"That old lady is your mother. She deserves to know where her daughter goes and whom she is spending the night with. Also, Emma did not go to a faraway country where there is no return ticket. She went to an underdeveloped country to help people who need medical assistance. It's not like she cannot come back at all or we cannot go visit her. Tell me the truth, how many people did you bite yesterday?" Mike looked straight into her eyes and asked her.
As the situation looked like there would be no escape without telling him, she lifted her hand. But instead of showing him the numbers, she flicked her finger on his forehead. Then without looking behind, she ran towards the stairs in the hope of getting into her studio workspace before Mike catches her.
"Ouch! You are really getting out of control nowadays! If you keep doing this then you are leaving me with no choice. All I have to do is..." Mike exclaimed and started to chase behind her.
Even after chasing for a long time, he could not get hold of her. So he stopped in between to catch his breath. He held the wall on the sides of his office for support.
"Maybe I should just call aunt Kara… I am going to call her right now," He announced and lifted his phone.
He pretended to make a call but that was enough for Dina to stop in her tracks. She could have reached her office workspace in two steps but hearing her mother's name brought fear in her mind. She came back hastily and tried to snatch his phone. But Mike lifted the phone above her reach with one hand and pushed her face away using his other hand.
"All right! All right, I will tell you the truth. Please don't call her, please..." Dina finally agreed and accepted her defeat.
"Tell how many and who are all the people you bit? Do you have their phone numbers?" Mike asked her.
"It is actually one! Only one! Are you happy now?" She asked while shaking her index finger from left to right in front of his face.
"Even if I am unhappy, I don't think you care about it. Do you? So, what is his contact number?" He asked her
"I don't know. But how do you even expect that after biting him, I would wait there and get his phone number? Are you mad? I don't even remember his face," She told him half-lie and half-truth.
She did really not know his phone number. But she could clearly remember his pretty face as she had just seen him a couple of hours ago. Still, she did not want to inform Mike about that, as it would not make any difference anyway.
Even though Mike knew that she could not remember much that had happened after she drank alcohol, he still could not help but ask her once for confirmation.
"How many times do I have to tell you to stop drinking such heavy liquors? Look at you now, you are turning into an animal day by day! You don't even remember what you did to him? You don't have his phone number? How do you expect me to handle this situation if it escalates?" He became frustrated and poked her head.
"No, you are wrong. This happens only at night, so it is night by night and not day by day. I don't touch alcohol during day time at all. Are you now suggesting that I should start drinking even at day time? Then do you want me to drink even now? Can I?" She asked innocently with sparkling eyes.
"No…" He shouted and asked,
"Are you stupid? How can you talk about drinking when we have just begun the work? Other than booze don't you see anything at all?"
Mike was about to say something but he stopped speaking and looked at her as he felt something was not right with the way she spoke.
She was holding back her laugh by hiding the mouth using both of her hands. Her gleamy eyes made her look mesmerizing. It was no wonder he had been warned by his parents all the time. The more mature a sorceress becomes, the most beautifully dangerous being they will be!
"I am not stupid! You are stupid! You are mad! You are the idiot!" Dina declared and stamped his feet continuously.
"Dina, What are you doing? You are not a kid anymore. Please behave like a grown woman," Mike advised and tried to move away from her.
Dina giggled and then slowly it turned into a guffaw. Mike moved further away from her and looked at her with cautious eyes.
'Did she turn crazy after drinking so much alcohol every day?' He wondered.
"Stop laughing and at least for once listen to me seriously," Mike begged.
"Yes boss," Dina saluted and stood in attention.
Mike couldn't help but smile and he shook his head. He still hasn't got adjusted to her childish behaviors yet. He came from the knight family who swore to protect the Red Fuchsia sorceress family. They had been serving them for several thousands of years now.
He had seen other members of this family but no one was like her. Maybe, it must be because she had not grown up under the Red Fuchsia family. If she had then he wondered how she would have turned into right now.
As Mike did not say anything for quite some time, Dina looked at him with innocent eyes and asked,
"Boss, if you allow me, can I ask you something? Trust me, it's very important and you will understand the reason behind why I am biting people."
"Go ahead!" He gave his permission as he thought that she finally figured out the reason behind her biting habits.
He nodded his head in assurance as he saw that she was hesitating to speak.
"Do you know which animal is the most popular among us that bites?" She asked him.
"No, I don't. Also, I don't want to know. Didn't you say today is the last day to submit the drafts?" He asked.
"Come on, Boss. Be a little sportive here." Dina pouted her mouth and pulled a long face.
"Forget it! Look at me, I left the bag that Aunt Kara gave downstairs. Let's eat breakfast first, I don't know about you but I am too hungry. I didn't even get to eat dinner yesterday, because of some idiot!" Mike uttered and descended the stairs.
Dina followed him while poking his shoulders. Mike felt irritated but opted to stay silent.
"Boss, you should listen to my explanation. How could you just say you are not interested? Tell me boss, which is the animal that bites humans the most?" Dina asked once again.
He could not understand why she was asking him this question out of nowhere. He couldn't relate her question with her biting habits. 'Does she think she is also an animal and that's why she bites?' He wondered.
Dina waited for a minute to get a response from him but as she didn't get any reply, she started to kick his legs.
