Fight
Ji Yu feeling guilty for gathering everyone for the sake of luring the snake out of hiding, left Ru Ran to chase everyone back home. He insisted that there is nothing anyone can do at this point but to allow them to grief peacefully and for Ru Ran to recover as she is still weak. Best if everyone left to allow Ru Ran to recuperate.
Shin Tong stubbornly wanted to stay but was vehemently rejected by Ji Yu. Darren left to get the car refusing to partake in their argument. He drove the car to the main entrance and waited patiently for her. He texted Shin Tong that he is waiting there. After half an hour of wait, he saw Shin Tong coming from the direction of the car park.
"I just read your message when I arrived the car park," explained Shin Tong as she entered the car because she saw the frown and confused look on Darren's face.
"It's dark and not safe to be walking around the parking lot alone, hence the reason I waited here, why don't you read your messages? If you did, it would saved your energy," he grumbled out loud.
"Geez, sorry, I was too occupied to read my messages. FYI, I wasn't complaining about walking around to get to the car, I was just explaining why I came from the car park direction instead of the main entrance," she snaps back.
She then huffed and turned her back on him to face the passenger's window. Initially she felt guilty for making him wait and she was about to give him a peck on the cheek for being considerate of her safety by waiting for her at the main entrance. Now, she just wants to strangle him. What's his problem anyway? She didn't even voice out a word of complaint yet he is being dissatisfied.
Darren drove quietly, annoyed at her for being foolish and at himself for lashing out at her. He is afraid that in his moment of negligent, she might end up getting hurt. With his mind on lurking enemies, his heart is in chaos especially when his imagination ran wild of the possibilities of her getting hurt. He wanted to swallow back those words he said but words once spoken, can't be retracted.
The journey back to her house was quiet. Both were having their own thoughts and feeling guilty but none wanted to back down first. Once arrived, she disembark the car and closed the car door without even giving him a glance before walking away with her back ramrod straight.
Maybe it's good for her to be angry at him, at least he did not need to lie to her about what he'll be handling in the coming hours. He drove off once he saw her figure disappeared from his line of sight. He sped up heading towards the crows location.
He made preparations for the meet up with Ah Li's men. He placed his arguments with Shin Tong aside to focus on his task. Shin Tong on the other hand, finally broke down the moment she entered her room and cried silently. She felt so wronged! She was indeed in the wrong but it wasn't as if a grave mistake! He shouldn't have lashed out on her if he is feeling the pressure of Ji Yu's absence at work on her. Is it because of Kira, he is acting weird? Didn't he say he had no feelings for Kira? Why does he act this way? Is he trying to push her away so that she'd break up with him and he could be with Kira? She stared at her phone, awaiting his message and contemplating if she should text him first. To her utter disappointment, no messages came! She told her parents she didn't feel well and request for leave of absence from work. After tossing and turning, she fell asleep bitterly.
Ken was also busy as Ji Yu had requested his help to manage the company in his absence. There was a lot of things to be done especially regarding a buy out which is already in its last stage but the other party pulled out last minute claiming someone else had better offer. To make things worst, the hospital construction had to be put on hold after he received a news that one of the worker fell down from height to death. Occupational safety and health administration officers have arrived on site with the police to investigate. Ken had a bad feeling this is more than just an accident. Ji Yu had also suggested Ai Sha helped out at the company if she wants.
Ai Sha was moved by the offer, initially she declined it but when she saw how swamped Ken was with work, she decided to step in and help out, bringing them one step closer.
