7 Let's get to know her

Hours felt like an eternity and Cullen, Lucian's doctor finally walked out of the emergency room with the nurses pushing Seraphina's bed out of the room towards her ward.

"What's wrong with her?" Lucian asked as Culled pulled off his surgical mask.

"Don't you know she has a heart issue?" Cullen asked with a raised brow. It was very unusual of DGE not to have any information about an employee's health, especially an employee the CEO looks quite interested in.

"She didn't submit any information and Gabriel didn't find any either." Lucian replied as he walked down the hallway with Cullen. "She must have hid it from everyone."

"Yes. She probably must have." Cullen halted abruptly, causing Lucian's to glance back at him. "Sadly, we don't have any cure to her heart disease."

"What do you mean you don't have a cure? You always have a cure." The look on Lucian's face was both of surprise and confusion which he tried to hide but seemed impossible to.

"Only one person has ever been recorded to have that kind of heart issue and has been a mystery ever since. No one knows about the person either to he able to study it." A heavy sigh escaped his lips before he placed his hands on Lucian's shoulder.

"Her pills will be able to keep her going for now. Nice to see my friend is finally taking an interest in a woman. From day one, you look into her." Cullen nudged him gently before walking away.

A hearty chuckle escaped Lucian's lips before he walked over to the balcony. The wind found its way through his hair as he stared down at the bright city.

It has been years since he last felt this attracted to anyone and his body and soul was acting faster than he could comprehend. His body's way of showing he secretly cared for her was betraying his original act.

Curiosity filled his mind as he thought about her heart condition again. Why didn't she tell anyone about it?

Lucian jumped from the 100 storey tall building and landed straight on his feet before dashing through the nearby alley. His eyes turned red with blood lust as he kept on running through the night.

Sounds of machine beeping were heard from a distance as Seraphina slowly opened her eyes. She couldn't remember the surroundings at all and didn't remember coming there.

"She's awake." A feminine voice made her look towards the door where a handsome looking man in white coat stepped in.

"When did she wake up?" He asked the nurse who gave him a direct answer. "Are you okay, Miss Seraphina?"

"I… I guess I am. Where am I?" She asked as the maid helped her sit up in bed. "What's the date?"

"You are in DGE hospital, miss. You fell unconscious back in the office and someone from the office brought you here." Cullen explained as he removed his glasses and secured it in his coat's pocket. "And you've been unconscious for fourteen hours."

"Oh my goodness." Seraphina panicked for a moment and Cullen tried his best to calm her down. "Father." She whispered as she tried getting out of bed but he stopped her.

"You can't leave now. You are still under close examination. We called your emergency number over and she should be here soon…"

"Seraphina." Immediately the door gave way, Jenna rushed into the room, looking worried. "Oh my goodness. Do not kill yourself, you're the only one I have."

Jenna pulled her into a tight hug and as Cullen set his eyes on her, his fangs forced their ways out. He tried his best to control himself but it was to no avail.

Cullen dashed out of the room immediately to avoid doing what he wasn't to do.

"We have to go home now. What about father? I didn't go home last night…"

"Immediately they called me, I went over to him to prepare everything for the day for him. His caregiver is there too, so no need to worry about him for now. We have to focus on your health now." Seraphina sighed heavily, releasing the tension in the air.

Jenna stayed by her side all day and she was finally asked to leave in the evening. Lucian's car was parked on the other side of the road as he watched her get into the Uber with Jenna.

"What are you going to do about her now boss?" Gabriel's voice came from the passenger seat..

"Get all her files ready for me by tomorrow. And find more information about her before tomorrow." Lucian commanded in an authoritative tone.

Gabriel got out of the car with a small hum and Lucian drove off, following the Uber which just picked Jenna and Seraphina up.

His car stopped two some meters away from the location Seraphina got out of the car. A small smile appeared on her lips as she waved at Jenna, before walking into the building which was obviously an orphanage.

"What is she doing at an orphanage?"
