Long Bai [3]

Long Bai pushed opened the door slightly as he slid in between. Inside there were no lights it was utter darkness itself. It was weird how the room was full of decorations but there was no lumination to show the decorations to the others. What's the point of decor if they were not visible?

Long Bai was walking casually as he scanned the room for a good hiding spot. His eyes that were potent to see in the dark due to a specific technique he uses were able to see it all. Something that he saw in the room caught him off guard.

There he was, Yang Ding, lying in the room. A breeze came in from the window as it made the curtains attached to the bed flutter along with his own clothes which formed ripples.

'Why is he here?'

He almost gasped as his head jerked back.

Long Bai witnessed something that he never thought he would have seen in his life! Yang Ding sleeping was like a fantasy only written by his fangirls in their books. Yang Ding had always been the workaholic type and used to sleep just a few hours a day. But after he reached the Ling Unification Realm he never saw back and worked day and night. He could only be seen as a monster. The only time he could be seen at peace was when he was cultivating and that's all!

Long Bai lips arched into a smile. Who would have thought that he would get such an easy kill? He had prepared so much for nothing! It seems his lady luck was more potent than he thought.

He walked closer to Yang Ding's bed. He had a smug on his face.

He took his dagger out of his dagger as he ducked low beside the bed to end it in one go. He made no sound, as the dagger approached closer and closer to Yang Ding's neck. But alas, Yang Ding's eyes shot awoke at moment's notice and held the dagger just a few inches before his neck.

'Fuck'

He released an intense amount of killing intent that made even Long Bai cower. He tried to step back and say it was all a lie but his hands were already caught on by him. Yang Ding was few stages higher than him in the cultivation stage. So he couldn't free his hand so easily.

Long Bai was tied up in chains in a room with no illumination. He could hardly see anything. But he could hear everything perfectly.

"Do you think that killing me would have been so easy? Haha"

Yang Ding laughed.

Long Bai went quet. His eyes were vacant with his defeat.

'I am in a sticky situation,' he said as his hands turned cold.

"To be honest, never thought that way. You are a tough target that's why I prepared a lot and yet it was all in vain. To think I would be fooled. You certainly played dirty."

"Haha, you are one to talk. Killing experts using those dirty trick of yours."

"Say what you want, kill me if you may. I don't care. I never feared death."

Yang ding gasped.

"And here I thought things were getting interesting. Do you have any idea how much I have waited for this day? How much time I had to spend? How much… just so that I can catch you off guard when you come to kill me."

Long Bai had a poker face. He was completely clueless as to what Yang Ding was implying.

"What do you mean?"

Yang Ding smirked.

"Tracking your spies in the different clans and replacing them with my own isn't easy you know?"

Yang Ding challenged him, he had the grin on his face that his victory was assured.

"Haha, even the lone wolf Long Bai needs spies to collect information on their targets. If only those fools would understand this simple fact, their life would have been so much easier."

Long Bai didn't reply anything. His silence was taken as his agreement.

"So let's see. Who do I have in my grasp now? 'Long Bai' who had shamelessly killed the first line of succession of the Xiao Clan. Who has killed 32 Sky Profound Realm Experts and 11 experts of the Ling Unification Realm in the most shameless of ways with no reason at all? What do you think? How much money would the clans be willing to pay just to have you killed? I bet I can procure a hell of a lot of resources for my clan if I sell you out to them."

Long Bai gulped. What would happen if he sold out? He would be tortured in the most merciless ways, they will leave no bounds to torture him even doing it in secret to hide their dirty commits from the world. This is especially true if Yang Ding sells him out to the Xiao clan. he is done for. The Xiao Clan are always yearning for revenge.

But does he fear? Never. Since the day he had been walking on this path, he always knew of dangers. The thought of being tortured doesn't faze him as much as it did before.

'You might be the all-knowing genius, Yang Ding. But you are wrong about one thing I am not completely alone and I am sure he would keep his promise'
