Are You Not Tempted?

When Raza woke up in the morning, the first thing he noticed was the smell. He opened his eyes and saw a group of bodies. When he saw Fumi, he sighed.

'I even warned her.'

This was a skill that Raza developed in order to keep himself safe. When he was asleep, his subconscious would take control of his body if it felt threatened. After examining the scene, Raza was able to guess what happened.

'Since all of the bodies were a few feet away from me, they must have alarmed me before entering the room. My best guess was some sort of sensory magic that set off Sense. I must have gotten up, loaded my pistol, and fired as they entered the room. Fumi was the last one to come in and gave up without even fighting. Too bad I can't tell the difference between who's a threat and who's not,' Raza deducted the previous night's affair.

He looked up the morning sky and sighed to himself.

"Sorry, Fumi. I killed you for a third time."

Raza left the bodies in the room. It would serve as evidence that he did his job, and he had no obligation to clean up his mess. Unfortunately, his clothes were dirty. Raza wandered around the abandoned town and eventually found a working well. He used the water to clean his clothes and hung them on a clothesline in one of the homes.

'I don't plan to attack until tonight. I'll assume I only won against those succubi because they were surprised, so I should scout out their campsite,' Raza planned his day.

Raza carried jerky with him to eat for breakfast. After his meal, he did maintenance on his pistol. He stayed in another building and used one of the rooms for a temporary workshop. He then pulled his assault rifle out of his inventory. Unlike his revolver, this assault rifle used mana to conjure bullets and explosive magic to fire them. It was a mana guzzler, but Raza was sure the power output would be worth it. He then studied until noon.

After packing up all of his things, Raza made his way towards the camp. Just like Krieg said, the group of succubi made a base at an abandoned warehouse. Raza found a vantage point, so that was where he stayed at. He used sense to scout them. He was able to see about 25 total targets.

Each person glowed a different color when Raza used Sense. The soldiers glowed white while Krieg and the lieutenant glowed yellow. Fumi was orange. Based on this, Raza concluded that the warmer the person was, the stronger they were. He saw a lot of oranges and pinks in the group.

So far, from weakest to strongest, the ranking was White, Yellow, Orange, and Pink. Raza watched them until dark. He wanted to conserve his mana while at the same time, being able to exterminate the group effectively. Raza waited until he was sure that everyone had returned to the camp.

There was one way to make sure a single man could win against a group. That was the element of surprise. As long as Raza was able to control the tide of battle, everything would work smoothly for him. He moved down his vantage point and prepared his move.

Raza wore his enhanced gloves and had knives strapped to his waist, arms, and his left thigh. A similar setup that he used to have in his previous world. Of course, he had his pistol as well.

Sneaking through one of the windows, he used sense to navigate his way around the building. There were sentries patrolling the camp to make sure no intruders attacked them. Almost immediately, One of them caught a glimpse of Raza.

"Who are y… Agh!"

A knife was swiftly lunged into her neck, stopping her from alarming anyone else. Raza sighed as he hid the body behind some crates. That was a mistake that he had to avoid making twice. He paused for a moment to see if anyone had heard the woman, but no one came.

Most of the succubus slept in the same room. It was a large area, and they had mattresses all over the floor. Raza wondered why they chose to invade the kingdom just to live in these poor conditions, but at the end of the day, it didn't matter. They would all be dead soon.

Raza formed a bright white orb in his head. Once he was satisfied with the amount of mana he used, he threw it into the room of women. He hid behind a door frame leading into the room.

BANG! RING!

The Flash Bang created a bright light followed by a deafening noise that filled the room. Screams and panicked voices soon followed which were met with gunshots. Firing with near-perfect accuracy, Raza quickly rained bullets into the room. Some of them were able to recover and ran behind cover. Raza ran to a different hiding space and reloaded his gun.

"The sound is coming from the East side! What's happening!?" Someone yelled.

"Someone is attacking us! Half of us are dead, and the intruder is using some kind of unknown magic!" Another woman reported.

The first woman was glowing pink while the other was only orange. Raza was already moving around so that his location wouldn't be pinpointed. His gun was loaded, and he was looking for his next targets.

"I got ya!" A succubus came up from behind him. She bit into Raza's neck.

"Aahh!" He screamed as he pushed her off.

The succubus poured magic into the bite. Everything began to shift and swirl right in front of Raza's eyes. It was difficult for him to even keep his balance.

"I got you right where…"

BANG!

Raza sighed to himself.

'Dispel really was handy. However, I am using a lot of mana. I should end this soon,' He thought to himself.

The only reason why Raza was still standing was because the succubi were still unorganized. Once they regain their composure, they can easily overwhelm Raza with their numbers. Of course, he wouldn't let that happen.

One by one, he snuck around the room, either stabbing or shooting each succubus that he found. With each kill, his eyes went dimmer and dimmer. All of his old habits were surfacing as he was executing the mutants. Finally, it was down to one.

BANG!

The succubus blocked the attack with a magic circle. It was the one that was asking for a status report from before. Raza examined her, looking for an opening.

"I must admit. I'm surprised that such a young human was not only able to take out an entire camp of succubi but is also tolerant to the toxins in the air," The woman chuckled.

"This place smells no different than a brothel. If anything, the average man is just weak if they can't control their lust," Raza commented.

He was getting tired, and he didn't want to fight this woman one-on-one. The woman examined him as she licked her lips.

"You are handsome… maybe I should keep you as a pet. What do you say?" She offered.

"I refuse," Raza said coldly.

"A shame. I would have treated you good too… At least until you were dried up," The woman shrugged. "Oh well."

At that last statement, Raza dashed forward, trying to catch her off guard. It was a wasted attempt as she formed fire bolts to fire at him. Raza stared into her eyes and used their movement to predict where she would fire.

Dodging most of them, one of them hit him dead on. He swiped his hand, using Dispel and closed the distance.

'Ha! Even with dispel, you could only take care of one spell at a time, and your mana is already low!' The woman smiled.

She put up a magic circle to defend herself, and just liked she predicted, Raza dispeled it. The only difference was that Raza didn't plan to use his pistol. The woman was prepared to counter the pistol, but her eyes widened when she saw a much bigger gun.

Raza didn't give her time to process this as he riddled her with bullets. The recoil of the gun was too much, even for Raza, so he ended up dropping it after firing half a magizine. However, it was enought. The woman was no longer recognizable.

He fell to the floor, heavily panting. It took everything in him to not pass out.

'Now I just have to wait until Krieg and the other get here,' Raza thought.

He sat up and pulled a water container from his inventory. Raza took a sip and then poured some of it on his head. However, the sound of heals hitting the floor prevented Raza from relaxing.

'There's more!?' He turned around but it was too late.

The mysterious woman was already in the room, and she was right behind Raza. For the first time in his entire life, he felt a seedling of fear as this woman ran her finger across Raza's chin.
