Can I go Home or Not?

"Raza… you're not cheating, are you?" A professor asked.

Raza's class had recently taken an exam, and of course, Raza didn't attend any of the classes. He spent his time studying in his room or while he was on the Succubus mission. It was a relatively easy test, considering that Raza could just access his memory log at will.

"Why would I need to cheat for a simple and easy test? It would be a disgrace to my name," Raza replied with confidence.

"Passing is one thing, but receiving full marks!? Raza, you don't even attend class," The professor was getting annoyed.

"I think my grades would have dropped if I did," Raza responded.

"OUT!"

The door was slammed shut after Raza exited the professor's office. This was a common occurrence at this point. All of his professors were praying for Raza's downfall, and their last hope was the festival at the end of the month. There were still two weeks before it would happen though. Some professors tried to forge evidence, but Raza was able to disprove all claims against him.

'These professors are all idiots. They should all just admit their lack of usefulness to me and back off," Raza inwardly sighed.

He walked towards the cafe on campus. This wasn't his original plan, but Leora and Drifa wanted to meet with them there. Apparently, sharing meals was a requirement for maintaining friendships. Raza tried numerous times to create a method to get friends without putting in a lot of effort, but it was all a fruitless effort. He sighed.

"Oh! Oh! Raza, over here!" Leora called Raza to her table.

"Hello," Drifa said in her usual monotone voice.

Leora and Drifa were sitting right next to each other. Normally, they would have made Raza sit in the middle, but they had something else planned today. They both leaned into each other, trying to use their combined sexual appeal. Leora gave a cheeky smile while Drifa's expression remained unchanged.

"Who will you sit next to?" They both asked in unison.

Raza sat across from them and stared at them. He wasn't aware of what they were trying to do, but it was amusing for Raza to see them put on some form of act. He rubbed his chin.

"I wasn't aware that you two grown so close. Was this the power of sharing a meal?" He asked.

"Ah… no… There was just no one else to hang out with while you were gone," Leora sighed.

"Even then, shouldn't one's relationship grow over time regardless?" Drifa tilted her head.

The moment she said this, both she and Leora sighed. They knew that Raza was a lost cause, so they decided to switch the topic.

"How was your mission?" Drifa asked.

'Nice one!' Leora inwardly praised Drifa.

"My mission was fine. I had to fight some people, and I met the ambassador of the Mutant Kingdom," Raza said like it was nothing.

"What!" They both leaned forward.

"Isn't she a succubus too? What did she have to say about your job? Was she angry at you? Did you almost die? What happened? We need details!!" Leora asked in rapid fire.

"Hmm…"

Raza thought about anything interesting to tell them. There was a clear disconnect. To Leora and Drifa, his large-scale battle and his experience in dismantling a succubus's illusion without using Dispel would make an interesting story. To Raza, that was just the average experience.

"The ambassador, Allura Lustenfallen, was loyal to her husband," Raza nodded his head.

"Really? That's it?" Leora was disappointed. "Isn't that the point of being married?"

"No, you'd be su…"

"It's really hard for a lot of people to stay loyal to one person. Even more so for Succubi because of their abnormally high sex drive. The most logical reason for her loyalty is that she most likely had a Full Name Marriage," Drifa cut Raza off.

It may have been for the better. Raza was going to say something depressing, and that would have ruined the mood.

"Raza, you won't cheat on me when we marry, would you?" Leora looked at him with teary eyes.

"What's a Full Name Marriage?" Raza ignored Leora.

"It's a type of agreement. You can use your Full Name in order to agree to something or make an oath. The reason why people do it is because of the consequences of breaking a Full Name Oath. The God of Truth will personally come and punish the offending party," Drifa informed them.

She was proud of her ability to share the information, and she felt like she was the smartest person there. Raza thought about the possible uses of this oath. He reasoned that you couldn't force one to take the oath… but you can convince them to take an oath. Leora crossed her arms and nodded several times.

"Raza, when we get married, we will have to take a Full Name Oath," Leora sounded a bit too serious.

Raza ignored that comment. Once he processed this new information, he looked up.

"Perhaps sharing a meal is an important aspect of friendship," He said.

'Not every meal will involve sharing information,' Both girls sighed.

Drifa then remembered that she had to tell Raza something. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a letter.

"Before I forget, I received another letter from my father. He told me not to read it and just to hand it to you," She informed him.

"Thank you," Raza took it and put it into his inventory.

"Aren't you… going to read it?" Drifa tilted her head.

"Why? The weekend is coming up, and I intend to spend it at home," Raza met Drifa's eyes.

"B-because it may have information about another mission…"

"That does not concern me," He shrugged.

"It literally does," Drifa gave up.

'Knowing Father, I'm sure he knows about Raza's… priorities. I didn't know that he would put his mission to the side this quickly though just to go home. Is he alright in the head?' Drifa couldn't help but question.

Meanwhile, Raza remembered that he received a letter this morning. It was signed by his father, but he wasn't able to read it since he had exams. Raza finished his meal and stood up.

"I just remembered that I received a letter from my father. I need to go back to my room."

"I'll come with you!" Leora shot up.

"I'll come too," Drifa stood as well.

The trio cleaned their trays and made their way to Raza's room. There was a letter on his desk, and he picked it up and opened it. Upon reading the letter, Raza's expression turned pale. This worried Leora and Drifa.

"What's wrong? Is your family okay?" Leora grabbed the letter.

When she read the contents of the letter, Leora clenched her jaw. It took everything she had not to laugh. She handed the letter to Drifa, and she had a similar reaction. Though it didn't show on her face, Drifa was shaking from her attempt to hold back her laughter.

The contents of the letter:

"We are going on a family trip, so don't come home

-Alden Angovo"

Drifa gently put the letter back in Raza's hands and backed away. The two girls looked at each other and nodded.

"Sorry, Raza, but I just remembered that I had… uh… homework to do," Leora was bad at lying.

"Me too," Drifa left the room with Leora.

Raza let out a heavy sigh. He wondered why he couldn't go on the family trip with everyone else. It was more than likely because they wanted him to make more friends. He felt betrayed.

He put the letter in a drawer that was full of letters that he had received from his family. The majority of it was from Dove and Blythe, and they were asking for things to bring back home.

"I suppose I have time to read Duke Montgomery's letter," Raza sighed.

He pulled out the letter from his inventory and read the contents of the letter. This time around, he wasn't called to go and meet the Duke. The letter contained the location where he had to go as well as a brief explanation of what he would be doing.

It looked like Raza would be escorting a caravan this time around. It was an extremely vague description. He didn't know who the client was or what they were delivering. Raza sighed.

'I hate vague missions. Whatever, it must have been either sensitive information, or I'm helping someone smuggle goods. How will this help build my reputation though?'

Raza grabbed his jacket and checked on his guns. He still didn't spend his points from before, but he was sure that he would find a use for them soon. It was better to be ready to adapt to a situation than to be set in your ways. At least that was what Raza believed. Once he was ready, Raza left his dorm, heading to the location of his new mission.

Yeah, I tried to put in some down time, but that just didn't work out... But this mission was fun to write!
