Solrock and Lunatone

It was a hot day today, and the gang was feeling thirsty and drinking out from their water canteens.

"We'll need to find some more water soon. My canteen is nearly empty and I still feel very thirsty." Brock stated.

The others were still so thirsty too. Brock looked through his map guide to see if there was any place around where they could get some more water.

"Ah, it says that there is a spring and a village not far from here," he said, "so we can get a nice drink and some rest for a while."

"Thank goodness, I've had enough of travelling with this blazing heat." Max commented.

When the gang reached the spring, they found out that the spring had no water. They went to the village to see if there was any water there, but the village stream had no water and neither did the village well.

"Now what are we going to do?" May complained, "there's no water anywhere and I'm still very thirsty."

Just then a young woman came up to the gang. Ashlyn recognized the girl as Mary.

"Excuse me," Mary said, "are you all travelers?"

"Yes, we are." Alain answered.

Brock appeared instantly in front of Mary and held both her hands.

"Why, it's a pleasure to meet you, miss. What's your name?" Brock flirted as he blushed.

"It's Mary." 'Mary' replied, slightly creeped out.

"My name's Brock." Brock smiled, "Brock and Mary. That sounds nice. Mary, Mary, we're not so contrary."

"'Contrary'?" Mary asked, confused.

Max grabbed Brock by the ear, "Meaning different, like Brock." He pulled Brock away.

"OW! My ear!" Brock yelped.

"We were hoping to get some water here, but we noticed that there's no water here." Ashlyn stated.

"I am sorry about that," Mary apologized, "the truth is we have been suffering from a terrible drought lately which caused our stream to somehow dry up. If it doesn't rain soon, everyone one in this village may have to leave."

The gang felt sorry for the village.

"Please excuse me, but do you have any drop of water left?" May asked.

"I still have some water at my place." Mary replied.

Mary took the gang into her house and introduced them to her grandmother. Mary's grandmother was wearing a lily pad shaped hat on her head. Mary explained that the people in the village worshipped the Pokémon, Lombre.

"In fact the water spring outside our village has a shrine that's dedicated to Lombre." Mary's grandma informed the gang.

"We saw that spring earlier, but it was dried up too." May commented.

"When did this drought start?" Ashlyn asked.

Mary explained that a few nights ago a meteorite fell out of the sky and landed somewhere near the shrine. Then Mary's grandma explained that two Pokémon, a Solrock and a Lunatone, were roaming about the forest.

"It makes me wonder if they might have something to do with the drought." Brock pondered.

"It's true that both Solrock and Lunatone are rock type Pokémon, as well as psychic type," Alain said, "But I doubt there's no way they would cause a water shortage like that."

"May I suggest we go talk to them?" Ashlyn asked, "Since they've been roaming around the forest, they might know what's causing the water shortage."

"That might be a good idea." Alain agreed.

"Maybe we'll find the mystery behind the water shortage." Brock added.

"Okay Elena, Alain, Brock, and I will go to find Solrock and Lunatone," Mary decided, "Grandma, you say here with the others."

"Okay, but be careful, Mary." Her grandma warned.

So Ashlyn, Alain, Brock and Mary went off into the forest to find the Solrock and Lunatone.

"Do you think that the Solrock and Lunatone will listen to what we have to say?" Mary asked.

"Well as I said, those two Pokémon are psychic types as well as rock types." Alain reminded them.

"So what they'll do is look into our minds to see if we're telling the truth." Brock added.

"Don't worry Mary, Brock, Alain and I have met up with lots of psychic type Pokémon before." Ashlyn assured her.

Just then two Pokémon turned up. One of them was orange, with yellow spikes and black eyes, and it was shaped like a sun; this was Solrock. The other was cream colored, with pink eyes, and it was shaped like a crescent moon; this was Lunatone.

Ashlyn took out her Rotom phone and scanned the two Pokémon:

[Solrock, the Meteorite Pokémon. Solrock has the ability to read its opponents' minds. It attacks by rotating quickly, while giving off intense heat.]

[Lunatone, the meteorite Pokémon. Because it turns active on nights of the full moon, it is said to have some link to the lunar phases.]

Ashlyn bravely walked over to Solrock and Lunatone and told them about the village suffering a drought and a very low water shortage, "Do you think you can help us know why there is a water shortage?"

Both the Solrock and Lunatone touched Ashlyn's forehead and they showed her a vision. The vision showed Ashlyn Team Rocket sucking out water from a stream with some sort of machine, then it ended. Ashlyn told Alain, Brock and Mary about the vision. Mary was horrified by this news.

"Did the vision show where Team Rocket are, Ashlyn?" Alain asked.

"Yes, they are in some sort of cave." Ashlyn answered.

"I know what cave that is. It's near where we are standing now." Mary said.

"Then you better take us there now Mary; there's no doubt that those three are going to do something with the water." Ashlyn stated.

Mary led Ashlyn, Alain and Brock to the cave in the forest.

Just then Brock heard a pumping noise. "We'll follow that noise because it might lead us to the missing water." he suggested.

Brock was right; he, Ashlyn, Alain and Mary came to a big water tank van and it was pumping up water.

"Why would they do something like this?" Mary asked.

Just then there was some laughing going on. The laughter was very familiar to Ashlyn, Alain, and Brock.

"Quick we better hide." Brock decided.

They quickly hid behind some big rocks. The laughter came from Team Rocket.

"It's them!" Ashlyn whispered to Mary, Alain, and Brock.

Jessie checked out the water tank, "It's nearly full." She said.

"We're going to be very rich with all of these water bottles." James beamed with delight.

"We'll be best of the business!" Meowth cheered.

"Wobba!" Wobbuffet agreed.

Ashlyn, Alain, Brock and Mary were not happy with what the five men were doing.

"Oh no you don't!" Ashlyn shouted.

"That water doesn't belong to you!" Brock added.

"The twerps!" Team Rocket yelped.

"Give us back my village's water!" Mary demanded.

"Not a chance, Missy!" Jessie denied.

"We've worked long and hard to drain all this water!" James added.

"We need all this water for our future business, and we need all of it in order to make sure it goes swimmingly." Meowth declared.

"Then I guess we have to fight! Go Lombre!" Brock released his Lombre.

"Lombre!" Lombre appeared.

"Go Sebastian, Tesla!" Ashlyn released Sebastian the Corphish and Tesla jumped beside him.

"Corphish!" Sebastian appeared.

"Raichu!" Tesla called out.

"Electrike!" Alain released his Electrike.

Jessie let out her Seviper, "Go Seviper, Sneasel!"

"Seviper!" Seviper appeared.

"Sneasel!" Sneasel appeared next to Seviper.

James let out his Cacnea, "Go Cacnea, Nuzleaf!"

"Nuz!" Nuzleaf appeared.

"Cac!" Cacnea appeared next to Nuzleaf and then turned around to jump onto James who was not happy about the Cactus Pokémon's closeness.

"I want you to do a Pin Missile! Nuzleaf use Razorleaf!" James shouted." James ordered.

"Seviper, Poison Tail! Sneasel, Fury Swipes!" Jessie ordered.

Seviper, Sneasel, Nuzleaf, and Cacnea launched their attacks towards Mary and the gang.

"Lombre, Water Gun!" Brock shouted.

"Sebastian, Bubble Beam! Tesla, Electro Ball!" Ashlyn ordered.

"Electrike, Thunder Shock!" Alain ordered.

The gang's attacks instantly defeated Team Rocket's Pokémon.

"Now it's time to send you off." Ashlyn declared.

Suddenly the Team Rocket trio were hit with a Hyper Beam attack which sent them flying into the air.

"So much for a great water bottle plan!" Jessie complained.

"And all our liquid assets!" James added.

"Yeah while speaking of that, looks like it's time for us to kiss ours goodbye!" Meowth commented.

"WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" The trio screamed before they disappeared into the sky.

DING!

Ashlyn, Alain, Brock and Mary turned round and there was Solrock and Lunatone.

"You came to help us?" Brock asked.

The two Pokémon nodded to say yes.

"Thanks you two." Ashlyn thanked the two Psychic types.

Suddenly, Sebastian began to glow blue. Mary and the others gasped.

"Sebastian's evolving!" Brock gasped.

Sebastian's form began growing bigger and then the glow faded away to reveal Sebastian's evolved form: Crawdaunt.

"Sebastian, you evolved!" Ashlyn cheered as she hugged Sebastian.

"Crawdaunt! (All thanks to you, Ashlyn!)" Sebastian smiled.

"Well I'm going to get my grandma and the other villagers to tell them what have happened." Mary decided.

Ashlyn, Alain, and Brock got to work of releasing the water from the tank back into the stream at once.

The villagers were all grateful to Ashlyn, Alain and Brock.

"I cannot thank you all enough for all of your help Ashlyn, Alain and Brock." Mary thanked the three.

Brock was instantly in front of Mary while blushing, "Oh Mary, I can't decide!"

Mary sweat-dropped, "What?"

"You know, maybe I could stay here and protect you and the Sacred Spring?" Brock pressed his fingers together and smiled, "What do ya' say?"

Max grabbed Brock's ear, "I say we hit the road." He dragged Brock away from Mary.

"OW!" Brock yelped in pain as he was dragged away.

"I'm glad we were able to help." Alain said.

"But you should really thank Solrock and Lunatone. If it wasn't for them, we would never have known about Team Rocket's plan." Ashlyn added.

"I agree with that." Mary agreed.

Solrock and Lunatone were still with them. Mary and the villagers thanked the two Pokémon with all their hearts.

Brock's Lumbre, who was still outside its Pokéball, began talking to Solrock and Lunatone.

"Looks like Lumbre has become friends with those two Pokémon, Brock." May smiled.

Brock agreed. Seeing his Lombre become close friends with Solrock and Lunatone made Brock decide to catch Solrock and Lunatone so that they would be friends always. So he asked the two Pokémon if he could catch them, and they agreed. In the end, everything was all right. Mary and her village got back their water and Brock had a Solrock and Lunatone of his very own.
