What A Great Surprise!

While driving back, Wu Yanchen was just thinking as to how did Yan Rong know about this, how did she knew where Li Wei took Xu Zhuya and Wu Lang to. And forcefully, he was made to doubt whether Yan Rong was also involved in this.

He stopped the car suddenly due to which the car made a loud screeching sound and he jerked a little towards the front. The reason why he stopped the car was just because he couldn't properly hear the address which she had told otherwise he would have just headed to that direction right now.

He thought of calling a particular someone who was just suitable for the job but upon remembering that his phone wasn't working anymore, he groaned. He then again accelerated the car and drove back home.

It was still afternoon and the sun was yet to set. Thinking this as an opportunity, he hurriedly drove to his home. He parked the car near the entrance and came out of it.

He opened the door with the keys and got inside the house. But upon entering inside, he felt something different. He felt confused as to whether he had come to the right house or no.

"The house is mine only, but what's with these stuff? They don't belong here." Wu Yanchen referred to the furniture which was kept in the living room. There were a few tables and chairs along with a grey leathered sofa.

He looked around the house and found no one else other than him. He called out for Wu Muqing and he came out from back entrance of the house.

And behind him came two people.

Wu Yanchen was surprised to see them around. He quickly walked towards them "Mom, Dad. What a great surprise!" He hugged them. Soon, he began to well up. Not because of his parents but because of Xu Zhuya. Had she been here, she would have made it more cheerful.

Wu Yanchen's mom, Xiao Tan spoke while patting slightly on his back "We thought of surprising you... But boy! You really are surprised to see us... Were you not expecting us to come to see you again, huh?"

Wu Yanchen waved his hands and held his mom's hand tightly in his "No! That wasn't what I had meant. It was just that... many things have happened lately and... and...I...I.. just thought...(Huff)" He took a deep breath and changed his words.

"Leave all this! You guys must be tired, after all it was a long journey. Go and take some rest!" He didn't wanted them to know about all this. They had just come back from a long trip. He didn't wanted them to worry.

But before he could take them to their room, Wu Yanchen's dad, Wu Mo spoke while looking around "I don't find my precious daughter-in-law, Xu Zhuya anywhere... Where is she? Wu Muqing was telling that you went to bring her back from work, so where is she?"

Hearing his mommy's name being called, Wu Muqing ran towards Wu Yanchen and tugged his pant. Wu Yanchen looked down at Wu Muqing who was tugging him.

He was looking at his dad with his big blue eyes. His blue eyes were sparkling just like the deep blue water which sparkles when the sun shines brightly on it during sunny days.

Seeing his son's adorable face, Wu Yanchen squatted down in front of him and said "What's wrong young guy?" He knew what Wu Muqing was gonna ask for.

He wasn't ready for all this. He needed time to prepare his answer so that his answer wouldn't worry anyone. So he just asked him the question beforehand.

And just like the innocent boy he was, he asked innocently "Daddy, you had gone to bring mommy back, but where is she? Did she not come with you?"

Wu Yanchen looked towards his Mom and Dad and then back at Wu Muqing. He tousled his hair and said "Your Mommy got a little busy. So she won't be coming home for a few days. Since, she won't be around, I'll be taking charge of the house."

Hearing his dad's reply, Wu Muqing lowered his head. His cheerful face turned into a dull one and his big blue eyes didn't sparkle anymore. His eyes were getting blurry and he was in the midst of crying.

Since, Wu Yanchen was squatted down he was able to see Wu Muqing's reaction. He knew that he was upset. He knew that Wu Muqing was missing her, but it was not only Wu Muqing who was missing her, but he himself was missing her.

If and only if he had not made her go to her room then maybe tonight all of them would be celebrating their other child's return. If and only if he made her stay beside him and had not allowed her to go to work, then she would have been with him.

If and only if he hadn't been a fool making a mistake by missing the connecting point, both of them would have been together beside him once and for all.

He regretted all his doings. Knowing that he couldn't even keep Wu Muqing's smile by not properly answering his question. Knowing all of the whereabouts of Li Wei but still he hadn't made a move. He regretted all of it.

Despite of knowing that Wu Lang is with Li Wei, he didn't do anything. He just waited for the right time to come. But was there really a right time which was yet to come?

Because all the time which he had wasted made him wish that... maybe if he could have done something back then.... then maybe they both would have been with him... beside him.
