Their unusual... date!?

MY UNUSUAL ROMANCE

Chapter 11

Time flies by and it's already been the weekend since that text message. Eileen attempted to ask Olivia about the meaning behind that word. According to her, she wanted to surprise Eileen, hence the secrecy. Just- what place is this pleasurable???

Eileen decided to wear something casual. After picking from her wardrobe, she wore a cute, light blue floral dress that fluttered just above her knees. Underneath the dress is a lacy black shorts that's suitable for her fair skin. She just found these luscious shorts online and subconsciously bought them. Pleasurable comes into her mind again.

'Snap out of it!' She slapped both of her cheeks as if it could slap away the lascivious thoughts.

Unlike her usual hairstyle, she styled her hair in a chunky fishtail braid for this day. She grabbed her sling bag and placed the sling over to her right shoulder. Inside the bag are her personal valuables such as her phone, wallet, mirror, and a small make-up set. Now, she's ready to go to their meeting place.

When she arrived, she saw Olivia standing under a big tree on the street. Her hair is beautifully done, flowing smoothly through the breeze with a small braided bun at the side of her head. She wore a white turtle neck blouse underneath the slightly loose pink dress. A black stylish vest was draped around her shoulders. On her one hand, she carries her black purse. Olivia's outfit looks so luxurious as if she just walked out from some fancy dinner party!

Eileen admired Olivia from afar first before advancing towards the looking rich young miss.

"Liv! You… You look fabulous today! So fancy..!" She eyed Olivia from head to toe, trying to figure out how to match Olivia's ravishing outfit with her casual clothing.

"You look beautiful as well, cute." She complimented in a calm manner that made Eileen's cheeks go red.

"Thank you.."

Olivia nodded and reached out for her purse to grab something. She pulled out two rectangular papers that looked like movie tickets then showed it to Eileen in a prideful manner. Though, her face is still expressionless. "Father got me these tickets when he was working. I found out that there's an ongoing musical play around this area. Those who have seen the play told me it was worth the watch."

Eileen silently stared at Olivia for a while, not knowing what to say. The pleasurable comes into her mind again.

It seems that she misunderstood… Of course, how could she forgot that Olivia loves watching Musical Plays!? This is actually what she meant by pleasurable!

She gave an awkward smile and formed a 'thumbs up' gesture in front of Olivia. "Well then, what are we waiting for? Let's watch the play."

Inside the Opera House has magnificent columns and walls with detailed golden structural designs at the edges. There are also hanging red velveteen curtains up on the ceiling. Thousands of seats are accommodated at the centre base and the upper base of the Opera. At the side, there are also people residing in private boxes that are stacked vertically. The front of the audience seating is the stage where actors and actresses perform.

The characters on the stage are singing and dancing in their flamboyant costumes. On the orchestral pit are the musicians who provided for the music background that matches with the scenes of the play. The set is also made realistically so that the audiences feel they're also in the scene. The play is actually good, so professionally done.

Eileen glances slightly at Olivia's side profile, her eyes focusing intensely on the performance. Her face looked as indifferent as ever, as if nothing could move her heart at all. It's cold.

Just like her lips

A hand suddenly held on top of Eileen's, caressing it awkwardly. She took a glimpse at Olivia again. In people's eyes, it seems that she spent her full attention on the play in front of them. But, Eileen knew that under the facade is an awkward little girl trying to delicately hold her lover's hand.

Although Olivia's hand emits a cold sensation, it was able to blend the fire within Eileen's heart, mixing both hot and cold that turned into steam. It's hot and humid at the same time.

Eileen intertwined hands with Olivia, just like the hot and cold that interweaved. No doubt that they're complete opposites, lines that must be parallel to each other. And yet, they unexpectedly found a connection in between those gaps.

When the play ended, the two left the Opera House while holding each other's hands. They walked together continuously with no destination in mind. No one spoke a word. It's as if they already knew what they're going to say. However, one still has to speak to avoid feeling uneasy.

Olivia spoke first. "How was the play?"

"It was amazing." She replied.

"I hope you didn't feel any discomfort."

"I didn't…! I enjoyed it so much."

"I see. I'm glad you enjoyed our first date then."

"Yeah…"

"..."

"..!" Wait- what??? A date!?

This was actually their first date!? Olivia actually asked her out on a date!? Why didn't anyone inform her!? She was actually on a date- WITH OLIVIA!?!?

If she knew that Olivia meant to ask her on a date, she would've prepared herself in a most presentable way! No wonder Olivia dressed so fancy. She just thought that going out to watch a musical play was their usual hang out together as friends. Ah… what a horrible person she was, treating this date as their usual hang out!

Olivia noticed her friend's long silence before speaking. "Now that I think about it, I didn't clearly state that I was asking you on a date. Sorry… was I too hasty?"

"N-no! No! I'm actually glad this is a date, I enjoyed it! I should be the one to apologise, I didn't realise your intention…"

Olivia smiled slightly. "Were you surprised?"

Eileen chuckled softly. "I would be lying if I said I wasn't."

Eileen raised her arms in the air and embraced the person in front of her. The hug caught Olivia off guard and was too stunned to move. Maybe after a few seconds did she finally take Eileen into her arms, hugging her tightly. She knew right at this moment that she couldn't let go.
