I Was Saved By A Goddess

MSG – Volume 1 – Chapter 3

Skimming over the details of what happened in the torture chamber, he reached a point where he began to pray for any being out there that could hear him to save him.

*'Help...'*

*'I don't care who or what you are...'*

*'Please... Just please... put me... us, out of our misery...'*

*'I don't care if you want to dissipate or eat my soul as a price.'*

*'Please.... Anyone... I do not care for the price...'*

That was the first time he heard Lilith's voice in his head.

"Are you sure? Will you really pay any price?"

At first, he thought he was hallucinating, but it did not take long for him to snap out of his daze and grasp at the only chance that he had gotten.

*'Yes! I don't care what the price is, as long as you put us out of our misery and do not put us into a similar or worse situation!'* he readily accepted.

"Hmmm…" the owner of the voice seemed to be mulling things over. "I suppose it would not really hurt to reveal a little bit of my power. They may believe that this is my last-ditch effort to grasp at some great chance. A new king is needed to replace the last one, and your soul seems so unique. I have never seen anything like it."

"I can't believe those traitorous fools actually signed off on your death rather than trying to pull you over to their side." Although she seemed to be speaking to him, it did not seem like she wanted him to actually answer.

"Anyways, it's their loss. I'll help you out," she said. "All you have to do is swear that you will not turn against me in the future."

He did not have to think much about it as it was better to survive as well-treated slaves than enduring torture every day.

He was already about to give her his answer when she added:

"You don't have to swear an absolute allegiance to me... Just don't do anything to negatively impede my efforts."

With those words, what was the need to think any further?

He accepted immediately:

"Yes! Yes, I accept!"

He had ended up shouting his response out loud in his eager state.

Hearing the recently-silent and unresponsive 'bad omen' that they were torturing suddenly start shouting strange words, the other people in the torture chamber glanced at him, shared knowing looks, and then started laughing.

"He has finally lost it!" They exclaimed with glee.

"Even someone like Solon the Ruthless Spear can lose it and break down once enough pressure is applied."

"Haha!"

They all laughed at him and resumed their vile actions.

The twins' pained groans resumed with even more intensity.

He shut his eyes very tight, trying to focus on reaching out to the owner of the voice that had been in his head earlier.

He was about to ask when and/or if they were really going to intervene but he stopped and immediately snapped his eyes open as he felt himself falling down.

He was experiencing gravity?

Wasn't he nailed to a pillar?

He opened his eyes, and what he saw made him scream in sheer horror.

He seemed to be in some red space in which he could not see the bottom.

There were no ends no matter what direction he looked in.

"Ah!!!!" He continued screaming until he felt himself suddenly stop moving.

He was suspended midair.

Looking around, he tried to understand what was happening but before he could say 'Scooby-doo, where are you?', he started screaming again as he started flying in a certain direction.

As there were no landmarks in that space, it was impossible to tell if it was north, west, south-east, south, or any other cardinal point.

Soon, he stopped moving again, and this time he spotted the first thing (living or nonliving) other than himself in that space.

There was an island in his line of sight, one so large that despite the angle of depression of his sight, he could not see every end of the floating mass of land.

There were all kinds of architectural structures, beings, and forestry on the island.

He doubted his eyes.

Were those really skeletons? Wearing clothes and armor and walking around?

Were they interacting naturally with other humanoid beings?

Pale skin, fangs, and the habit of drinking that red liquid which looks like blood… wait, is it perchance really blood?

That one is biting directly into the neck of some beast I have never seen or heard of before… yet I somehow know its name.

*'Maybe it's due to the partial memories I inherited from my namesake, the original owner of that body.'* Wait, that's right.

Looking down at himself, he realized that he was back to the appearance he had on earth. He was no longer possessing the White Knight's body.

He did not dwell on it longer as he heard the sound of some commotion.

While he was in a daze, the fanged individual he speculated to be a vampire had gotten surrounded by a group of large wolves.

Those things were taller, plus or minus the same height as the pale fanged man despite being on all fours.

They also seemed to have….

*'Are those Sabretooths?'*

The college student could not help but stare blankly at the scene while mulling things over in his mind.

Vampires… Sabretooth Wolves… strange monsters… walking and talking skeletons… talking corpses… men and women with purple and pink skin respectively coupled with tails with sharp ends, horns, and wings…

"Did I end up in some part of hell or something?" he wondered aloud.

He actually got an immediate answer to his question.

"I would not refer to a place where so many people thrive together as hell, but I suppose I see how some foreigners may see it that way since demons are the denizens."

Startled, he immediately whirled around in the air to look at the source of the voice—the same one he had heard back in the torture chamber.

Beside her, he could also see the other two individuals that were being victimized in there.

"Well, this is quite interesting." The owner of the voice had a smile on her face coupled with a curious expression on her face. "I suppose this explains why your soul is not what I expected."

As though mirroring her thoughts, one of the twins, the female, spoke; "I thought you said you were bringing us to see Solon. I don't see him anywhere. Also, who's this person, Mistress?"

"I never said I was bringing you to your friend." The owner of the voice that was in his head folded her arms beneath her twin peaks. Her black-painted lips curved into a knowing smile as she added:

"I simply said I was bringing you to see the last person who was being mistreated with you in that dungeon."
