Land is the source of wealth

"Can you tell me what are you working on now?" 

When they left the school, Mizuto left with Yume accompanying her. She had just lost her virginity last night, so he needed to give her extra care. 

"What's wrong?" 

"Well, you have been so mysterious... and I want to know what you are doing, you know?" 

Frankly, Yume was confused at how Mizuto could get a free trip to a famous luxurious resort in the world, and it made her wonder whether he had taken a job that she didn't know. 

"Now that you mention it, what kind of job have I told you?" 

Hearing his question, Yume started to recount her memory. "Let's see... I know that you write a thesis for others, sell antiques, and also have a parking lot. So, is there anything else again?" Her eyes were full of curiosity as she watched him. 

"There is." 

"What is it?" 

"I help with investment research." 

"...." 

As expected, this guy was too amazing. If it was before, she might have gotten overwhelmed, but as she had given everything to him, she didn't feel afraid and even felt proud that her man could achieve all of this in high school. 

"Is it related to your dream to work at an investment bank?" 

"No, I just have a part-time job at an investment firm." 

"...amazing." 

"It's not so amazing. Just think of it like having a part-time job at a convenience store or cafe." 

"But you are working at an investment firm, not a convenience store or cafe!" Yume sighed, wondering how he could think working a part-time job at the investment firm was different from working at the convenience store or cafe. 

"Then, should I act like I am amazing or something?" 

Watching his smile, Yume pouted, but she didn't hate this part of his since he didn't flaunt or be proud of his achievement, like a peacock that wished for everyone to see. It was also due to this that she thought that he was also humble and probably hid many other things. 

"No, I love this part of you~!" 

"...." 

Mizuto felt a bit overwhelmed by her love, but it didn't matter. 

"So, is that all?" 

"What is it?" 

"I mean... is that all that you do?" 

He noticed that she kept staring at him, which made him helpless. "Probably, there are still many." He also wrote a book, but he felt that he shouldn't talk about this to Yume since his writing was a bit too vulgar, and he was afraid that her mind might wander in a strange direction if she read his book. 

"Then—" 

"But I won't tell you." 

"Why?!" 

Mizuto didn't want her to be misunderstood, so he explained, "Because those things haven't been completed, and I don't think that I can proudly say that they are my achievement. I mean.. isn't it uncool to say something that I haven't done yet? It's like I'm talking big when I know that I am nothing." 

"You are too humble with yourselves. Frankly, you are probably the only one capable of doing all the great things in our country during high school." 

Unlike other high school students who were still immature, thinking about love all the time and then trying to impress anyone with their so-so achievements, Yume knew that he was mature and stable, thinking about his future, which made him a great partner to whom she could trust everything. Her future... she knew that it would be incomplete without him, so if possible, she wished to be his help so he couldn't be without her. 

"Thanks, but I have always wanted to appear cool in front of you, after all." 

Watching his embarrassed expression, Yume smiled and rubbed her face against his arm. "It's okay to act more spoiled, you know~? If you want, this big sister will dote on you all the time~!" 

Mizuto rolled his eyes, thinking that this girl had gotten ahead of herself. "I won't." 

"Really~?" 

When he stayed quiet and looked away, she only chuckled and asked, "By the way, your trip to Osaka and our trip to Ise-Shima is related to your job?" 

"You can tell?" 

"It will be weird if you can get a free trip to such a luxurious resort if it isn't because of a job, right?" 

"You are right, but then again, it will be lonely to go there alone, right?" 

"Can it be only the two of us?" 

"If that's the case, then I am afraid that you will say the resort is great since all you do is spend your time with me. I need an objective view." 

"...you are right." 

Yume couldn't deny that as long as she was with him, she felt that everything would be great, and she wasn't confident that she could give an objective opinion of the resort since her heart would be all fluffy due to being with him. Still, it was also due to this that her suspicion toward his invitation to Reina and Akatsuki was completely erased. 

"So, this investment research job... what did you do?" 

"You are curious?" 

"Of course." 

"It isn't fun, though." 

"But I want to know." 

Watching Yume act like a baby, Mizuto was helpless. "My focus is on the research in the on real estate."

"Oh, is it like a house or apartment?"

"That's part of it, but my focus is on commercial property." 

"Commercial property?"

"It is real estate (buildings or land) intended to generate a profit, either from capital gains or rental income. If I give an example like the office building that I talked to you about before." 

"Then, your trip to Osaka is to see an office building?" 

"That's part of it." 

"Is there something else that you want to see?" 

"Probably, a warehouse." 

"Warehouse?" Yume was confused and then asked, "Why a warehouse?" 

"You know that e-commerce, online shopping, and many others are getting popular. It is also because of this that I think the warehouse will become even more popular in the future." 

As he explained, Yume was dumbfounded since she didn't expect a lot of money to be generated from a warehouse. Yet from his explanation, she also understood it was impossible for e-commerce to invest all of its money in a property (warehouse), and leasing the warehouse was cheaper. By then, they could use their money to invest in other things, such as cheapening the production cost, marketing, making the system better, or something else. 

Many might have underestimated the warehouse, but there was no doubt that along with the growth of e-commerce, the existence of warehouses would be even more important, especially in those big cities where the land was premium, and there were an enormous number of transactions happening every day. 

With all of his money, Mizuto planned to become a king of warehouses, having a stable and easy income. He was going to monopolize all the critical and necessary warehouses in the whole world. Moreover, with his job as a "Real Estate Developer," there was no doubt that a warehouse was the best thing for him to acquire.

Moreover, by owning a lot of warehouses, he could tell what kind of goods were popular in the market, and that way, he could use his capital to rob that business. Lastly, having a lot of warehouses would make it convenient to enter other businesses, such as retail, food, and many others. 

The land is a treasure. 

It is the source of all of his wealth. 

While many might focus on technology, he focused on the basics, slowly expanding outward until he controlled everything. 

Still, Mizuto noticed Yume's expression became even more idiotic. "Is it fun to listen to what I do in my job?" 

"Un, it's fun. I want to hear more." 

If his investment was about a stock or something, Yume might not like it as the stock and money market had always been equivalent to instability, but land was different. It was secure and stable. This is what the women sought. 

As he talked, she listened happily and curiously.

Then, along with many things, Friday came, and it was time for Akatsuki and Reina to come to their house for a study group for the placement test. 

So, after Akatsuki and Reina went home, changed their clothes, brought other items to the study group, and stayed for a night, the two girls came. 

"Excuse me~!" 

Yet, when he looked at Akatsuki's smile, he knew this study group was definitely far more than a mere study.
