"We talked about taking a trip to Italy," she continued, her voice hitching. "Alexander wanted to see the Amalfi Coast. We were going to rent a little boat and sail along the cliffs, stopping in tiny villages and eating gelato by the sea." She clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms as she choked on her tears. "We had planned a grand wedding," she said, her voice barely a whisper. "He wanted it to be perfect. A celebration of our love that would officially make us a couple in the eyes of everyone. I already had my dress picked out, and he was so excited about it. We were going to dance until dawn, surrounded by everyone we loved."
