Chapter 7: Do not lie if you do not want it to become true.

"Why do you skip lunch?" Lan Xing asked as they walked back to their dormitory. Earlier, it's about to 1 in the afternoon when Hong Yue woke up. They ate a quick lunch before going back to their classroom.

"I don't. I just forget it." Hong Yue answered as he breathed. He looked at the smartwatch on his wrist. He sharply inhaled before he stopped in his steps.

"Hm? What's wrong?" Lan Xing asked and turned to Hong Yue. The sun has already set and there are students walking back to their dormitory like them.

"... you go first." Hong Yue told Lan Xing.

Lan Xing noticed Hong Yue's strangeness again. "Why?" he asked.

Hong Yue looked at Lan Xing but he didn't move from his place. "Just go." He said.

"... do you need the toilet?" Lan Xing asked.

Hong Yue's face burned. "Yes." He answered. "So, you can go first." He told him.

Lan Xing stared at Hong Yue for a while before he nodded and left. Hong Yue sighed in relief as he lowered his head and checked the number of his steps for today. "Exactly 100." He muttered and sighed. He took deep breaths to regulate his breathing. I have to lessen my footsteps when I'm in class. He thought as he sat on the nearest bench. When he reached it, he felt he's short of breath. Fortunately, Lan Xing didn't notice it earlier. He thought when he remembered he's holding his breath earlier. Am I going to stay out here until the next day? He thought and looked at the cold bench before he helplessly sat. "Maybe I should call..." our butler –

"Hey. Have you finished?"

Hong Yue's heartbeat sped up and he clutched his chest when he was startled. He turned and saw Lan Xing standing behind him. His face darkened and he looked at the HRM on his wrist. "... can you normally appear?" he asked him.

"You didn't go to the toilet." Lan Xing told him.

"Are you a stalker?" Hong Yue asked. "I think I have to apply for a change in dormitory and classes – " he said.

"The nurse told me to watch your lifestyle." Lan Xing confessed. "You passed out due to exhaustion and you even vomited." He said.

"That was just an accident – " Hong Yue said.

"Now, you're my roommate so I have to watch your sleeping habits and... other habits." Lan Xing said, ignoring his words and he glanced at his smartwatch. "Are you this frail?" he asked when he saw the 102 steps on the pedometer.

"Yes." Hong Yue answered.

Lan Xing stared at him. "... you can't walk." He said.

"No." Hong Yue answered.

"... I'll carry you." Lan Xing told him.

Hong Yue didn't move and just stared at him. "Are you this meddling?" he asked him. He has been a straightforward person and he had offended many people before.

Lan Xing stared back at him. "No." he honestly answered. "But, I just feel obligated since the nurse told me to look after you. I am your roommate, too." He explained.

"... you really don't need to." Hong Yue sighed. "I'll just call someone to pick me up." He told him.

Lan Xing suddenly remembered the weird person named 'Huang Anyi'. Should I leave him to that person? He thought and saw Hong Yue was dialing a number. Before he knew it, he already grabbed Hong Yue's phone.

Hong Yue's eyes widened. "What are you doing?" he asked.

"I – " Lan Xing said. Should I tell him? He thought before he bit the bullet. "Yesterday, a person named 'Huang Anyi' had called and told me to tell you they'll be busy." He explained.

"Huh?" Hong Yue was puzzled.

Lan Xing felt he had to stand by his words. "Sorry if I hadn't told you. I forgot it." He said and looked at Hong Yue whose face couldn't be any blanker. Did I overdo it? He thought.

"... they really said that?" Hong Yue said as his brows knit in confusion.

"... yes." Lan Xing lied through his gritted teeth.

Did something happen to uncle? Hong Yue thought. Did she give uncle a trouble again? His face was covered in dark lines.

Lan Xing saw Hong Yue's troubled expression. "Did something happen at home?" he asked.

"No... forget it." Hong Yue sighed. "You really want to help me?" he asked.

"Yes." Lan Xing immediately answered.

Hong Yue stared at him for a long time before he spoke. "Don't tell me you fell for me?" he asked.

"No." Lan Xing immediately answered. "I only want to help those who are in need." He explained.

Hong Yue's brow twitched. "You're just a busybody." He told him. Seeing Lan Xing didn't answer, he sighed. "Fine. Turn around." He said.

"Why?" Lan Xing asked.

"... do you want to carry me like a bride?" Hong Yue's face darkened.

"Oh." Lan Xing muttered and thought about it. Seeing Hong Yue frowned, he immediately moved his bag on his chest for Hong Yue to climb on his back.

"... thanks." Hong Yue said as they finally resumed walking back. Uh, no. It's only Lan Xing who's walking. He thought.

"Why can't you walk for so long?" Lan Xing asked as they passed by the streetlights.

"My heart is weak." Hong Yue answered.

Lan Xing fell silent for a while before he spoke. "If you want to eat something tomorrow, let me buy it for you." He told him.

Hong Yue suddenly felt a warm feeling in his chest. "Thank you, but I don't eat that much – " he said.

"No skipping lunch." Lan Xing said as he pressed the elevator's button.

"..." Hong Yue didn't answer.

"You're not a woman to go on a diet." Lan Xing added.

"..." he can't refute it!

"Huh? Lan Xing." Someone called from behind. It was Lan Xing's teammate in the basketball club. "What happened to Hong Yue?" he asked.

"He sprained his ankle." Lan Xing answered.

"Oh. Be careful next time!" he told Hong Yue.

"... yes." Hong Yue nodded and forced a smile. I'm not this careless! He thought. However, since they cannot explain it clearly, this is the best explanation they can give.

The elevator opened and the three of them went inside. "That's right." Lan Xing's teammate said when he remembered something. He turned to Hong Yue. "I am Hei Yuanqi." He introduced himself. "I think it's unfair that I only know you and you not know me." he smiled and reached his hand.

Hong Yue smiled back. "Nice meeting you." He said and shook Hei Yuanqi's hand. Now that he thinks about it, Hei Yuanqi looked familiar. "Have I met you somewhere?" he curiously asked and his eyes squinted behind his eyeglasses.

Hei Yuanqi looked surprised. "I don't think so... ah." He said when the elevator's doors opened and his eyes lit up when he saw someone outside. "Right. I think we might have met." He said as eh walked outside. "This is my roommate, Bai Wenhe. Now that I remember, we are your neighbors!" he told him.

Hong Yue turned to the fair man who's taller than the dark-skinned Hei Yuanqi. Suddenly, his eyes widened in surprise when he realized it. "You're that - !" he said and excitedly moved on Lan Xing's back, only for him to slip off his back and fell on the floor of the elevator.

Damn it. His ankle spraining just became true.
