Chapter 25: Here with me

Hailey’s POV

By the time we return home, Owen is already there, waiting at the gates of the mansion. His arms are stretched out to the side, his fists clenched, and his lips pale with fear.

As Sebastian and Patrick do the same, he approaches the vehicle in a hurry and opens the door to help me out as soon as Sabrina parks the car.

For a moment, Owen looks at me and says nothing but instead kneels beside me while I am still sitting inside the car.

Owen's eyes slowly roam over the wounds on my legs and look at the stains on my dress, ultimately noticing the blow to my ear, which has left my hair stained with blood.

"I felt this," he whispers, as he brushes the edge of his fingers across my face, down my neck, and following one of the paths of dried blood, referring to the blow I was given. "It was then that I knew everything was going wrong."
