I Need A Reassurance

Du was about to complete his sentence when his phone rang. He immediately answered the call when he saw who was on the caller's ID.

The cold and blood draining voice suddenly became calm and sweet. "Sweetheart."

Qiao Min stood there wondering could have made her boss's voice this calm and sweet, he even called her sweetheart. But no matter who she was, she was grateful that her boss didn't complete his statement because she knows fully well what he was about to say.

Du Lixin gestured her to leave the office and she immediately left the office in a blink of an eye.

Xiao Li's voice came from the other line. "Hello Du Lixin."

Du Lixin sweetly answered. "Sweetheart are you still at the cafe?"

"I just left there that's why I called you, you asked me to do so when I leave the cafe."

Du Lixin warmly said. "You won't have any other class today right?"

"No." Xiao Li slapped her mouth immediately she said that. She remembered what happened the last time she said she had no classes.

Du Lixin smiled when he heard that. "Okay, I'll send uncle Su to pick you up."

"Why, to where?"

Du Lixin chuckled lightly. "To my company, I want my wife to know how rich her husband is by just seeing one of my companies."

Xiao Li scoffed and mumbled. "Show off. Du Lixin I'm really...."

Du Lixin immediately interrupted. "No excuses, don't worry sweetheart, what happened this morning won't repeat itself ".

Xiao Li yawned form the other line. "Du Lixin I'm really tired and I'm also feeling sleepy. Tomorrow will be better since I'm having classes 3:00pm."

Xiao Li slapped her mouth again after saying that.

"Okay then I need a reassurance."

"About what?"

Du Lixin grinned. "A reassurance that you'll come over tomorrow."

Xiao Li asked confused. "What kind of reassurance do you want?"

Du Lixin smiled warmly. "Call me Hubby."

"Hm?"

"I said call me Hubby."

Xiao Li shook her phone, pretending to have network issues. "Du Lixin I can't hear you clearly, what did you say?"

Du Lixin Chucky, knowing she was pretending. "Don't worry, you'll have to say it tomorrow." Then he hung up.

Xiao Li jumped in excitement when she saw that he has ended the call.

She kept her phone in her bag and playfully mimicked what Du Lixin said. "I need a reassurance so call me Hubby, hubby, hubby. What's so sweet about that word."

She paused when. she remembered that she told him she won't be having classes till later in the day tomorrow.

She continuously slapped her forehead as she said. "Gosh Xiao Li it was just a simple lie, you could just say no. Tomorrow is another day of torment."

She stood for a while and stopped a taxi that took her back to school.
