My Other Self is a Strong Warrior

Chapter 31 – Aero Attack Art

Bokuto's POV

Today is Saturday, so I don't have school. Instead, I will do my usual ninja training, usually with my skillful and old paternal grandfather Yamato. He was a bit strict and stern, but at the same time, caring and kind. When I was starting my ninja training, he was pushing me a bit too hard, but in the end, it was worth it because I was able to be a strong and stealthy ninja I would use my stealth skills in combat and barely in non-combat or normal situations.

As we were training, my grandfather taught me a new ninja art technique: Aero Attack Art.

"This one is a hard technique," he told me, "you need to be very fit and flexible in order to do it."

I nodded. "Yes, grandpa. I've been always fit ever since I was a child."

"Good, let's do it, shall we?"

Our training had begun.

He showed me the steps of forming and consisting of that technique.

Despite looking like an old and frail man, my grandfather was still flexible, thanks to his years of strict diet and physical training.

So, he showed him how to do this powerful, yet flexible technique at the clan's training field with his trusty long sword.

That one is an attack-type of technique, too.

I observed his movements very closely, taking each detail in order to do it more effectively.

Then, after that demonstration, he said to me, "Now, try it."

I nodded and stepped in, before unsheathing my katana.

I took a deep breath and used what I had observed from his demonstration to do the technique while swinging my blade.

But along the way, I messed up with some movements, making my attack a bit crappy.

I landed without any injury but was a bit disappointed by my movements. "Oh, man, Grandpa, I messed up."

Yamato, who had watched my first try, then placed his right hand on my left shoulder. "It's okay. What you did is just your first try. With enough practice and repetition, you will be a master of it in no time."

Just like as always whenever I felt disappointed or frustrated, I nodded in agreement. "Yes, Grandpa, I'll never let you down!"

And so, I did the same technique over and over for an hour, determining to perfect it over time.

My ninja clan compound is a sprawling estate walled by traditional stone walls and can be accessed via a double wooden front door in the front. Our houses are in traditional Japanese in terms of architecture, and most of them are passed from generation to generation. The head of the clan is my Yamato, while my father, Yuito, is the clan's administrator and a businessman of traditional Japanese lanterns and paper notebooks. My father works a lot but still finds some time for us in the evening. My mother is from an ordinary household outside of the clan. I also had a younger sister named Miri, a timid, but kind girl in middle school. We were expected to pass down our skills and legacy to another generation. It's a bit of pressure for us, but Miri and I will do our best to do it for the sake of the clan.
