The ocean snake bared its fangs towards Resi's heart and sunk its slimy teeth in his chest. Ligi was just a step away from activating his Reach skill, but he got there too late.
Resi held his chest and pulled out the water snake as he tumbled backward. He felt like his heart had stopped beating and about to explode at the same time.
Resi felt his vision became blurry and his sense of balance faded away. He could not hold his head up as it skidded on the ground. His body was paralyzed from his feet to his head.
Ligi kneeled towards Resi, and his heart stopped when he thought about the worst-case scenario. Resi acted like he was dead, and Ligi did not know what to do. Their journey had just begun, yet Resi was about to die.
He was too shocked to notice the sword coming for his head. He saw it too late, and at this rate, it would cleave his head right off.
