Chapter 47- Loyalty and trust P1

The week had passed relatively quickly for Kang Lei and luckily for him he hadn't seen much of Dominic around the mansion since they had kissed.

Though Kang Lei was somewhat pleased with this outcome has he planned to avoid Dominic, he didn't like the feeling of he himself possibly being avoided by Dominic and as hypocritical as it seem it made his resentment towards Dominic grow.

Now that it was the weekend he had to wait a further two days before hoping to steal a glance at the man he wanted to avoid.

"My little BoBo do you want us to go to the park today? it's quite sunny out" Kang Lei asked looking out the window, he wanted to distract himself from the thoughts currently running through his head.

"Sure daddy, I'll go get dressed" BoJing who was at the Kitchen counter jumped down cheerfully and went to get dressed.

kang Lei had gone to prepare some snacks for himself and BoJing when a "knock" was heard at the door. Kang Lei was puzzled of all the years he had lived here he never had visitors.

Kang Lei went to the door and was meet with three large males, one who was an alpha and the other two betas. They all appeared as though they were from some important career ranks guessing from their attire. Kang Lei stood looking puzzlingly at them for awhile, as he couldn't fathom why they were at his door, "can I help you?" Kang Lei finally asked, awaiting a reply.

"Yes may we come in and speak with you for a moment?" asked one of the beta males by the far left, he gave Kang Lei an expressionless face but his tone was soft and welcoming. Kang Lei wasn't so easily naive to just let them into his home. "No... may I know who you are first?" He replied back. The alpha male said no words and looked displeasingly at Kang Lei while holding up a badge that read PGIB (Private Government Investigation Bureau).

Kang Lei had a blank expression on his face as if to say, was the badge supposed to explain who they were and why they were standing on his doorstep. "Look that means nothing to me use words, why are you here?" kang Lei asked this time clearly showing his frustration and annoyance at the situation.

The alpha male became annoyed and glared at Kang Lei dangerously, "are you a fool we are from the government, so let us in or be arrested for failure to comply" he said with a smirk thinking he had scared Kang Lei.

Kang Lei rolled his eyes at the absurdity, but knowing how these kind of departments worked it's best to get this over and done with quickly, because whatever it was he had no intention to giving them any information.

He stepped aside and allowed the men to walk in who were surprised at the cramped space in which Kang Lei lived. Just then BoJing came out of the bathroom "daddy am all ready" he said looking around the room at the now new faces, he bowed his head politely and looked to his father for an explanation. "BoBo these men wanted to ask daddy some questioned why don't you stay in the bathroom for awhile while daddy finishes up here" kang Lei told BoJing who simply nodded and did as he was told.

The men in the room looked inquisitively at kang Lei, and within moments their eyes fell upon his neck where he should have been marked, the stares made Kang Lei uncomfortable to the point where he placed his hand on his neck awkwardly glancing around. "Ahem... well Mr Lei, let's get straight to point shall we" the alpha male spoke finding a place to sit, while the other two beta males stood on his either side. Kang Lei thought it best they did so as he wasn't going to make them stay long.

"Sure go ahead, what is this about?" Kang Lei answered.

"Firstly my name is Mengyao Da, the two gentlemen behind me are my subordinates. I am a lead investigator for the Private Government Investigations Bureau, I can't reveal why we're here today, but please know it's a matter of national security. Therefore it is imperative you answer our questions truthfully. Ofcourse if there's anything you need we can see too it that we help you as long as you help us do you understand" Mengyao Da stated flatly with not outward emotion.

kang Lei understood this as you scratch my back then I'll scratch yours, Kang Lei simply bowed his head and gave a weak smile for Mengyao to continue.

"First is your name Kang Lei?" Mengyao asked

KL* "Yes"

MA* "Do you go to Mozing Culinary imperial university?"

KL* "Yes"

MD* "Do you work at the residence of a Dominic Lanxian?"

KL* "Yes"

MD* "In what capacity?"

KL* "I am a trainee chef, a position which is required for my university internship"

MD* "what is your relationship with Dominic Lanxian?"

At this question Kang Lei paused slightly, they were nothing, their kiss was nothing Dominic was simply his boss.

"he's my boss, we have no relationship" Kang Lei said unconvincingly.

The Mengyao saw his hesitation and decided to question again, "are you sure he's just only your boss?" He questioned in a somewhat condescending tone.

Kang Lei regained himself and this time answered confidently "am sure he's only my boss".

Mengyao Da wasn't convened and responded with a "mmmm. I see"

"Is it true you was in Mr Lanxian bed?" He asked as if he had caught Kang Lei in a lie.

Kang Lei looked confusingly at Mengyao Da why was he asking such a question, then he remembered what happened that day and reality dawned on him now he'll have to decide to be loyal or traitor.
