Chapter 31- Meeting BoJing

The time was getting later and later, yet Dominic still hadn't let Kang Lei go. Anxiety finally got the better of him, and he hesitantly built up the courage to ask, "Mr Lanxian, I do apologise for being a nuisance, but.... I.... need to pick up my son from school. Would it be possible for me to leave now?" he asked with his eyes lowered and voice soft.

Dominic smirked, this was what he had hoped for, now Kang Lei had no choice but to let him escort him.

"What time does your son finish school?" Dominic asked, pretending he didn't know anything about the countries school system.

"Erm… He... finishes now" Kang Lei replied.

Dominic feigns shock, raising his eyebrows "oh am sorry, since it's my fault for keeping, why don't I drop you off to pick him up?".

Kang Lei with wide-eyes wave his hands in protested "oh no Mr Lanxian, I wouldn't want to trouble you, I'll get there in time, if I leave now I should be able to get late bus"

"Am not taking no for an answer" Dominic said in a slightly cold tone, immediately getting his coat and walking out of the mansion.

A perplexed Kang Lei had no choice but to hurriedly follow behind him.

The car ride there was one of an uncomfortable silence and awkwardness, Kang Lei had never been in such an uncomfortable situation.

"Gosh, this is so embarrassing…. How could I let him drive me all the way here…? Wait, his he is being this nice because he's planning to fire me... ahhh, this has got to be the unluckiest day of my life...." Kang Lei nervously looked out the window worryingly debating his future in the next few hours.

"Have you always wanted to be a chef?" Dominic suddenly asked out of the blue.

"Huh?.... Well.... I have always been alone... so I had to teach myself how to cook. After a while I realised that I loved it and started playing around in the kitchen, making various dishes, or improving on those that I was familiar with. When I got to university I decided it was something that I wanted to pursue, the rest is pretty much history". Kang Lei spoke with passion; you could hear from his voice that this was something he genuinely enjoyed doing.

Dominic became fascinated listening to Kang Lei,. Not many omegas he had met were this ambitious. They either wanted to be rescued from their sad lives or tried seducing a rich alpha, Kang Lei was a refreshing change.

Before they knew it, they had arrived at BoJing's school. Because Kang Lei was late, BoJing was taken to the teacher's office for late pickups.

Kang Lei raced to the office with Dominic in tow, even though he had protested several times for him not to come. Upon reaching the office, Kang Lei bowed and apologised several times to BoJing's teachers. The teacher, a beta, wasn't the slightest bit impressed with the omega. "We do not provide an after-school day-care facility Mr Lei, please don't make this a habit", BoJing's teacher said sternly.

Kang Lei couldn't have been more humiliated having Dominic witness such a scene, he apologised again and quickly grabbed BoJing ready to leave, his day seemed to getting worst by the minute. At this point, he wished the ground would just swallow him whole.

As he went to leave, Dominic who was still behind remained where he stood, "Mr. Lanxian?" he called back at Dominic, whose eyes were fixed firmly on the teacher. "Kang Lei, you and your son go on ahead, I'll just need to have a quick word with the teacher", he smiled at Kang Lei saying.

Kang Lei hesitated; Dominic's aura was strangely oppressive, "Oh... okay", he answered, seeing the fear in the teacher's eyes as he left the room.

"That scared me just then, why is he so serious, should I go back?" Kang Lei ponder for a moment outside the door. "No…. Let's not get involved, alphas are a bit crazy sometimes" he mutter to himself as he continued to leave.

When Kang Lei had gone far enough away, the smile on Dominic's face faded. His eyes became blood-red and an overpowering amount of pheromones was expelling from his body. He came face-to-face with BoJing's teacher and whispered close to his ear, "if you ever speak to him like that again I'll kill you". he said in a cold almost animalistic tone

The teacher shuddered at his words, his legs' barely holding him up, as fear filled his body, "am… Sorry... I'll never do it again, I….i… promise" he shakily managed to say.

Kang Lei and BoJing were waiting by Dominic's car, "his he, okay?" he muttered worried, "is who okay daddy?" asked BoJing, his father had appeared nervous since he walked in with the strange man from earlier. "Oh….erm" as he intended to answer, Dominic appeared, but he was taken aback when he thought he had seen the colour of his eyes changed, "huh? What was that, did I imagine it?" he thought to himself, he was convinced he was going mad today.

"You're back, I was getting a bit worried, I thought you may have got lost", Kang Lei said dismissing his foolish thoughts.

"Everything is okay now, I have explained the reason to the teacher. It was my fault today anyway, so it's only fair I clear things up before I leave" he calmly replied.

"Mr. ... If you don't mind me asking, who are you? Are you, my dad?" Asked BoJing out of nowhere.

Dominic and Kang Lei were both startled and quickly looked at BoJing and then at each other.

"Mr. Lanxian, am so sorry... No... no little BoBo this is my boss, Mr Dominic Lanxian" Kang Lei embarrassingly answered.

"Huh?" went a puzzled Dominic, for a moment he stood bafilled, a million questions racing through his head, "did Kang Lei not say the kid's father had died? ... Wait??…. Has he not told him?..... Did he lie to me?..... His he really not dead…...he interests me more and more… I need to call Michael urgently for that information" he thought.

Seeing how uneasy Kang Lei had become, Dominic quickly composed himself and focused his attention to the bright little boy in front of him, he was like a miniature copy of Kang Lei. "Good day young man, am very sorry for making your daddy late and as your daddy said my name is Dominic Lanxian, and what's your name?" He spoke gently with a not often seen smile.

BoJing hesitated for a moment, his first thoughts were that Dominic looked handsome and refine most of all he was tall and big, a bit like a superhero, he was truly worthy of Grandpa Chong's praise. He immediately took a liking to Dominic. Looking to his father whom he thought was acting a little different, a satisfying smile came to his face as he realised his father may like Mr Lanxian too, so he internally decided he needed to make a good impression for his both their sakes.

He respectfully bowed and in a highly etiquette manner introduced himself. "Good day to you Mr Lanxian, my apologies for my earlier remarks, my name is BoJing Lei, and it's a pleasure to meet you. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for employing my father, we are both very grateful."

Dominic lightly chuckled, he placed his hands on BoJing's shoulders to make the young boy arise from his business-like bow, "There's no need for such formalities, young man". He was both impressed and amused by BoJing's attitude.

Stooping down he came face to face with BoJing, who appeared a bit stiff, Dominic frowned while he lightly tilted his head, he began in a somewhat hurt tone, "Do I look that scary? Please be comfortable with me. In fact, you are not allowed to call me Mr Lanxian. Why don't you think of a name you would like to give me, and I promise only you will ever be able to call me by that name, deal?" smiled Dominic happily holding out his pinkie to seal the deal.

Kang Lei and BoJing were speechless, "oh Mr. Lanxian, we can't do that, what would others think if he were to address you so informally" Kang Lei intervene, he didn't want others to think badly of BoJing, it would be seen as incredibly rude for a young child to address a non-family member informally, much less his boss that he had just met today!

"Mr. Lei, would you like to give me a name too?" the question even stunned Dominic himself.

Stupefied Kang Lei quickly refuted, "HUH!??....Sir, I wouldn't dream of it".

"Then I guess I'll only have one of you, so BoJing do we have a deal?" he continued to hold out his hand to BoJing.

BoJing Looked to his father for the answer, "it's up to you" Kang Lei answered, entrusting BoJing to sometimes make his own decision was an important part of Kang Lei's parenting.

Placing his little finger around Dominic's, BoJing smiled happily, "yes sir, we have a deal".

"Great… we can work on your father later" Dominic said cheekily, enjoying the now flustered reaction from Kang Lei.

"Come I'll take you both home" he said opening the car door.

"Oh, Mr. Lanxian, that's fine we can take the bus… you must be busy, I wouldn't want to keep you any longer" Kang Lei tried to politely decline.

Taking a few steps towards Kang Lei, Dominic lean inches away from his face, "are you declining your boss Mr. Lei?"

Flustered and panicked, Kang Lei back away quickly, "n…no sir… BoJing… let's get in the car", he hurriedly grabbed BoJing's hand and headed into the car.

Dominic was all too amused by Kang Lei reactions, "could his face get any redder" he chuckled to himself.
