50 Is segregation the only answer?

"This is so frustrating…" I muttered as I held the bridge of my nose while having my head facing downwards.

Truly, my life is full of stress… Sure I'm often lucky and get miraculous gifts. However… It's like my life is a game or something. I get amazing items and gifts, just to be put in troubling situations. It's like I'm supposed to entertain a god or some high ass being! Wait… Could it actually be like that? Well, I am talking in a way that makes it seem as if a higher being is listening... Haha, I'm quite the entertainer, ain't I? Cough Cough… Just for you, my precious lady of luck~

I really hope it's her that is the higher being. I mean like, my abilities correlates to the definition of her entire existence. Luck and opportunity. I mean like, with disasters, opportunities arrive. Lady luck must be some sponsor of mine or something, hehe.

Man… Am I lucky, or am I simply cursed… Sigh…

Anyway… I'm making my way out of the town as I speak to you, lady luck or whatever being. There was nothing else for me to look out for, after all.

Wait… I haven't received any notification from the system yet. This means that the mission isn't complete yet, or that I have to bring the information to elder Xuan first. It's probably the latter, but, just to be sure, I will go to a few more corners to listen to a few guys babbling their mouths and making rumors. I didn't go to a tavern though, nor a dark area. Especially not a dark area! Who knows what might happen if I just go into one of those areas…

What I did instead, was walk behind a few groups of cultivators, before switching to another group in order to not seem suspicious. I would always switch groups after every five to ten minutes, unless there was a clear conversation that is related to the mission. Ha! I've played enough stealth games and read enough novels to know what to do… This is what you would call, the wisdom of the Internet. Cough Cough, there is more foolishness to find though, hehe…

So, I've been following this group of cultivators for nearly ten minutes already. To be honest, just like the other groups, I expected them to not have any relevant information. With that in my mind, when it felt like almost ten minutes had passed since I've been following them, I decided to look for another group to follow. But damn would you look at that… Just when I was about to leave, that's when the group in front of me finally decided to talk about something that is relevant to my mission.

"I have to say. I really did not expect there to be so many like us. That dream is really a pain to us all, huh."

Such a sentence became highlighted to my ears the moment I heard one of the cultivators mention that there are others like him. The moment I heard the cultivator's words, my eyes widened immediately, and my ears perked. At that moment, all of my attention was focused at my anticipation for the group's next words.

"Haha, we're lucky we haven't done our sect's mission for this month. If not, we'd be stuck, having to wait for the next month before finding that damned bastard of a racist. How dare he kill one of us!"

Well, since every living thing comes from a plant, they are all different type of races and not just a different type of creature, I guess… Appearance doesn't matter here, then? Because, if I'm not wrong, they consider humans, chickens, and so on, as the Phoenix race, as long as there's the same kind of force within their blood. Hmm… Well, even if it's like that, I'm still not a racist. I treat everyone equally after all… Do I benefit from them? Well, then they're important to me. Do I not? Well, then they're not important to me. It's that simple.

"Hey. Since we're supposed to fight a disciple of another sect, why don't we look for him in the sect. I bet he's in there, since he managed to kill one of us. We're pretty strong you know. There is no way a mortal could've killed a Phoenix-blood."

"Haha, seems like senior sister is always ahead of us when it comes to smarts!"

With nothing else to do anymore, I decided to follow them towards the sect, since I had been planning to go there anyway. I made sure to increase my distance of course. I might be stupid, but, I'm not that stupid that I would let myself get caught in the middle of the road.

Luckily, those guys were planning to take a different route towards the sect. This meant that I didn't have to follow them, since I was heading towards the mountain of Fortune and Opportunity, while they were not.

Thanks to the conversation that I was barely able to hear with my hearing that was enhanced after my last level ups, I was able to come up with an idea that would fulfill my previous plans. So, I believe the group of two are heading towards the mountain of Challenge and Choice… It correlates with their mission after all, plus they would also be able to find me easily by simply requesting a fight with me. That is if I did not hear them wrong... Nah, they are definitely heading towards the mountain of Challenge and Choice.

Now now… My plan is about to bloom soon, and it will be quite the feisty one if its successful,honestly. Kekeke… All I need to do now, is to go to mountain of Fortune and Opportunity in order to bring my gathered information for elder Xuan…
