She stopped halfway through her speech. She looked torn, hesitant, and daunted. Her expression gave away her mixed feelings.
The other secretaries were intrigued.
"What is it? Go ahead."
With a pile of documents in her arms, she raised her right hand to tuck a few strands of hair behind her ear and bumbled, "I might have seen… something sensational…"
Her behavior was mysterious, and her words invited gossip. "What is it?"
A male secretary in the office laughed, "Sensational things are juicy."
"Tell us about it. We're colleagues and friends. No one will rat you out." A younger female secretary urged her.
It was hard to keep the secret anyway.
The listeners had no pressure.
It was not them who spread it anyway.
More and more people joined in to urge her.
The female secretary itched to tell them and thus soon gave way to their persuasion.
