Chapter XVI: Interlude.

Last Time.

Robin got out of his cuffs and attacked as Wonder Girl broke her red chakra seeping out around her. "Don't touch the others without looking at them. This little won't burn anyone as long as I know who you'll touch to keep it. Dialed down." She heard Kurama speak just as Solovar came in, and attacked with Miss Martian.

Wonder Girl took care of the Shadow group that followed as the others took care of the Brain, Humanite, and Mallah. "Rasengan! (Spiraling Sphere!)" She hits one man having him fly back into the group before Miss Martian spoke up through the link.

"We've rigged this place to blow! We need to get out!" Everyone dashed out leaving Brain, Mallah, and Humanite to leave through a secrete passage.

Later, after getting the gorillas reunited, they boarded the Bio-ship and left as Grodd smirked as he saw the gorilla that didn't get captured leave. "The age of the old god has passed... Now the age of the new Grodd may begin."

Jump City; September 27, 20:00 PST.

A ship crashed landed in a forest creating a crater. The door opened, and purple glowing eyes came out of the shadows. A figure walked out showing a female Tamaranean with purple eyes, and long black hair. She's wearing a dark purple top, skirt, and thigh-high boots. Her skin from the top down is covered in a metal cover.

She took a look around before flying up in the air.

Now.

Gotham City; Naruto's Penthouse, September 28, 6:00 EDT.

Naruto wearing only black pajama pants walked to the end of the hall where the locked door is. He looked back before unlocking the door, walked in, and locked it back before smiling. "Time to get up Jade." He said to Jade who's under the covers.

She groaned as she pulled the covers off showing a tank top, and dark green panties.

"Another hour.." She said as he walked over, bent down, and kissed her.

"No Jade... If you want to hide from your mother and sister, then you need to be here when they're not, and up when they're asleep." He said pulling back, only to be pulled back in as Jade wrapped her left arm around his neck, and kissed him again. "Listen, Jade... You need to talk to them," he said breaking the kiss making her sigh.

"I can't Naruto... I'm not ready." He looked on as she got up, and walked to the window.

Naruto walked over, wrapped his arms around her waist, and rested his head on her shoulder. "Jade... I told you Paula won't hate you, and Artemis didn't blame you for leaving... She probably still thinks you're with Ra's and doesn't like that."

"I know Naruto. It's just... How can I face them after so long?" She asked holding his hands with hers.

"Well... The first would be to get dressed. They'll be up in an hour." She looked back to protest but was silenced as Naruto kissed her. "No arguing Jade... You're not a criminal. You're family. You're my girl... My future wife." He said making her eyes widen.

"What. All the girls with me better be in it for the long run. I already talked with Diana about it... Although she's been thinking of it since Donna came into our lives." He said as she smiled, and walked to the connected bathroom. "Want to join me?" She asked as Naruto turned around only to be hit in the face by her shirt.

An hour later, Naruto was standing in the kitchen as Paula and Artemis with her hair out of its ponytail, ate. "OK come on out." They looked at him weirdly before seeing the door to the room that's always locked open.

"Naruto who's..." Paula trailed off lifting her cup of coffee as she saw Jade walk out in a black shirt and dark blue jeans.

"Jade?! What are you doing here?" She asked dropping the cup in shock before seeing her eldest wrap her arms around Naruto's left.

"Na-Naruto Why is my sister holding on to you like that?" Artemis asked standing up and pointed at Jade.

"That's easy sis... He's my boy toy." Jade replied with a smirk before hugging Naruto's arm harder having it go in-between her chest.

"What? When were you going to tell me this?" Artemis asked as Naruto chuckled nervously.

"When the time was right... Jade has been my mole in the League of Shadows, and with that group, we've been fighting." Naruto explained as Jade rested her head on his shoulder.

"And were you thinking of us being intimate with you together?"

Naruto waved his arms in front of him frantically. "No of course not." He said before removing his arm from Jade's and crossed them before looking away. "Even if that would be hot." He said under his breath before feeling dread.

Looking back, he swore he saw Artemis's hair float before she spoke up. "What was that?"

Naruto gulped before speaking. "N-Nothing dear..." He said before putting his right hand to his ear. "What's that Batman? You need me for a very important mission that only I can do?" He nodded before continuing. "OK, I'm on my way." He finished before turning around and spoke over his shoulder. "Duty calls. I'll see you later."

He continued to walk to the hidden elevator before cursing under his breath. "Can't have nothing in this house." He opened the closet and walked inside.

"I heard that!" Artemis yelled as Naruto went into the elevator, making him slump his shoulders.

"Damn it!"

Belle Reve; September 28, 12:00 CDT.

Naruto, in a Henge (Transformation Technique), has him with brown hair in black jeans, and a dark blue shirt walked in the women's side of the prison before turning down a hall, and into a room. "Hello Crystal." Naruto greeted releasing the Henge (Transformation Technique) into his costume.

He looked to see Killer Frost sitting on a bed with a few buttons of her shirt undone showing her cleavage.

"Hello, Kage. Come for a good time?" She asked making him sigh.

"No Crystal... The only reason I chose a conjugal visit was so we could get a room with no cameras." He replied before sitting on the bed having her sit sideways on his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Anything you can tell me about Hugo? Or have you been hearing things from the inmates?"

"Nothing from the inmates other than saying they'll have their vengeance on the League, and things of that nature. But Hugo says that the group he is working for is planning an attack for Freeze, Icicle Jr., Cold, and I sometime in November. And that they have a way so it will seem like we'll be here during it. I think we'll be remote controlling it here or something." She explained drawing circles on his chest.

"Oh, and they're planning on having Ivo bust out of here for a job by replacing him with an android version of himself. And I overheard Cluemaster's doing something soon in a... The week I think." She finished before looking up to Naruto and smiled. "Now... Why don't we get to the fun part so you're not a liar. I know heroes are supposed to hold good values and morals."

She started unbuttoning her shirt causing Naruto to sigh. "No Crystal. We can't do that..." He stopped as she pulled her shirt open showing she's not wearing anything underneath. "... Yet..."

An Hour Later.

Crystal Stumbled out of the room with a big grin, and hair in a mess as Naruto calmly walked out and smacked her ass getting her to jump. "See you later Crystal," Naruto said before leaving, and discreetly turned on his glasses. "Good thing she agreed to just make out. Although only if we took off our shirts."

He looked around before seeing Hugo walk into his office. Naruto created a Genjutsu (Illusion Technique) to make it look like he was walking out, and camouflage himself before walking up to Hugo's office, and scanned Hugo through the window on the door. "Yes, everything's ready to replace Ivo for a few hours.." Naruto narrowed his eyes before hearing a distorted male voice speaking through the phone.

"Good, I'll have Copperhead get him out next month. The specimen though is not ready for his talents yet." Hugo hung up the phone as Naruto Hiraishin (Flying Thunder God) away.

Gotham; Naruto's Penthouse, September 28 18:00 EDT.

Naruto was watching TV. before hearing the door knock. "Hold on, I'm coming." He walked over and opened it.

"Hello beloved."

Naruto blinked as Talia in her civilian clothes stood in front of him. "Hello, Tal... Beloved?" He asked confused as Talia wrapped her arms around his waist, and smiled. 'Guess Jade was telling the truth.' He thought as she leaned in before he stopped her advance.

"Talia... I want you to be sure you want to be with me. And not just passing your feelings for Bruce, and Matthew on to me because of what I told you." He said as she looked down.

"I thought about this for months Naruto... You're the only one that won't ask me to give up my... Life.. like Bruce. And doesn't see me as Ra's daughter like others."

Naruto sighed before looking at her. "OK. Let's give it a try. But on one condition." He said making her look at him.

"I'm not leaving the Shadows, or am I telling you anything about my father's plans."

Naruto shook his head before speaking. "Nothing like that. I always tell the girls I like to think we'll be in it for the long run. So any kids we may have. If they don't want to be a part of the Shadows, you don't force them and You don't train them until they are teenagers... Unless they want some training. I would like them to have an actual childhood, something I never got... Due to both my burden and choosing to be a ninja." He saw her look thoughtful for a moment before smiling.

"OK."

"OK. We'll set the date to go out when we're both free." He said before removing himself from Talia.

Only for her to grab his face, and pulled him in for a chaste kiss. "Can't wait." She replied before trailing a finger across his jawline and walked away with a sway in her hips.

"Sometimes I think these girls are going to be the death of me," Naruto said before walking back in and sat back down on the couch.

"Who was that?"

Naruto looked to see Jade walking out from the hallway, and over to him. "Talia dear."

She glared down at him as she put her hands on her hips. "I told you. No pet names." Naruto rolled his eyes before laying down allowing her to lie down on him.

A few hours later, Paula walked in to see her eldest, and Naruto sleeping on the couch, with his arm around her waist. She smiled before turning off the TV. and covered them with a blanket before turning off the light. 'I'm glad you came into their lives Naruto... Especially Jade's. Who knows how she would have ended up if you weren't here.'

A while later, Naruto's phone vibrated causing him to groan before picking it up. "Yeah?" He groaned out before Roy spoke up.

"Hey listen I'll be needing some help in a few hours. I'm tracking Dr. Light in Jump City." Naruto looked to see Jade hasn't woken up before replying.

"OK, I'll get to the Cave by then."

Jump City; September 28, 22:00 PST.

Red Arrow looked around through binoculars before putting a hand to his ear. "Red Arrow to Kage." After a moment, Naruto spoke up.

"Yeah."

Red Arrow continued to look around as he talked. "Anything on Dr. Light in the database?" He heard Naruto type before answering.

"Kind of old because he hasn't been up to anything for a few years. Just that he can control, and steal lights from anything. Says here he was able to wrest control of anything that emits lights even Green Lantern rings, and he's a genius too. Wouldn't know it from choosing a stupid name."

Red Arrow puts the binoculars down before speaking. "Says you Fishcake." He could hear Naruto's teeth grind at that.

"It's Maelstrom damn it!"

Red Arrow looked up as a purple glow flew past him before landing down on the empty street. Picking an arrow out of his quiver, and connected a rope to his bow before shooting the arrow down. He zip-lined down before seeing a female Tamaranean with black hair, and purple eyes.

She looked to him and spoke to him in Tamaranean.

"Look I don't understand-Hmf!" She kissed him for a moment before pulling back.

"I said my name's Komand'r or Blackfire... Where am I?" She asked as Red Arrow rebooted his brain before raising an eyebrow.

"You're on Earth. Any relation to a Starfire by chance?" Blackfire's eyes widen at that before grabbing him by his shirt, lifted him, and shook him.

"How do you know her?!"

"She's on a Team with friends in Rhode Island... At the very least a day from here on the East Coast." She dropped him before floating up. "Wait... She's on a mission until the first, a few days from here." She looked at him as he continued. "And you don't know the way, Let me finish here, and I'll take you to her."

A few hours later, they came to a warehouse and saw a bright light come from it. "Oh, Blackfire. A word of caution... Don't use your blasts. He can control lights so he would be able to use them against us. Don't know if he could control your energy bolts or not but just need to be careful just in case." Red Arrow explained having her nod her head before they walked inside, and saw a Dr. Light at a worktable barely finishing up something.

He's wearing a black-white trimmed full bodysuit with a light-bulb theme.

"Dr. Light! You're under arrest!" Red Arrow exclaimed as Dr. Light smiled with him putting on his gauntlets.

Light emitted from his hands before shooting beams at them forcing them to dodge. He created whips out of the lights before cracking them and attacked as Red Arrow shot several arrows at him. Blackfire's eyes glowed purple before shooting bolts at Dr. Light having him crash into an old printer. He got up, and wrapped a whip around her mid-section, only for a blue glowing arrow to hit him as a bust of air out of it.

His whips disappeared as Blackfire flew over and kicked him across the room. "You cannot stop me!"

Dr. Light exclaimed, climbing to his feet again. "You're resilient, aren't you?" Blackfire asked, kicking Dr. Light in the chest once again.

"You cannot stop the-" Blackfire kicked him again. "Light can never be-" Blackfire kicked him again. "If I can just get-" Blackfire kicked him once more, sending him through the wall having Red Arrow blink at her.

"Can we go now?" She asked in a bored tone.

Metropolis; Bibbo's Diner, September 29, 20:00 EDT.

Naruto looked up from his plate as M'gann, in her disguise, ate her burger. "Having a good time Megan?" He asked as she smiled.

"I am Naruto." She finished her burger and took a sip of her chocolate milkshake in a glass cup getting a little on her mouth before feeling Naruto wipe her mouth with a napkin, and blush.

"Oh, and here I thought you got past the cute blushing phase." He said making her blush harder before standing up and took her out.

After walking down the street, they came across a carnival and walked in. Naruto noticed a game of throwing darts at balloons and smiled at one of the prizes. "Would you like a prize Megan?" She nodded as they walked over, and Naruto paid the vendor for the darts.

After expertly throwing the darts, Naruto pointed at one of the stuffed animals before looking to M'gann. "Close your eyes." Doing that, she felt a small stuffed animal in her hands, opened her eyes, and gasped seeing a green baby gorilla. "I read your reports, and saw the 'super adorable baby gorillas' in there."

He said smiling and kissed her before taking her on the rides and walking back to a Zeta-Tube. "Well, it's getting late. We should get back to the Cave. I planned a movie night for everyone." Naruto said walking into the phone booth her M'gann following after.

Fawcett City; September 30, 15:00 CDT.

Kage walked up to the Batson's residence before knocking. After a moment, he saw Billy's Uncle Dudley answer the door. "You here for Billy? He already left to the Watchtower." Naruto shook his head before answering.

"No, I'm here for Mary." Dudley blinked before allowing him inside the apartment.

"Mary! Company!"

Mary walked out and gasped before dashing over to Naruto. "Oh my gosh, you're Kage! I'm your biggest fan! Can I have your autograph? Oh, this is awesome I never get to see Billy's friends."

Naruto smiled before pulling out a digital camera. "I just met your brother outside of meetings a few days ago. How about a picture?" Dudley took a picture of a smiling Mary standing beside Naruto who had his hand on her shoulder.

"I was wondering if you would like to join my Team Mary. I want another powerhouse for the Team for when my daughter and Superboy are on a mission, and not with the Team." Naruto explained leaning against the wall as Mary smiled.
