Dating

She smile widely holding the dress and shoes when Lisa and Mrs Ray made way to the living room and sighted the thing in her hand and the box fall on the floor.

"Who got you those things?" Lisa inquired sternly.

"It’s none of your business." Rachael replied, sticking out her tongue.

"Honey!!" Mrs. Ray yelled at the top of her lungs as Rachael attempted to walk to her room, and Mr. Ray emerged from his room cleaning his face.

"Why are you barking like a dog?" He remarks and Rachael hid the dress and shoes behind her back immediately.

"Rachael just got a gift from someone and she is refusing to tell me where she got it from." Mrs Ray stated coldly.

"Rachael, is that true?" Mr Ray inquired.

"She didn’t ask me, Lisa did." Rachael replied.

"Where are the gifts and who got them for you?" Mr Ray inquired.

"A friend of mine got it for me because I told her I didn’t have anything to wear to the talent show." She replied, showing him the dress.

"It’s from a friend. Why are you guys overreacting?" Mr Ray remarked, and Rachael started walking to her room when the letter fell on the floor.

Lisa spotted the letter and ran to pick it up. Rachael's heart flew away from her chest as she saw the letter in Lisa’s hand.  

"I am doomed." She remarks, holding the dress close to her chest.

"Dad, look what I found." Lisa said, handing him the letter.

He looked at the letter and turned to Rachael.

"So you have started dating." He said, walking close to her, and Rachael walked back.

Lisa and Mrs Ray smile evilly looking at them as he approaches Rachael.

"Dad, I can explain," she muttered.

"Explain what? That you have a boyfriend without my knowledge?" he asked bluntly.

"I'm sorry, dad, I was about to tell you," she mumbled.

Mr Ray stood back and stared at her.

"Who is he?" he asked bluntly.

"It’s it’s Steve." She stutters.

"I am not angry with you because you have a boyfriend without my knowledge, but I am angry with you because you didn’t tell me." He remarks.

"We just started dating. I was looking for the right opportunity to tell you." She muttered.

"It’s okay, you have reached the age where you can have a boyfriend." He remarks, and Mrs Ray and Lisa’s jaws dropped. They were surprised by his gesture.

"Thank you, daddy." Rachael said with pouted lips and gave him a light kiss on the cheek before entering her room.

Mrs Ray was boiling with rage. She didn’t believe that he could let it slide.

"Honey, you are not angry that she is dating the boy that concealed her all those days?" she asked, looking at him.

"Why will I be angry? He is rich and capable." He grinned, walking away, and she glared at him.

"Mum, I can’t believe this. He is supporting Rachael." Lisa muttered.
