"You're such an idiot! Why did you mention Atticus in front of my mom? She's totally onto me now, Theodore!" Kinzaki marched down the street, sighing out loud, and slapping his forehead.
"Ahahaha... yeah... sorry about that, I thought she would know about your crush."
"Who tells their parents about their crushes? I never done that a day in my life." Proclaimed Bennett.
"Why, cause it's embarrassing?" Asked Ashley.
"No, not cause of that, it's mainly because my crushes ends up being guys..."
"Oh, well you got a point there Bennett. Your parents are like super religious, they would probably kick you outta their house for all we know," Ashley wrapped his arm around Bennet's neck, "but you have us in the end! We'll definitely let you stay with us if anything ever happens."
Bennet smiled, and wrapped his arm around Ashley's shoulder as well, "Yeah, you better. You guys are the only people I can rely on in this shitty world after all."
"Shitty? The worlds a good place Bennett, you just gotta learn how to be humble for what you got," Theodore turned around as he carried forward, "If your parents disown you, we'll stand by your side until the end, Kay?" Theodore winked.
"Hey, I have to make a stop, you guys can go on without me." Kinzaki came to a halt, stopping in front of a store. "I'm gonna go into Franks really quick, and grab something to snack on. I didn't eat breakfast this morning, and I'm starving."
"Huh? Franks? Why do you wanna get food from there? The quality is so mid. We can stop by a supermarket or something." Said Theodore.
"No it's okay, food is food. I'm just gonna grab something, so I'll be back before you know it!" Kinzaki ran into the store, letting the glass door shut as he made his way over to the drink section.
"Alright, just don't be late!" Shouted Ashley.
They all left without further notice, continuing their way to school.
Kinzaki was idly standing by, putting on a suspicious act to the other customers nearby. He didn't try to be suspicious, and it wasn't for anything illegal, instead, it was for something else.
My hands are shaking, my breathing feels hefty, and my head feels like it's spinning in circles. I'm so close to him. He's just right there, behind the counter. Why am I afraid to approach him?
"Excuse me." A man walked by Kinzaki, bumping into his shoulder which snapped him back into reality.
"O-Oh, sorry." Kinzaki quickly grabbed some random drink from the freezer, turning around to make his way over to the counter. He slowly paced himself, trying his hardest to avoid eye contact with the mysterious young man standing behind it.
That's Atticus, one of the hottest guys in my school. Sadly he graduated last year, so he doesn't go to school anymore, but that doesn't matter since I had a crush on him ever since I was a freshman attending Yasuville High School.
He's always been on my mind.
I always found him attractive, but I couldn't say the same for him.
Did he like me as well? I mean… he always talks to me more than others, but maybe I'm overthinking it.
"Yo, Kinzaki, I haven't seen you in a while, how have you been?" Atticus called out to Kinzaki, which startled him.
Crap, he called out my name, I'm gonna get all red in the face, but I have to hide it.
"M-Morning Atticus, it's nice seeing you so early."
Kinzaki stopped in front of the counter, placing his drink on top.
"Morning to you too- wait a minute, why did you buy a banana flavored energy drink? Aren't you allergic to bananas?" Atticus exclaimed.
Oh crap, why did I get this? Damnit, what should I say? Hold on… how did he even know I was allergic to bananas? Maybe I should ask that first!
"H-How do you know that I'm allergic to bananas? Who gave you that information?"
"Oh, well I figured it out a couple of years ago when you were a junior in Yasuville High school. You ate that banana bread which made your cheeks start to swell up, bahahaha! That was good times wasn't it?"
He remembers that? Oh god, how embarrassing.
"Yeah… well I was being an idiot and thought it was some regular muffin. It's kinda my fault there. No one else to blame."
"How responsible of you." Atticus sarcastically proclaimed. "But jokes aside, are you sure you don't wanna switch for another drink?"
"I might as well… be right back." Kinzaki turned around and facepalmed himself, making his way over to the fridge to replace his banana energy drink, with a ice-cold mocha. "I suck at small talk." Kinzaki murmured.
He eventually made his way back to the counter, waiting for one of the customers to get their bag and leave.
"Here you go sir, have a nice day, and stay safe out there." Atticus said.
"Thank you young man, it is great to have respectable people like you in this world." The old man walked out with his bags of sodas, and packaged meat.
"Ah, so he returns again, what did you get this time, Kinzaki?" Atticus wiped the counter off with a cloth, cleaning up the juices left behind from the packaged meat.
"This time I decided to get a ice-cold mocha. You can't go wrong with this, can you?" Kinzaki sat it on the counter and smiled.
"Nope, mochas are the only thing I drink during the mornings. Once that caffeine kicks in, it feels like someone dumped an entire cities worth of fossil fuel on you." Atticus took the mocha, placing it under the scanner, and sliding it back to Kinzaki. "It's on the house, enjoy your drink, Kinzaki."
Kinzaki stood there with his eyes widening, and his movements stopping for a moment, "Wait, you're purchasing this for me?" Kinzaki peeped at his mocha, hesitant to reach for it.
"Of course I am, these things are expensive, take it and enjoy the day," Atticus slid the mocha into Kinzaki's hand, winking at him, "you have a field trip to visit the national festival, which celebrates our countries freedom. The mayor will be there, and you always wanted to see him, right?"
Kinzaki stared at the mocha in his hand, slowly nodding his head, "Right… yeah, the mayors at the festival, I've been dying to ask him an important question ever since I was a little boy. T-Thank you for the drink, but I won't take advantage of you like this, just because I barely make money!"
"It's fine Kinzaki, you're too worrisome. Just enjoy your day, okay?" Atticus smile, as he gave a nod.
"Alright, uhhh, I'll see you tomorrow, or whenever we meet- excuse me!" Kinzaki paced himself towards the door, opening it until the bells at the top jingled.
(That went well, I thought I would do something embarrassing in front of Atticus, but it's all good. Whew, luck was on my side today.)
Kinzaki placed his hand upon his chest, taking deep breaths as he walked down the pavement.
I wonder why he did that for me? Why did he buy me my drink? And to top it off, he looked at me as if he was interested in me- wait no! I'm overthinking the situation. Atticus is just over-friendly sometimes, that has to be it.
There really isn't anything special about me, except my speed. I can run fast, that's pretty much it.
Everyone knows me at school for being the "quickster", and I also have other nicknames as well; The Flash, Godspeed, Blur, speedy, and many others.
I need new hobbies other than sitting around at home, and roleplaying on my phone in discord.
My part-time job is one good thing about my life;
It's just delivering pizza, nothing special, but I do enjoy driving around at night to myself, enjoying my time alone.
"Kuhahaha, you old fuck, you're holding onto that damn thing like it's your life!" A sound came from the alleyway up ahead, startling Kinzaki.
"What's going on there?" Kinzaki slowed down his pace, and creeped up to the corner of the alleyway, peeking at the commotion.
He couldn't see what was going on, but could only notice three men surrounding someone.
He tried getting a closer view, but making his presence noticed could be dangerous.
"Who are they talking to-? Ah!" His heart skipped a beat, and his eyes opened larger than before. Kinzaki could notice a beaten old man laying on the ground, holding onto an iPhone with one hand. His face was bloody with a shaking body, unable to muster any words. It looked like his legs were broken.
"Hey, you three, leave him alone!!!" Kinzaki jumped from behind the corner, holding his phone in his hand, "I already called the cops on you assholes, so beat it, or you'll have to deal with them when they get here! Everything's recorded, so you have no choice but to flee."
The three men glanced at Kinzaki, frowning in visible annoyance, as one spoke, "You recorded us? I assume that means you got our face in the video, didn't you?"
Shit… wait, I didn't think this through, my bluff failed!
"U-Umm… no, I didn't catch anyones face-!"
"You picked a bad time to come across us kid."
"Wait, I'm sorry, hold on, we can sort this out!" Kinzaki stepped back, dropping his phone as his legs started to shake, "Please…!?"
