"Ikenna how dare you bring out my child in this cold to be washing the dishes?"

I frozed

Before I could manage to turn and explain to her,she was already standing before me

The next thing I heard was pak,pak

A very thunderous slap landed on my cheeks

I was trying to say something when she raised her hand to slap me again,but chidi's voice thrilled from behind me

"Mummy stop, bro Ikenna here did not do anything,I was the one who insisted on helping him out"

"Shut up your mouth Chidi,I didn't know you to be a liar, when did you started lying,or is it also another Lagos lifestyle that he's teaching you" Aunty Anurika yelled

"Mom I said I insisted,I want to be responsible and not lazy, our aunt in school taught us about division of labo..."

"Will you shut your mouth and go inside"Aunty Anurika yelled one more time

Chidi was fumming as he was leaving,and just then my uncle's voice caused his movement to come to a halt

"Go back and wash the plates you were washing Chidi,I can't believe you are becoming a big boy,give me a high five

Chidi who was fuming with anger, suddenly cheered up as his face glowed with true happiness,he drew near and gave his father a high five before going back to continue with the dishes

I left where I was standing and continued doing other house chores,while my aunt looked at me with terror in her eyes

Without her even saying a word,I could read her heart

It was just as if she was telling me I will deal with you

My uncle quickly walked to our room and woke the rest of his sons up,he scolded them that they should wake up and do something

They all got up and was fuming with anger,I didn't go to the farm that day,I only cooked and dished to everyone

I went to school early and even my teachers were shocked

They kept saying "Wow Ikenna what happened to you today?....so you finally decided to come to school on time,thank God oh"

I was swimming in the ocean of happiness until I was told that my aunty came to my school and she's requesting for me to be pulled back to JSS 1 OR JSS 2 Latest

I had to run and beg my form mistress in school because my main class should have been SS 2 If my parents were alive,but my parents died in an auto accident and me coming to the village really made time to go against me.

So when I explained things to my teacher,she said it won't happen under her watch,she teamed up with two other teachers who knew how brilliant I was and we all stormed into the principal's office

Immediately my aunt saw me she had a smirk on her face

She quickly pointed to the principal that this is the boy she was talking about,that I didn't know anything that my head is blocked,and that I should be taken backwards in my class,that she's simply doing this because she cares about my well-being

The principal beacon me to come over,I came over and my teachers followed swiftly

The principal asked me my name and I replied with calmness

"My name is Ikenna Michael"

The principal was amazed by my queens English

He looked at my Aunty and asked her one more time

"Is this the boy that you said that didn't know anything?...his English is very clean"The principal commended me

"O by isu Oyibo,tell him to write it in a paper"(is it by speaking English,tell him to write it) Aunty Anurika said

One thing about me is that I don't really have a good handwriting,the first time my aunty came across my notebook,she screamed and concluded I was an itiboribo,an olodo ( I didn't know anything)

Back to the story,the principal asked me to write my name,I quickly took a pen and paper and wrote my name

He said my handwriting was just like his own,so he understood it very well

That was where my form mistress stepped in,she gave the principal all my assessments and he marvelled at how intelligent I was

He quickly declined my aunty's request, I watched as my aunty stood up and was about leaving in shame

But I was wondering why she really wanted me to be taken back in my class

Immediately Aunty Anurika reached the exit door she turned and gave me a stern look before she said to me

"We will meet at home" Aunty Anurika said as she snapped her fingers into the air
