Unfortunately, life doesn't always go as planned. Jordan is now determined more than ever to grow stronger. And his new aspirations? Survive and Conquer! Hello to all readers, this is my first time writing a story/novel and so I hope that you guys will give it a try and let me know your thoughts. Feedback is always appreciated!

Jordan

"Ugh, what time is it?" asked Jordan to no one in particular as he rubbed his eyes and groggily sat up on the edge of his bed. As Jordan took a moment to gather his bearings he had a look around his room trying to clear his muddled vision before another long day.

The walls of Jordan's room were made of a well-polished deep, and dark oak wood with a shiny sheen that reflected in the sunlight which came through a single window that hovered just above his bed. The room was about 10ft going in either direction from the center with a simplistic design and furnishings.

There was a simple dresser against the wall opposite the bed where Jordan kept his clothes, a wooden chest located on the left side of the bed, and a small kerosene lamp on the floor in a corner.

Jordan was an 18yr old male of a slightly built stature and 6ft in height, comparatively tall when compared to the rest of the males that resided in Triconia.

He was a guy of average looks with messy wild blond hair that was always kept trimmed to his shoulders. He had blue eyes and a face full of freckles.

TAP TAP TAP

Jordan could hear little footsteps running up the stairs outside his room which caused him to smile as he knew they would belong to his younger brother and sister who he cared about more than anything else in this world.

"Brother, brother why aren't you ready yet? Your gonna miss your summoning ceremony if you don't leave now, and Mom's already upset that you missed dinner because you came home so late last night."

His little brother Aran and his little sister Sasha said almost in complete unison. They were both twins, where Aran got his blonde hair and bright blue eyes from their mother same as Jordan, and Sasha got her dark chestnut hair and hazelnut eyes with freckles from their father.

They were both 12yrs old and of skinny stature but both quite tall for their age standing at a height of about 5'5.

Jordan could see the worry in their eyes and that was when he finally checked the time noticing that it was already after 10am.

Jordan jumped up from his bed "Oh crap, I completely overslept!" shouted Jordan as he grabbed his black hoodie and jeans from the chest while rushing to the restroom to brush his teeth and wash his face before leaving the house.

Jordan had gotten home late last night due to a job he had picked up to try and bring some extra income into his household.

Ever since his father passed away 4 years ago his mother had been having a hard time and he knew that they could not rely on his father's insurance forever, so he would always pick up odd jobs here and there over the years to try and help out their mother where he could and help in raising his younger siblings.

Jordan dashed downstairs and noticed he didn't see his mother. 'Hmm, she probably went back to sleep. I'll see her and apologize about missing dinner when I get back' he thought to himself.

As he ran outside the crisp fresh air of the forest greeted him as he somersaulted over some fallen trees and into the forest just for the fun of it. Jordan's family resided outside of the Triconia village which was located east of the forest while his family home was a little way into the forest but still on the outskirts, so no dangerous predator had ever showed up at their doorstep.

His father had chosen to build their home there to protect his family from the propaganda of the village.

All he wanted was for his family to grow peacefully and free from the politics of the village. As Jordan was on his mad dash to the village trying not to miss out on his summoning ceremony as he would never have the chance again if he missed this one, his mind began to wonder.

He thought of everything he had been through after his father passed away just so that he can help his family. He thought about the constant ridicule and looks of disdain he would often get as he did manual labor for any little change he could get.

Jordan was always an outcast in the village because his mother was a foreigner, however, it had never been noticeable until his father who was second only to the village chief had passed away.

That was when things took a turn for the worst and when his family had the misfortune of finding out that his father and the village chief were not as close as they believed them to be.

All of his father's belongings were taken by the village chief leaving them with nothing but their cabin in the woods and their father's insurance to survive on.
