Chapter XXIX: Wolf in the Fold.

Last Time.

Artemis nudges him. "Yes! I wasn't going to just take being implied as someone who couldn't look after herself lightly. But... maybe part of it was not being told about it until now that got to me." Naruto held her chin up.

"Like I said Artemis, you're family. And you've already seen how far I'll go to look out for my family., he said, reminding her of his search for Fury.

As she smiles, Artemis leans into Naruto's ear and whispers, "So, is that offer to blow off steam still available?"

He smiles at her. "For you, love…." He grabs her by the hips, making her yelp. Picking her up and tossing her onto the bed, he leans in, "Always." he finishes by kissing her as they begin to shed their clothing.

Washington D.C. December 6, 20:30 EST.

Diana, in her civilian outfit with a red sweatshirt, was walking along the city street when she suddenly sees a silhouette of a girl flying in the night sky.

She quickly slips into an alleyway to change into her uniform and flies after the girl, who eventually stopped on a rooftop. Wonder Woman dropped down and saw Fury was facing away from her before turning around.

"That's... Very good armor. It's somewhat reminiscent of Themysciran battle armor." Wonder Woman complimented, without getting a reply from Fury. "Fury... I'm so very sorry for all you had to go through. We should have looked deeper into Cadmus."

Fury sighed as she crossed her arms. "I've never blamed you, Mother. Nor have I ever blamed Father." Wonder Woman looked down before speaking.

"Then... Why don't you come back with me? We can meet your Father. Make up for all the lost time we-"

"No... Not until I'm worthy." Fury said as she started floating. "And call me... Megaera... You know what that means, right?" As Fury flew away, Wonder Woman looked down and whispered.

"The Jealous One." Before dropping to her knees and breaking down in tears.

Up above, Fury shed a single tear as she flies off into the night sky.

Now.

Gotham; Naruto's Penthouse, December 7, 09:00 EST.

Naruto was fixing breakfast when he heard the doorbell ring. Creating a clone to finish cooking as he answered the door only to have had Talia glomp him while rubbing her face on his collarbone. "Morning, Beloved."

Naruto smiled as he hugged her. "Morning, Darling." He heard a throat being cleared before looking up and saw Ra's standing with two Shadows.

"Ra's." Naruto greeted as Talia moved away from Naruto.

"I'm sorry Beloved, I would have called but it was a last-minute thing."

Naruto let them in as he held Talia by the waist, and moved a hand to the light switch by the door. He put his finger on a 'J' written under it and had Jade's door glow before it locked. Naruto walked into the living room and sat down on the couch. Talia sat down beside him and brought her legs up on it so she can lay against Naruto's shoulder. "Naruto... I want to talk to you about joining the League of Assassins." Ra's spoke as Naruto leaned back.

"No," Naruto replied wrapping an arm around Talia.

"Why not? I figured that since your World was the same as-"

He stopped as Naruto raised his free hand. "No. It's not the same. Your group wants to wipe out the good along with the bad."

Ra's just stared before speaking. "What do you mean? From what you've told that Lois woman, as well as Cat Grant. Your World is just a bigger version of my League."

"The difference and I'm sure Batman's told you this before, is the fact that you'll kill everyone! Back in August, you were going to destroy an entire city with a missile." Naruto said before sighing. "My World doesn't do that. Only a person who thought like you, and a person who was mind-controlled into doing that." Naruto said remembering Danzo, and Yagura.

After talking for a while, Ra's stood to leave as Talia fell asleep against Naruto. "I must be going. And Naruto..." Naruto looked back before Ra's continued. "I look forward to the day of meeting my grandson."

"Who says it'll be a boy? Besides you may have to wait a while as we're not ready for kids." Naruto replied as Ra's, and his Shadows left.

Naruto gently stood up and picked Talia up bridal style. He smiled when he felt her snuggle against him as he took her to an empty apartment. He undressed her, put a pair of pajamas on her, and placed her in a bed before walking out.

Metropolis; December 7, 18:00 EST.

Naruto knocked on an apartment door and waited a moment before it opened. "Naruto? What are you doing here?"

A woman with short black hair wearing a brown business dress and stockings.

"Hey, Lois... I wanted to talk to you and Clark."

Lois blinked before letting Naruto in, and he walked to a couch. Clark walked in wearing a white sleeveless shirt, and pants.

Naruto went on to explain what he found on the laptop Donna got after going back to Cadmus. "After digging farther into the hard drive... Turns out Conner won't age. Physically, that is."

Clark blinked before speaking. "What do you mean?" Naruto brought out a folder and placed it on the table in front of them.

"What I mean is that Conner will look like a sixteen-year-old teen for life. And from what Donna's told me... That's not the bad news." Lois rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms under her bust.

"What else is there? Is Lex involved in it?" Naruto avoided her gaze getting her to glare. "Naruto."

"Lex is the human they took D.N.A. from to make Conner," Naruto said before seeing their dumbfounded looks. "Okay then, just give that folder to S.T.A.R. Labs, and see if they can fix Conner's aging problem. OK, bye!" Naruto said quickly and bolted out, leaving the frozen couple.

Gotham City; Naruto's Penthouse December 9, 11:00 EST.

Naruto stood in between Artemis and Jade as they stood outside on his patio, and target practice. Artemis used her bow as Jade used throwing weapons. "Good work girls... Keep this up, and you'll be as awesome as me one day." Both girls deadpanned before going back to practicing.

Naruto grinned as he raised both his hands.

Smack!

Both girls let out an uncharacteristic squeak as they shot, and threw their weapons hitting the padded wall behind the targets. They turned to glare at Naruto, who just grinned. "What? Oh come on, you have got to be ready for anything! Even your boyfriend's mischievous hands." They huffed before turning to practice more.

Naruto created a clone that got behind Jade as he got behind Artemis, and they both reached around the girls.

Inside, M'gann was cooking lunch and heard Artemis and Jade yell.

"EEP! NARUTO!"

She jumped throwing the tray of sandwiches in the air and had them fall on her.

Star City; December 10, 19:00 PST.

Naruto, in his suit, waited outside an apartment before the door opened. He smiled as Dinah walked out in a black backless dress with a slit over the left leg, high heels, and her hair covering her right eye.

"Wow! I never thought you couldn't be even more beautiful than you already were Dinah." She smiled before locking the door and took Naruto's offered arm in hers.

Later, they walked into a Museum's opening where groups of people were looking at the new paintings and statues. Naruto looked to see a refreshments table and smiled. "Want a drink?" Dinah smiled and nodded as Naruto walked over before Dinah heard a male speak up.

"Dinah? What are you doing here?"

"I'm on a date, Ollie. We just thought we'd stop by to see your donation for the new Museum." Dinah said as Oliver walked over with his hands in the pockets of his suit.

"So who did you get for a..." He trailed off as Naruto walked over, and handed Dinah a glass of champagne.

"Hey, Ollie." Naruto greeted before continuing. "Nice Museum. You have a hand in getting it built?" Oliver nodded before speaking.

"Hey, Naruto... Could I talk to Dinah alone for a second?"

Naruto looked to Dinah who nodded. "Okay, I'll go look at the paintings." As Naruto left, Oliver turned to Dinah.

"It didn't work out for us because of my... Bachelor identity, and now you're going out with a guy who's dating several women?"

"It's a little different Ollie," Dinah said taking a sip from her glass.

"How is it different?"

Dinah looked at Naruto and smiled. "Even though he's dating several girls... Because he's following a law from his World... A World he's still trying to get back to, by the way. He makes you feel like you're the only one in the World. Even when he takes all of us out to a place together."

Gotham City; Naruto's Penthouse December 11, 21:00 EST.

Naruto walked into a room and showed a home theater room with four rows of chairs, and a popcorn machine by the wall with a large screen taking up the wall on the far side. He felt something soft press against his back before seeing Crystal's arms wrap around him. "Hey Crystal." Naruto greeted turning around in her arms before kissing her.

Soon, all the other girls including his daughter, and the Team walked in. "Well, good thing I made this room big enough for when we have company," Naruto said before pressing a button and having another four rows of chairs pop up behind the others.

"What movie are we watching, Beloved?" Talia asked walking in making several members tense.

"Easy guys... Talia's with me." Naruto said before the screen lit up showing the Dreamworks logo. "How to Train your Dragon, Darling."

Washington D.C. December 12, 07:00 EST.

"I see a daughter that makes Me... US so very proud, every day." Megaera sat up in a tank top and shook her head.

"Damn Cadmus for making me 'see' everything dear sister sees." (1.) She growled getting out in black panties before getting dressed.

She looked to see her set up with several weapons before putting her whip on her hip. She walked to a computer and brought up a screen, and smiled cruelly. "Time to get things started." She said walking away as the computer showed a picture of Ocean Master before she cut it off. She smiled at the picture of Superboy before walking out. "Soon... You'll come to see who's a better match for you." (2.)

Atlantis; Old Roman's Trench, December 12, 14:55 UTC-2. (3.)

Fury with an oxygen mask covering her face, hid in the shadows as Ocean Master was talking to his group. "Atlantis will belong to the Pure!" He yelled in Atlantian thrusting his Trident up in the air getting his followers roaring with cheers.

As the Purists swam away, one swam near Fury, who grabbed the person from the shadows as she pulled out a black-bladed divers knife. Fury then pulled off the hood, showing a woman with blond hair. "If you want to continue breathing the salty sea, I suggest you tell me exactly what I want to know. Personally, I'd rather not taint the water with your blood, but..." she trails off by inching the tip of her dagger into the Purists' neck, drawing just a bit of blood. "That all depends on your honesty."

"Ocean Master is going to another hideout... After he tried to overthrow the Royal Family, we've been moving around hideouts."

Fury nodded before speaking. "I believe you, but just so you won't go and tell him..." She trailed off knocking the woman out by slamming her head against the nearby wall and placed her on the ocean floor.

Later, Fury saw Ocean Master swim inside a cave before swimming inside. She came up out of the water and saw Ocean Master reading a map in a cave above the water. She swam over and walked up the stairs before hearing Ocean Master speak up in English. "I thought I had a shadow... Wonder Girl." Fury's eyebrow twitched at that.

"It's Fury... Wonder Girl is my sister." Fury replied as Ocean Master turned around, and smiled. "Well, either way, I'll get to cripple Kage by killing you." He grabbed his Trident and dashed at her. Fury caught the Trident and smiled as she picked her knife out of her holster before stabbing it in his arm.

"What the hell? You heroes don't kill!"

Fury smiled as her eyes turned gold, and she gained horizontal bar pupils. "I'm no hero." She said as she also gained slit pupils with her bars, and brought the knife up at him.

Atlantis December 12, 15:25 UTC-2.

Orin, Mera, and Kaldur were talking in the Throne room before a door opened up showing Ocean Master. They readied their weapons before he fell over with a knife in his back with several other injuries. Fury walked out getting Orin to stare at her. "I'm guessing you're Naruto's other daughter Fury, right?" He asked in Atlantian.

Fury nodded before speaking as she brought Ocean Master over. "Yes... I mean no harm, but I've gotten rid of a rat for you." Orin nodded before sighing.

"I... Thank you for tha-!"

He stopped as she removed Ocean Master's helmet revealing his brother Orm. "Before you speak up... I have proof from Cadmus that Orm is indeed Ocean Master... The group he's a part of is a part of Cadmus." She reached for her belt and removed a clear container with a USB drive inside to keep it dry.

"My sister Donna, M'gann, and Conner also knew. Before you speak, Aqualad, she used my Father's technique and felt they had the same energy. She just didn't want to bring it up until she had proof." Fury said stopping any interruptions before taking her knife and started walking away.

"Wait! We can take you to your family." Orin said getting Fury to stop.

"No... Not until I'm worthy." She replied walking out the door as guards came in on the other side of the room.

Unknown Location; December 12, 21:22 EST.

Fury kicked a door down before proceeding to walk inside of a secure room and saw Vandal sitting up at a table with the other members of the Light. "I want in. Anybody got a problem with that?" Fury looks around to see if anyone objects. "How about you, Lex?" she asks Luthor. (4.)

He's frozen stiff sitting in a wheelchair. She walks toward a table and sits on a chair, raising her legs to lie at the edge. "Let me make one thing perfectly clear; I don't take orders from any of you! I'm just here to settle some... 'Personal affairs'. Speaking of which, and just to be clear, Dr. Desmond turned himself into a huge, genetic monstrosity called Blockbuster, right?"

The Brain answers, "Er... Yes. Why?" Fury begins to smirk at his answer. Unbeknownst to her, a shadow assassin is creeping up behind her, blade at the ready. "Oh, just curious. And by the way, just to give you all a heads up." The assassin looks to Ra's, who nods at him and then lunges at Fury.

Only for her to grab his arm and break it before slamming his head onto the table…. Repeatedly. She then takes the blade he dropped and stabs it through his shoulder, sticking him to the table. "If you intend to either kill me or put me on a leash. Then you're going to have to try better than this," she states as the assassin is screaming in pain.

She walks off, leaving the Light completely flabbergasted. Outside, she picks a piece of paper out of her cleavage and sees a list of villains with Ocean Master crossed out.

Washington D.C. December 13, 18:00 EST.

Kage and Wonder Woman dropped down in an empty hangar before the lights went on showing Megaera in faded blue jeans, and a black shirt. "How did you find me?" She asked as Naruto raised his hands.

"I used my Sage Mode... I wanted to see you." She flew down from her room, and in front of him.

"Why?"

"Christmas is only a few weeks away Honey. And I'm guessing that you won't join us for the holiday. So, we wanted to give you our presents in person." Naruto gave her some scrolls and smiled. "Here's some techniques, and tips on using Sage Mode."

Wonder Woman walked over and handed her a few books. "And training instructions in Amazon fighting styles. You'll need to see mother for any gifts you may have not have received from Cadmus, though."

"Why?" She asked again as her hair shadowed her eyes.

"Because you're our daughter... No matter what you say." Naruto said before hugging her, getting Megaera to stiffen. Wonder Woman hugged her as well before they backed away. "Merry Christmas Megaera... Don't worry. We'll keep your hideout a secret until you're ready to join us."

Naruto finished before he, and Wonder Woman flashed away with Hiraishin. (Flying Thunder God.)

Fury stood there, her knees beginning to numb. She fell to her knees, looked towards her gifts, and picked up a scroll and a book. She fell backward and held them close to her chest. She smiled as she shed tears of joy.
