Chapter-26 Spy Ghost

Kaizo gained a little fan girl and finally returned to the Ravenclaw Tower with heavy steps. Even late at night, he still had to face the problem of answering the riddle of the magic eagle.

"What can be owned but not shared?"

Kaizo was already very tired, but such question didn't bother him.

"Loneliness."

The door opened, and Kaizo couldn't wait to get in. After running all night and seeing the Cerebrus, he missed his soft dormitory bed more than ever.

Suddenly, he stopped.

He felt as if someone was staring at him. However, after looking around, he couldn't find anyone. Not even a ghost. But Kaizo believed that this inituition was not wrong.

After learning about the prophecy specialization magic in Astronomy class, Kaizo discovered that he had received some sort of strange foresight magical power.

His foresight magic will appear from time to time and give him some inituitive hints that are correct most of the time. For example, the time when he noticed Peeves arrival ahead of time.

This is the prophetic power of the Arcane Magic system. So he drew his wand. In order to provide convenience for students who like to read, the magic candles in the Ravenclaw common room are kept all night long. Kaizo can therefore see his surroundings very clearly.

In the direction of the window sill, the blue curtains were blowing in the wind, and it was obvious that there was no one behind them. The ceiling and carpet which are decorated with stars are also clearly visible.

Bookshelves, chairs, fireplaces,

Kaizo glanced around and found no trace of anyone. The night was very quiet, with the occasional sound of wind coming from the window.

The tranquility of the night was very beautiful, but Kaizo could only feel chills on his body. Even though everything has been checked, the feeling of being stared at hasn't gone away.

Eventually, Kaizo's attention came to the white marble statue of Rowena Ravenclaw. Judging from the statue, she was indeed a beautiful witch. Young wizards always find her tense expression intimidating, but Kaizo can feel her seriousness for knowledge.

The best thing is that this statue was created with ingenuity.

No matter from which direction you look at the statue, Rowena Ravenclaw's penetrating eyes seem to be staring at you. After walking around the statue, Kaizo was finally convinced that the one staring at him was in this direction.

"I know that you are hiding in this statue, come out quickly."

Kaizo pointed his wand at the statue of his House's founder. However, there was no response. Unfortunately, today's Kaizo has not learned any magic for reconnaissance. But he immediately remembered that he was not only a magician, but also a psychic. What better way to detect such intangibles than psychic energy?

[Psychic Communication: Ability to communicate psychically with non-hostile intelligent creatures.]

Feeling the sudden increase in psychic power, Kaizo was overjoyed and immediately used his newly learned [Psychic Sight].

At that moment, he discovered that his spiritual power seemed to be separated from his body and spread to his surroundings. No entity could stop the penetration of his spiritual power, and everything within the range was under his control.

As the telekinesis field spread forward, he felt the presence hidden within the Ravenclaw statue.

It was a spirit body(ghost) with an unknown magical force.

"Ms.Grey?"

Kaizo asked using the power of telepathy.

"Is that you? Kaizo Grindel? What kind of magic are you using to talk within my mind?"

Even though Ms.Grey was already a ghost, she was still shocked by Kaizo's by ability to talk in her mind.

"Telepathy, the power of the mind, Ms.Grey."

After explaining, Kaizo asked again:"Now that I have discovered you, Ms.Grey, can you tell me why you are hiding in the statue and spying on me?"

"Sorry, I'm just curious about you."

Seeing that she had been exposed, the female ghost quickly floated out of the statue. Ms.Grey is Ravenclaw House's ghost, like her mother Rowena, she is also tall and beautiful.

But unlike her mother's serious and wise temperament, Ms.Grey is slightly arrogant. She almost never spoke to students feom other houses, only occasionally answering some questions for the eaglets.

"Kaizo Grindel, I know of you. You are the best student of our Ravenclaw in the past few years. Many professors praise you as a genius. But now, I know that you are even more talented than they imagined."

As she said this, Ms.Grey clung to the statue, as if she would hide in it if something went wrong.

After hearing this, Kaizo could somewhat understand her attitude. Ms.Grey seemed to think of him as similar to that person. Decades ago, this female ghost had a very bad experience, which made her wary of talented students like Kaizo.

"I understand, it turns out that you have spying on me from inside the statue."

Kaizo words made the female ghost blush in embarrassment, even though ghost's bodies are gray.

"In fact, the magic spell I used was created by myself. Everyone has their own secrets. No one stipulates that little wizards can't create spells, right?"

"But what I'm most curious about is, how did you end up inhabiting the statue of Ms.Rowena Ravenclaw?"

Kaizo's rhetorical question hit the nail on the wall. Through his psychic ability, he could feel the the panic in the other person's heart after hearing his question.

"I...I just wanted to pay my respects to Ms.Ravenclaw…I admire her very much."

Ms.Grey's words were no longer as strong as before.

Kaizo revealed her lies straight away.

"No, you don't just admire Ms.Ravenclaw. It's impossible for a ghost to live in a founders statue just because of admiration."

"You are not the real Ms.Grey. Your true identity is Ms.Ravenclaw's daughter, Helena Ravenclaw."

"How do you know this?" Ms.Grey or rather Helena asked in surprise.

Of course it's because I've read the damned original novel.

Of course, Kaizo couldn't say that:"I actually guessed it."

"Guessed it?"

"I know Muggle history." Kaizo explained:"Ms.Jane Grey was the grand neice of Henry VIII and the Queen of England who only reigned for 13 days. The date of her death was February 12, 1554, but according to "Hogwarts:A School History" You appeared in the castle much earlier than that era."

"So you can never be the real Ms.Grey. Thinking of your similar appearance to Ms.Ravenclaw, and your strange relation with the Bloody Baron, I made a bold guess that that are Ms.Ravenclaw's daughter."

Listening to the eleven year old students methodical analysis, Helena Ravenclaw thought of the boy of more than forty years ago.

They are equally smart, equally handsome, and equally eloquent. After a moment of confusion, Helena regained her composure:"Your analysis is very reasonable. As you guessed, Rowena Ravenclaw is my biological mother. As her only descendant, I can indeed inhabit her statue."

Helena's tone was natural, but Kaizo immediately discovered the flaw in her words. In other words, it was a trap deliberately left by him in his previous words. Kaizo said that he had guessed that Helena was Ravenclaw's daughter, so that's why she could inhabit her mother's statue.

In order to get rid of Kaizo as soon as possible, Helena directly admitted her identity and followed Kaizo's answer. But in reality, Kaizo knows that ghosts cannot remain in something for long. Ghosts are not like portraits of Hogwarts. Although ghosts can pass themselves through the wall or non living physical things for a short period of time, they cannot hide inside it for a long time, even if it is a statue of her mother.

Moaning Myrtle is an exception, but the reason why she can stay inside the toilet is bacause the toilet has huge pipes and there is space to stay in it.

So, Helena was lying.

So, why did she lie? What is she hiding?

According to Kaizo's psychic reconnaissance, the statue is not hollow; therefore, there is only one possibility for Helena to hide in the statue– that the statue was cast with special magic.

What is this magic?

Kaizo immediately became interested.

Salazar Slytherin can leave the Chamber of Secrets in the castle, there's no reason Rowena Ravenclaw won't leave her knowledge behind somewhere hidden in castle, if it is not in the Room of Requirement.

Afterall, the entire castle was designed by her.
