afraid of thunder?"

As soon as he finished speaking, another thunderous sound shook the room, and Liu Youyou shivered. "Don't go. Don't hug me. Just lie beside me. I'm too afraid of thunder."

Ye Shu scratched his head and lay down again. Liu Youyou moved aside, creating distance between them. For a while, neither of them spoke.

There were many thunderclaps, and lightning continuously lit up the bedroom through the window.

Lying there awkwardly, the atmosphere became increasingly uncomfortable.

Ye Shu felt a bit awkward. While he was thinking, Liu Youyou turned around and said, "Forget it, just hug me. You humans are strange. I've never felt so awkward before."

Ye Shu felt the same. Carefully, he moved closer, reaching out to hug Liu Youyou.

With her back to him, Liu Youyou couldn't see his face. Now, the atmosphere seemed less awkward. Both of them secretly sighed in relief.

At this moment, another lightning bolt flashed, illuminating the entire bedroom.

Ye Shu's mood had just started to calm down, but he saw a ghostly figure standing at the window, staring directly at the two of them.

Ye Shu screamed in fright, his scalp tingling, and his whole body covered in goosebumps. He rolled off the bed. Liu Youyou also saw it, and she almost simultaneously screamed, rolling back and falling off the bed with Ye Shu.

"What the hell is that?"

Liu Youyou trembled and said in shock. Ye Shu was covered in goosebumps and said in terror, "Something is there."

He took a deep breath, looking at the window, where the ghostly figure was still present, a pair of double ponytails hanging beside her ears.

Xiao Leng.

Ye Shu cleared his throat and called out to Xiao Leng, "Xiao Leng."

Xiao Leng had no reaction. Her expression remained twisted, and her eyes stared blankly at the two people. Aiqier took out her phone's flashlight in panic.

Now with stable light, both of them saw Xiao Leng clearly. She stood by the window, seemingly lost in memories. Her eyes had no focus, and her face showed an almost contorted expression of fear and anger, which was creepy.

Ye Shu and Liu Youyou exchanged glances, both noticing the unease in each other's eyes.

Ye Shu cautiously stood up and called out again, "Xiao Leng."

Xiao Leng didn't respond, her expression still twisted. She seemed unable to focus her eyes.

"Xiao Leng."

Ye Shu raised his voice, but Xiao Leng shivered all over, and her gloomy eyes flickered for a moment. Then, she disappeared instantly.
