Akujin was surprised that Kenzo hadn't reached him because he knew without a doubt that he had made contact with Gerard.

He had a few of his men on the lookout and they reported back to him that Kenzo had entered the hotel and came out of it.

But there was no telling what happened within, Akujin hoped he had taken care of the threat.

This was a similar pattern, he didn't report back after killing Li so Akujin hoped that this was the case as well.

However, his phone soon rang and it was Gerard calling him. This could either be a trick or Kenzo had failed to kill him, the former looked like the more likely outcome.

Akujin's heart dropped, there was no way that he could have survived a fight with Kenzo, there was no way in a million years.

"This has to be some sort of mistake," Akujin thought to himself before picking up the call.

"You failed," This was all he heard from the other side of the phone, this was no doubt Gerard's voice.
