Chapter 47: Peace
Lucas and I are taken home on the same plane and I can see the composed look on his face beginning to wear off. Lucas excuses himself when we land, claiming he has a few things to address with his council. I’m guessing they need to look for a new advisor to replace Alfonso. I debate going after him to check on him but I know sometimes he needs space, so I head back to our quarters and take a bath to relax after the long day.
After I finish my bath, I pull on a plush robe and grab my water bottle to curl up on the couch and wait for Lucas to come back. A few minutes later, I hear the door in the entryway opening and I assume it is Lucas. I stay quiet at first, wondering what took him so long to get back here.
When Lucas comes into the room, he has an odd look on his face. I can tell he is breathing heavily and he looks quite jittery. When he comes closer, I see that his hands as shaking, and now his breath is becoming shallow.
