Prologue

I was lying down on my bed listening to music when a song I didn't know came on. I picked up my phone and took one ear-plug out while leaving the other in. I looked at the song seeing that it was called 'Take Me In' by Carter Cohen. 'Um... who is this weirdo?' I decided to search him up and looked at his bio. It showed that he was 15, only a year older than me, and other things about him. I looked at images of him and sat up while scrolling really fast through is pictures. He was... adorable! He had perfect black hair and dimples that mad him even cuter that what he already was. I decided to look at his instagram and saw that he was super famous on there because of his music and well.. what else?

I started listening to some of his songs and he was amazing! I layed on my stomach while kicking my legs back and forth and almost falling asleep to his voice when my little brother, Leroy, opened my door and ran out with my phone. 'Mom look at this! Sofia's listening to booooys!' Leroy said while my mom was looking at my phone and he was sticking his tongue out at me. 'Sofia, what did I tell you about these boy bands? I don't really like their songs.' My mom says while handing me my phone back. 'But mom, it's just like listening to other songs it's just by boys!' 'Do not raise your voice at me Sofia! Go back to your room and stop listening to that junk!' My mom turns around and continues washing the dishes. 'It's not junk!' I say while storming back upstairs and slamming my door shut. I throw my phone on my bed and plop down on it.

I sigh then pick my phone back up and start listening to Carter again. Why can't mom just understand that it's just normal music?
