The Oldest Elder, Alpha Rosebude.

With the events that had transpired recently my mind was clouded, but more or less with wondering why all this was happening to me? Still waiting for Jace to answer the door I rolled my eyes. "Hey perv, open up!" I exclaimed loudly as I beat on the door again. Soon the door opened, and a pungent smell of alcohol came from the infirmary room. It wasn't just the room, but it was Jace that also held the pungent odor. I waved my hand over my nose while I took a step back from him. 'Disgusting.' I thought, as my stomach turned from the smell. "You smell awful! Go take a shower before you look at me. I might vomit if you don't!" I blurted out, trying to cover my mouth and nose from inhaling the nasty aroma.

Groaning as if he really had to, Jace lazily moved towards the bathroom across the hall. He normally slept in the infirmary because of his duty as our medic, but also because he said he felt comfortable being around all the medical supplies. About 15 minutes later, a brighter looking face appeared in front of me. Smiling, I began to tease him a little, "Well there he is and," pausing for a moment as I sniffed the air and continued to say, "Doesn't smell half bad...Now." The look on his face said what he was thinking. "Can it. I wasn't supposed to be disturbed until a few hours before your party. Now what is it you wanted me to look at?" Jace said in a scolding voice. I could tell he really had a hangover and didn't want to deal with a teenager like me today, but it was his job regardless. Looking around to see who else was in the infirmary with us. I saw nobody there. "Don't tell mom. She's going to find out anyway. Justin's back and he grabbed my wrist. Alpha Lockwoode said I needed to get looked at. But what do I know?" I said in a hushed tone, my cheeks turning a shade of bright pink, as I mentioned Alpha Lockwoode's name.

As if he noticed, Jace jumped closer to me. Which only made me lean backward a little. Placing the back of his hand on my forehead, his eyebrows seemed to scrunch together. He then gently took my arm and looked it over. "Why is he back?" Jace asked in a concerned tone as he turned away from me, grabbing something off his desk. "Apparently to 'claim what is his'." I said as I used my fingers for air quotations. Jace just laughed as he turned back to me. "Like hell though." I spoke with cruelty in my voice as I crossed my arms over my busty chest. As Jace turned around to face me again, his left eyebrow raised a little. "Stop crossing your arms. I need to wrap your wrist for now. You do know, I have to report this incident to your mother." Jace said as I uncrossed my arms. As he told me that I nodded, but knew Alexander would be the first to tell me mother. "No need. I have a feeling Alpha Lockwoode is already doing that." I said as I could hear voices in the office next to the infirmary.

"I'm sorry to pull you away from the preparations Luna Bloode, but this matter couldn't wait. I felt as if it needed to be brought to your attention as soon as possible." Alpha Lockwoode said as he looked at her with soft eyes. "Alexander, I told you to call me by my name, but what is this matter at hand?" My mother spoke with a gentle voice. "R...Right." He said with a stutter of sorts. His cheeks were a bright shade of pink, when my mother scolded him for calling her Luna Bloode. "Anyway, it's about Justin. The male you sent away on your daughter's seventh birthday. Apparently he is now Alpha of the Winter Moon Pack. But he put his hands on Alexi. I know of him already, from previous encounters with the Winter Moon Pack, but what I want to know is why was he sent here in the first place? And why is he now an Alpha? You both are hiding something from myself, and Alexi." Alpha Lockwoode spoke as he looked serious towards my mother.

"The reason why he was sent here, that's something you will have to discuss with my husband. He was sent back to Winter Moon because he forcefully kissed my daughter without consent and knowing she was still not an adult yet. Plus we told everyone in the pack to keep their hands off her. Only because of the contract your father held with us. But now, if he knows she's not under contract, you will have to kill him in the final fight for Alexander. He's not a pureblood like we are, but he is the strongest half breed I've ever met." My mother spoke without hesitation in her voice, as she told him as much as she knew. "He was sent for pack training and combative training as well. His father was the Alpha of Winter Moon. Why is he here now and what happened to his father; those are my questions?" He got serious towards Alpha Lockwoode when she spoke about why he was here.

"He wants to take "what is his''. But he had no claim to where the claim has already been. I can already see Alexi taking a better liking to me, than him. If he wants to fight, then I'll fight him. If I must kill him, I will." He told my mother firmly, then started to leave the office. Once he was at the door, he stopped and spoke softly "But before I have to put an end to him, I thought you ought to know the deal we struck up in the garden. He was assaulting and threatening Alexi and the pack's lives if she did not comply with his words. But she was strong, until he grabbed her. I did send her to the infirmary to get looked at. Don't worry about her for the moment. Justin's the threat." Alpha Lockwoode said as he looked over his shoulder to my mother. His eyes were fired up, and very ready to attack anything it seemed. "The deal between us was, if he was to win, I'd lose my pack and my claim to your daughter forever. And if I win, he becomes my lap dog. Under oath and will lose all claim to the Winter Moon Pack. Along with Alexi as well. He will have to suffer under my watchful eye, and watch how our lives will progress without him being a threat. Now, if you'll excuse me. I promised to check on Alexi after she went to the infirmary." He spoke with a gentle tone, the bowed to my mother. "If any harm comes to her Alexander, I'll..." My mother began to say, then was cut off quickly. "I'll make sure to keep my treasure perfectly well kept, like she's always been." Alpha Lockwoode spoke with a gentle tone and left the office quickly; leaving my mother speechless in the office. He moved towards the infirmary where I was listening in on them both. Jace too, by my side.

Both of us jumped, when a knock came from the door. Finding a place away from the wall, we both looked like we were talking to one another now. "Come in." Jace spoke with a clear, but loud voice. As the door clicked open, Jace spoke again without looking behind him. "If you'll wait a moment over there, I'll get right to you." He pointed towards the direction of his office desk. "Ah. No, I am not in need of medical attention. I merely came to check on Miss Bloode here. And to tell her, that her mother's been informed on the matter at hand." Alpha Lockwoode spoke with a gentle tone as he watched me with soft eyes. "T...Thank you Alpha Lockwoode." I sooke meekly towards him. Turning my face towards the floor, I was obviously trying to hide my darkened cheeks. "Just call me Alexander. The formalities should be for major events only. I may be an Alpha, but I treat everyone as an equal. And I sort of expect to be treated as one as well." He spoke, this time telling me to call him Alexander. He was rubbing the back of his neck. I couldn't help, but be drawn in by his awkward smile and pink cheeks. Smiling shyly, I nodded and spoke gently "A...Alright Alexander. You...You can call me Alexi, like you have before." I tried to say something else, but that wasn't what came from my voice box. "Alright." He said with a cheeky smile now playing on his lips.

"Pardon me. But if you are not in need of medical assistance, please exit the infirmary. I appreciate you coming to check on Alexi, but I still have some tests to run on her wrist. Just to make sure there is nothing completely wrong." Jace interrupted our little moment we started to have. Yes, he was a pervert, but he really didn't like romantic sights at all. "Alright, I will wait outside in the living room for you." Alexander began to say as he headed for the infirmary door. "Ah, but that's not..." But before I could get the rest of my sentence out, he was gone from the room. Slapping Jace on the shoulder with my opposite hand, I glared at him. "You idiot! Why do you men insist on walking away when someone is talking? That really pisses me off. I'm going to make him respect what I have to say. And to stay when I say something." I growled lightly and turned to Jace. He was rubbing his shoulder as he looked at me. "That actually hurt. Alexi you're the spawn of an Alpha wolf. You really don't know your strength." He whined as he kept running his shoulder. Rolling my eyes at him, I stood up and said lightly "Do you still need me for anything? I just remember, I had one last meeting. High elder Rosebude will be here. And mom said she wants me to meet them." I looked at Jace, waiting for his reply. "Elder R...Rosebude. No, never heard of them. Go ahead and leave now. We are all done here." Jace said as he stood up. Placing his hands on my shoulders and turning me around; he pushed me towards the door. Quickly turning the knob of the door, he pushed me out. "See you later Alexi." He once again and then closed the door quickly. I could hear the door locking from the inside.

'Was it something I said? And why did he get so nervous when I asked about Elder Rosebude?' I thought to myself and sighed lightly. Wondering what Aquafinia was up to, now. She had been quiet for quite a while. Well ever since the incident with Justin and Alexander. 'I'm not being quiet on purpose. I like to observe. So don't begin to worry.' She spoke gently in my mind. Nodding to her and myself, I headed towards the living room. 'So Alexander, huh?' Aquafinia questioned lightly. I could feel my cheeks heat up at the question she asked. 'After the meeting, he's been very protective. You noticed it too. I don't understand.' I told her as I cast my eyes down to the hardwood floor. My cheeks were burning with an intense heat to them. Sighing lightly, I looked up and headed down the hall towards the living room. Once I stood in the hallway to the living room, I noticed Alexander talking to one of the elders. Though as if he realized my presence, Alexander turned around. "Come sit with us. I've been speaking with the Elder Rosebude. She told me, she has been around since you were born." He spoke gently, and patted the seat next to him. It happened to be between the two, so I reluctantly sat down. "My mother said she helped birth me. But I, myself, have only gotten to meet her now. Which is honestly a pleasure." I spoke gently, as I bowed my head towards her. "No need child. But I must say, your aura is a powerful one." Elder Rosebude spoke in a gentle old tone. "And your inner wolf, she is quite beautiful. As intelligent as you are. But one thing alludes my mind." She started to say, then stopped as if she were thinking. I grew a little nervous, but as soon as she spoke up again I calmed down. "Never mind that last thought. Soon we'll both understand it. Happy Birthday to both, you and Aquafinia." She deliberately said my inner wolf's name and it made her flinch, causing my body to flinch in reaction as well.

"Do you mind if we can talk? Alone preferably? No offense to Alpha Lockwoode. I just have a question for Elder Rosebude." I spoke lightly, though not bothering to look at Alexander at that moment. As if he noticed my tone of voice, he stood up. "Come find me in the garden once you're done. I will speak with you more later, Elder Rosebude." Alexander said as he bowed to the both of us and left our sights. "Is this about me speaking of Aquafinia?" She asked in a gentle tone. Nodding, I could hear her giggle a little bit. "There is an old story, hidden within the ancient texts. About the first Moon Goddess. Her inner wolf was also named Aquafinia. She was young for her age, but she lost her life saving those she loved. As a pure wolf, the moon blessed her with a unique power. To protect his children and to rule over them. To find and bless one's pure heart, with the same power. But she has always been around, since that first time. Trying to search for one, more pure than she was. Though, I still don't understand what that power is. The ancient texts are hard to read, without the proper practices. Unfortunately, after I pass on, there will be no one to teach it. Even my son has a hard time understanding and translating it." She spoke with a sigh towards the end. She seemed extremely down about that last fact.

I was trying to remember in my head the ancient texts my father made me read. "Elder Rosebude, are you speaking about the young Charlotte Crescent of the Crescent Moon pack. The first original pack, whose line is not pure anymore? She is a past relative of my mother's. Mentioned highly among the rest of the pure Crescent's left. She died protecting her first born daughter." I spoke with a low voice, hiding the fact I knew what she was talking about. "Why yes. I know your family's line. But how did you know that?" She spoke gently, with a low voice as well. "My mother made me learn the ancient texts. Apart from you Elder Rosebude, she also knows them. I've only been studying since I was little. There's still more to learn, but I will make sure someone knows the texts. You have my word." I said as I looked her in the eyes. My eyes held a firm, but calm tone to them. The older woman looked me up and down, then our eyes met again. "We barely know each other, and I can already tell you will make a wonderful Alpha and Luna." She spoke softly, and stood up slowly from the chair she was sitting in. "Please excuse me child. This old woman needs to find the bathroom." She stated as she started to move towards the stairs. Seeming to look for the bathroom, I smiled softly. Watching her disappear around the corner, I stood up from the couch. Smoothing out my dress, I headed towards the front door. Looking over my shoulder as if to make sure I was alone, I slipped out the front door.
