CHAPTER 9: I LOVE IT!
The ferry boat docks safely at the port, and dock workers are busy unloading some cargo, others assisting with vehicles and guests. Athena was preoccupied with taking notes of every detail of her surroundings in her mind. She has activated the live stream on her button camera as soon as the ferry docks.
She appreciates CamZ for sending this mini spy camera to her. She tested it as soon as she received the package and was amazed that the images are clear even if you enlarge them and the audio is clear. CamZ is always on top of everything when it comes to her gadgets. She would rather stay in her workroom than hang out with them. Good thing that there's a field mission for her to work on, or else she will be like a caveman.
Athena automatically sets the live stream to save on her laptop, so she doesn't have to worry about keeping it.
She will have time to watch and forward it to CamZ and others to know the location, although they will be here a day before the event to familiarize themselves. Athena feels it necessary for them to have a visual look in advance.
She was engrossed looking around that she did not realize Marco stopped walking ahead of her and waited for her to catch up. He was amused watching her look around like a lost pet and was trying to find her owner.
"Ouch!" She mumbled as she scratched her reddened nose. She looked at Marco with a pouting mouth. He shook his head and clasped her hand so they could walk together. Bumping into a sturdy man is not funny.
He looked down on her and asked, "Does it still hurt?" She gave him a snobby look and replied, "Uh-huh." He smirked at her and suddenly picked her up and carried her in a bridal style. He gave her nose a quick smooch and asked, "still hurting?" He's glad that the impact is not hard, or she will have a bleeding nose.
"Not anymore..." she replied shyly. If CamZ sees how she's so ladylike in front of Marco, she will be surprised because she's one of the boys on their team. She was a tomboy growing up because her dad influenced her. Her mom always reprimanded her dad because of it, but he assured her that she would change eventually, just like her aunt, his dad's little sister.
Marco gave her a peck on her nose then lips. She blushed and looked around to see if someone saw them. He laughed at his wife's reaction. He can't believe how charming and innocent his wife is. And he loved it.
"Put me down," she said in a low voice while avoiding his gaze. Though she is active in showing intimacy in private, she is embarrassed to show it in public.
"Hmm... kiss," he sticks his lips out and closes his eyes.
Athena looked around shyly, gave him a quick peck on his lips, and jumped off of him. She stretches her dress and walks fast ahead as if nothing happens.
His back stiffened, and he realized what had just happened. Athena was so quick that he wasn't able to react right away. He shook his head in amusement and followed her to the hotel.
"Hello! Welcome to MC Hotel and Resort!" The receptionist on duty greeted Athena with a warm and friendly smile.
"Hi!" She replied, smiling slightly. Athena looked back to see if Marco was behind her. He nodded at her, and she continued talking to the receptionist.
"We have a reservation under Marco Chavez?" She said in a questioning tone. She's not sure if he could make a reservation for them. She saw online that it's not easy to book in this hotel. A guest should at least make a reservation a month or two ahead of time.
The receptionists looked at Marco with confused eyes. He gave her a nod, and she smiled at Athena. "Please give me a second, and I'll check it for you," she said respectfully. She then pretended to check the computer, but if only Athena looked at what she was doing, she would see her sending an SOS message to the Front Office Manager on duty.
Not even a minute later, a man in a business suit hurriedly approached them.
"Sir and Madam, welcome to MC Hotel and Resort!" He bowed and gestured to them. "Please follow me," he said nervously. He is not aware that their big boss will show up today. A week ago, they had a meeting about the upcoming event, and the management informed them that they had to expect their boss's presence at the said event. And there's gossip that he got married.
Seeing his interaction with the woman firsthand, the manager confirmed their relationship.
They entered the elevator, and the manager pressed on the number 10. Standing side by side inside the elevator, Marco clasped Athena's hand and did not let it go until they reached the 10th floor. The manager stopped at the end of the hallway and unlocked the door. Athena noticed that this door looked more secure and expensive than the other doors that they had passed. She thought Marco booked the most expensive suite for them.
They entered the suite one after another. The design and decorations of this suite are somewhat similar to Marco's room in the mansion. Athena walked to the floor-ceiling window and gasped at the view in front of her.
"It's so beautiful," she exclaimed. She's been to a lot of beach resorts, primarily while working on her missions, so she really can't appreciate the beauty of those resorts. But today, although her reason for asking Marco for a weekend getaway is because of her mission, she has plenty of time to enjoy it with him.
Marco hugged her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder. "Do you like it?" He asked.
"Yes! I love it!" She turned her head to her right, meeting his eyes and their lips almost touching each other.
"Thank you for bringing me here and spending more time with me," she was touched by his effort to spend more time with her. She knows how busy he is with his business, but he sets it aside and accompanies her. She blushed and turned her head back to its original position.
"All for you, my wife," he said dotingly. She rarely asks him something, so he makes sure to make it happen when she does. He loves spoiling her. But she was so independent, and it scared him sometimes. He wants her to depend on him for everything.
