I'll get you a new phone

Seraphina slowly opened her eyes and the sounds of machines beeping filled her ears from a distance till it was very near. One of them seemed to be beeping very uncontrollably and the door flung open. Naomi walked in, examining the machine. She hurriedly pulled off the strap around Seraphina's arms.

"What's… what's going on?" She asked with a faint voice. "Where am I?" Weakness was evident in her voice and Naomi didn't say a word and just examined her till Lucian rushed into the room with a bright look on his face.

"You're awake." He said pulling her into a hug and she winced in pain, which made him slightly push her away. "I'm so sorry." He apologized and Naomi hit his head slightly.

"I told you not to add any pressure on her body." She said as she looked at Seraphina with a small smile. "I am Naomi, your doctor."

"What happened to me?" Seraphina asked, looking at Lucian. Lucian looked up at everyone and they walked out of the room so the duo could talk. "Is something wrong? Is something wrong with me?"

"No, not at all. I am sorry for putting you in this mess. You know as the leader of this clan I would have a lot of enemies after me. They were the one responsible for the incident that happened at the hospital three days ago…"

"Three days?" She asked with panic in her voice. "Where is my father? How is he?"

"For his safety I have asked them to take him to the Van del Turo family's secret hospital here in the clan. He would be safe here and free from any attacks. But since they say you with me, I want to be sure they want nothing from you and just want me." He explained to her and she looked at him like he was spewing nonsense but she didn't say a word. "You just have to trust me on this one. I am not kidnapping you to make you my blood bank."

He pushed himself up, walking towards the door. "I have never had human blood." He stated before walking out of the room and just as he walked out, Naomi walked in, closing the door behind her.

"So you are his secretary eh." She said as she picked up a pair of gloves to wear. "He seems to care for you more than a boss cares for his secretary."

"What do you mean by that?" Seraphina asked, as Naomi prepared the tools she would be needing for her check up.

"You are so innocent and naive, Seraphina." She chuckled, requesting her to pull open her shirt. As Seraphina saw her stitched body, she gasped. "No need to worry about it at all. It would probably be gone in two to four weeks but before then, do not add too much pressure on it to worsen it." Naomi explained as she wiped the blood coming from the stitches.

"What kind of pressure will worsen it?" Seraphina asked her.

"Clothes covering your chest tightly." Naomi said. "And bras." Naomi dropped everything she was holding in the tray immediately she said that.

"What do you mean I have to wear no bras? I am in a house with men now." Seraphina protested and Naomi chuckled.

"Trust me, the only person you should be worried about is Lucian. The rest of the men wouldn't dare." Naomi said as she wiped the wounds clean. "I'll come check on it again tomorrow morning before and after your bath. And before I forget, I would advise you to wear these kinds of shirts alone. You can ask Lucian for more of his shirts. I'm sure he would be glad to give you more."

Naomi's teasing made butterflies rise in her tummy and she didn't know why but as soon as she left the room, she remembered her phone. She tried searching for it and finally found it in her bag where she turned it on.

As soon as it went on, a message from an unknown number sent her a message. "I might not know where you are, Seraphina. But I promise you, I will find you." The text read with a bandaged heart.

Just reading it sent shivers down her spine and as she was still thinking about it, Lucian walked into the room and saw her bothered look. "I'm sorry, the door wasn't locked." He said as he took the phone from her and saw the message that just came in. "Do you know this person?" He asked and I shook my head negatively.

A frown settled on his lips as he tossed the phone to Gabriel who was standing next to him with a bowl of soup. "Get rid of the phone. Do not worry, I will get you a new one in a few hours." He assured her before mumbling loud enough for Gabriel to hear. "Search the phone."
