Hoping to Heal and Getting Played

Bastian bent down immediately and checked her vital signs. She was breathing. It was likely that she merely had a concussion.

Instinctively, he took a rag and wiped the ink symbol off from her skin. That was when Anasta stirred and muttered a curse.

Bastian helped her get up.

"What did he do to you?" he asked through his teeth.

"Just managed to punch me out before I could cast a spell," Anasta said, sounding just as furious as he was right now. "Nothing more. But I assume that he intended to do more."

Even for Roy, this was a new low point. To attack a woman like that and try to impose a crime like that on her… Bastian had every imaginable reason to hate that man now.

"Are you feeling alright?" he asked.

"No. I need to sit down. Bring me the pink potion from that shelf," Anasta said and pointed towards a bottle on the opposite wall.

"Tell me everything that has happened here," Bastian said.
