"You said you'd do anything I said last time, right?" He responded. Blinking at him, I tried to recollect my memories, then remember them.
Oh right, that night where I practically begged him not to fire me but in the end, look at me now. I drew my gaze away from him. "I assumed you didn't agree? Also, after that time, didn’t I leave my job?"
He paused typing as he raised his head and stared at me "But you're now employed in this store. My shop. That is to say, I accepted your proposal."
I snorted. "What? That agreement is not valid anymore, you hear me?" I clarified, breathing in and out to relax. I notice that today I'm easily irritated. Well, I’m aware that I have always been a bit short-tempered however, my hormones have been acting up ever since I met Eion the robot, and my forehead has started to develop more pimples. I let out a sigh. This is the result of dealing with guys like him for days on end. I'm in desperate need of a break.
After about an hour of handling orders, a girl approached me. "Could you please give this to him?"
Her minions behind her giggling excitedly as she requested in her irritating high pitched voice. She made a shy gesture towards Eion.
I breathed in again. Snow, she's a customer. Calm down your horses. Saying that to myself, I forced myself to smile at her.
"You're referring to that old couple over there?" I inquired, curious and innocently as if I had no idea what she was on about. I mimicked her actions and pointed to the couple beside Eion, just to make sure I wasn't hearing things incorrectly.
"No," She made a shaky motion with her head.
"Then to whom, ma'am?" I smiled my phony smile once more. Thank the heavens, I had practiced this type of smile. I've been holding a grudge against everyone I've met today for some reason, but adding to these girls' flirting game just gave me a lot of reasons to explode right now.
"To the guy in the plain white shirt."
Dammit. I already know you're a stu-no, er, pretty petty girl. They all giggled maniacally at each other and turned to talk in their hushed voices... as if they were that hushed. From a mile away, I could hear every word of their "conversation." They've been here for quite some time, and it irritates me.
Is it true that they have nothing better to do but flirt? Actually, you have a lot of options this summer. Why did they choose to come here when they could go to the beach and meet a lot of hot guys, or binge-watch movies, or stay at home and read a ton of Wattpad stories? Oh well, at the very least, we'll have sales for today.
I let my gaze wander to the robot, er, Eion. He was squinting his eyes to the monitor while dragging the keys on his laptop. Something was different about him today...
I hate to admit it, but he looks...handsome, especially now that he's wearing an eyeglass, because the penetrating emerald eyes behind it looked so serious that I felt like he'd break someone to pieces if they dared to break his focus. This gives the girls in front of me an excuse not to leave and enjoy the "sight," as they see it.
Oh, please, I've had enough of that guy lately. I'm in desperate need of a break.
"Please?" A member of the group stated. I can't help but roll my eyes, albeit in my imagination.
I've been itching to roll my eyes since earlier, but they're the customer. Eion, my new boss, had been criticizing me about my service and attitude. Also, if I try to be bitchy today, I would be fired. I can't afford to lose that now that I've done everything including begging Eion to stay here, with me quitting, and him bugging me for days, and me swallowing my pride.
If I get fired now, I won't have any money. Without money, there will be no food or basic necessities. If there is no food, you will starve to death. I'll starve to death if I don't eat only grass and earth's soil, or I'll die an incomplete, fatal death. Overall, do not roll your eyes; it will lead to your death.
I'm ready to fight now that I've determined my motivation. I closed my eyes and turned to face the leader-girl. There is no other option. "All right, fine."
They squealed with delight, and the leader of the group ordered another one because the first strawberry ice cream she ordered was melting. "Don't tell him we gave it to him..."
"We want to remain mysterious," one of her henchmen added.
I simply nodded to get it over with and proceeded to Eion.
Because that guy's table was in a far corner of the shop, I had to excuse myself from the other customers several times.
When I arrived at his table, I remained silent as I placed the strawberry ice cream on the edge of his table. He looked at me as if I were insane, "I didn’t order anything."
"It was given to you by someone," I explained. "Enjoy," I said as I quickly returned to the counter. I don't want to say anything to anyone that I'll come to regret just because I'm in a bad mood.
I don't need any more adversity in my life.
After seeing my actions, the four girls thanked me and marched back to their table, where they sat directly across from him. I had just finished wiping down the counters when a voice from nowhere spoke up.
"Hey, stupid," Eion exclaimed.
