Special chapter 7 – I am my father's son.

[Third person POV]

"Father, I…. I am sorry I met my biological grandmother, and he told me about…."

"Shut up Kaiden," Zoey says angrily, "how dare you meet that man."

The boys were confused by Zoey and their father's reaction, they felt a chill down their spine as their father glared at both of them.

"Father?" Kaiden says, "I am sorry, I know you love mother, and her cheating is..."

"Who is cheating?" their mother asks in a drowsy voice.

"No one, go back to sleep I will discipline the boys," their father says angrily.

"Father, I think it is better to just tell them the truth," Zoey says.

"What truth? What are you talking about?" their mother asked.

"Kaiden decided to meet Ellen Mule," their father says in a growl.

They had never felt so sacred, it was clear they knew about Ellen Mule and his family, it was clear they knew Kaiden was not a Beckett.

But what hurt more was how their mother looked at them with fear, how tears started rolling down her eyes and how her legs gave out, "mother?" Kai yells running to aid his mother.

"Oh… is that so," she said in a hurt voice, she looked at Kaiden with hurt in her eyes, "okay, you can call me all the manes in the book."

Kaiden had never regretted a thing more in his life, the hurt in his mother's face, "Leah stop it, he has no right to say a thing about you, we raised him with love," their father says.

He angrily glares at Kaiden, "okay so you want to leave and go reunite with your family? Go ahead, go ahead and reunite with your family," Clayton says angrily.

"What? What is going on? I don't even understand what is going on," Kaiden lets out his frustration.

"Some old lady called me to talk about how you were not my father," Kaiden says before bursting out crying.

"All he did was get a DNA test to prove that you were his father, why is everyone angry at him?" Kai defended, "if anything you three should have explained to us why he is not your biological son."

The three of them were silent for a moment, their mother still crying, "we just wanted you to have a happy life, we wanted you to feel loved," their father says.

"Well, he did he grew up with love, now explain," Kai says angrily, Kaiden was grateful even with their differences his little brother was able to protect and defend him.

"We are sorry," their mother says, "I think we will need to sit down for this."

Everyone had sat on the couch, Zoey decided to make everyone tea to calm them down, their mother had calmed down a little.

It is their father who started telling the story and it made them hurt, Kaiden was angry at himself, he had believed an unknown woman and accused his mother of many atrocious behavior.

"I am sorry," Kaiden says in tears, "I should have asked you guys before I…."

"Hey stop stressing, we were the bad parents here to not tell you about this," Clayton says hugging his crying son.

They all huddle up in a group hug, "we love you okay, regardless of who your father is or how you came to be, you are our son, and we love you."

"I am sorry," Kaiden says, he knew they loved him, even him being a product of sexual assault didn't stop them from loving him, the only thing that made him hurt was ever doubting his parents, specifically his mother.

They had decided to spend the next day talking about all the other things about the family tree, Kaiden's phone kept ringing with Crystal's calls, he just ignored them all.

They had spent the rest of Zoey's visiting days not worrying about other things, they had had dinners with their uncles and aunts and cousins, it felt refreshing.

After a week Zoey left for Italy, it was a bummer, they had enjoyed seeing their sister again and it hurt that they have to see her go again.

"Hey, behave and don't make stupid decisions again," Zoey says hugging the two.

Soon Kaiden will be going back to college and Kai will be back in high school. And their life will be back to normal, but Kaiden felt he needed to do something before they can have their life back.

"Oh… you are here, finally, I was wondering if you hated your grandmother," Crystal says as Kaiden arrives at the coffee shop, "please have a sit."

"I will keep this brief," Kaiden says still standing up, "leave me alone, I know what happen between your son and my mother, and your son is not my father, never is and never will."

Crystal was appealed by this; she had thought after how Clayton made sure the story about the incident was erased from all social media and news outlets, they would not tell their kids about the incident either.

"They don't love you; they are using you as revenge..."

"Shut up, you are only here to squeeze out as much money as you can," Kaiden says, "and that money you got last week will be the last money you get."

"I am your grandmother by blood," Crystal argued, "wait till I tell the world how you abandoned an old woman."

"Go ahead, you speak so proudly for someone who had been supporting a sexual assault perpetrator," Kaiden says with a growl, before storming out the shop.

As he was rushing out, he accidently bumped into a young lady, the most beautiful lady he has ever seen, "um…. I… I am sorry," he says.

"It is okay, you don't need to apologize I was not looking where I was going either," she chimes in a cute voice, before waving goodbye and walking away, he felt some sort of waying watching her walk away.

After leaving the hospital he decided to visit the psychiatric ward Ellen Mule was kept in, as he pulled into the parking lot, he felt nervousness in his body.

But he decided to power through and cut his ties with the monster, "oh, Mr. Mule has a visitor already, you can wait," the lady in the reception said.

But one of the guards walked to him, "oh it is your little brother who is inside you can go ahead too."

He didn't wait because he knew Kai was to do something stupid, and as he arrived, he heard the gut-wrenching screams of Ellen Mule.

"Oh… you are here to save me, this hooligan is acting like his father, son, save me," Ellen pleads to Kaiden.

"Kai stops what you are doing," Kaiden says.

"It is not my fault your mother was a sl*t," Ellen says, making Kai stop and look at Kaiden, "so this is the man you are defending?" he asked, Kaiden had taken a deep breath before joining Kai to beat him down.

"You are not my father, stay away from me and my family," Kaiden says to Ellen who was lying lifeless.

The boys paid the guards to keep this a secret, but it only took a few hours before the story of Ellen Mule being beaten up in his room and being moved to another psychiatric ward broke out.

They arrived now with the clear evidence they were the ones who beat him up, luckily no one was at home, at least that is what they thought.

"Clean yourselves up before your mother see you, she hates violence," Clayton says, "we are having dinner, we will talk after that."

The dinner was quite tense as the boys knew they were in trouble, but luckily their mother was oblivious to what was going on, getting scolded by their mother was worse by being scolded by their father.

"You mother is asleep, come on sit down," Clayton says, the boys hesitantly walk to the seat next to their father.

"Why did you do that?" he asked, "you are much level headed than Kai, I didn't expect that from you."

"In his defense he tried to stop me," Kai defended.

Kaiden drops his head with disappointment, "yeah, I am sorry, he just called mother names and I lost it. Guess I am my father's son."

This made Clayton chuckle, "yeah you are your father's son, you should have seen how I beat him up, you might be my son, but you can never outdo the master."

The boys were confused, "you are my sons, and I am happy you are," Clayton reassured, "you will always be my son, and never doubt it."

The boy smiled before hugging their father as they knew he was becoming a bit emotional, "come on dad, no crying, you are ugly when you cry." Kai teased.

"Shut up, I am just proud of you guys," Clayton says hugging them tighter, "oh, just make sure your mother never knows of this, I don't want to sleep in the dog house."

Kaleah was standing in the top of the staircase watching this all unfold, she could help but smile at the cuteness of the men in her life, they sure are the same.
