56 Indigo League: Final Rounds
After finishing off the Preliminary rounds, Ashlyn, Prof. Oak, her friends and family were having dinner at a restaurant.
"I have to say Ashlyn, you did great during the preliminary rounds." Misty complimented.
"You were awesome, Ashlyn." Volkner added.
"Especially when you went against Jeanette." Flint grinned.
"You liked that round because she had her Delphox and Flareon battle against Jeanette." Volkner pointed out.
Flint smiled sheepishly.
"Yeah, and its all thanks to my Pokémon. I wouldn't have gotten this far without them." Ashlyn stated.
"You and your Pokémon have come a very long way Ashlyn," Prof. Oak said, "Not only have you and your Pokémon become strong, but your bonds has too."
Delia smiled, "I am very proud of you my dear."
"Too bad that Gary didn't make it passed the preliminary rounds." Brock said.
"Yes," Prof Oak sighed, "But the thing is with Gary is that, he's a good trainer but he got over confident, and that's why he lost in the fourth preliminary battle. So Ashlyn my dear Pallet Town is now giving cheers to you only."
Ashlyn smiled; she felt more proud than ever. She was glad to have such a great family and friends with her.
After dinner, Ashlyn and the gang met up with a trainer named Ritchie who had a Pikachu, nicknamed Sparky. They became great friends as they happily chatted with him. But Ashlyn knew that she would be going against him tomorrow. Whether they win or not, Ritchie would still be her friend.

It was the next day, Ashlyn and Ritchie were at the reception desk so that they could find out who their opponent is for the next round. They did a random draw, by fishing for a random Magikarp with a number on it. If someone else draws the same number, then that person becomes your next opponent. Ritchie did the same...to everyone's surprise the next person Ashlyn would be going up against was...Ritchie.
Ritchie and Ashlyn give each other slightly surprised, yet determined looks.
"Well Ashlyn, as we're friends, let's promise to make this our best battle that we've ever had." Ritchie held his hand out.
"Deal," Ashlyn took his hand and shook it, "See you on the battlefield, Ritchie."

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are now down to the quarterfinals for this year's league! Let's introduce the two who will be facing against each other! In the green corner is Ashlyn Ketchum of Pallet Town!"
The crowd cheered loudly for her.
"And in the red corner is Ritchie of Frodomar City!"
The crowd cheered once more.
"Just because we're friends Ritchie, doesn't mean that I'm going to go easy on you!" Ashlyn declared.
"I wouldn't have it any other way." Ritchie grinned.
"Come on out, Happy!" Ritchie sent out his Butterfree, nicknamed Happy, to battle.
"Ignado, you're on!" Ashlyn sent out her Alolan Marowak to battle.
Ritchie looked surprised at seeing her Alolan Marowak. He didn't expect her to have one.
"Butterfree versus Marowak battle...begin!"
"Happy, use Sleep Powder!" Ritchie ordered.
Happy flapped his wings and blue powder came out and headed towards Ignado.
"Ignado, Flamethrower!" Ashlyn countered.
Ignado spun his bone around which summoned his flames which blew away the sleep powder.
"Will-O-Wisp!"
Ignado spun his bone, summoning balls of blue fire and shot them towards Happy who got hit by them. The move was really effective to the Bug type who got burned and fainted.
"Butterfree is unable to battle! Marowak wins!" The referee announced.
"Way to go, Ignado!" Ashlyn cheered and Ignado smiled at his trainer.
Ritchie returned Happy, "You did good, Happy," Then he released his next Pokémon, "Go Zippo!"
"Char!" Zippo the Charmander appeared on the field.
"Charmander versus Marowak battle...begin!"
"Zippo, use Flamethrower!" Ritchie ordered.
"Shadow Ball." Ashlyn countered.
Zippo fired a Flamethrower at Ignado who countered it with a Shadow Ball. Both attacks collided against each other.
"Now Swift."
Ignado summoned a ray of stars and they rained down at Zippo who was trying to dodge them. But a few managed to hit him.
"Quick use Rock Tomb!" Ritchie commanded.
Zippo stomped his foot on the ground, summoning rocks from the ground, destroying most of the stars, creating smoke around it.
"Use Ice Beam!"
Ignado summoned a ball of ice and shot of beam at Charmander, who soon was incased in ice.
"Zippo!" Ritchie cried out.
"Now Iron Head!" Ashlyn ordered.
A jagged shiny pattern appeared on Ignado's forehead, and he charged at the frozen Charmander with his head. Once Ingado rammed into Zippo, breaking him out of the ice. Then Zippo fainted from the effective ice attack and iron head.
"Charmander is unable to battle! Marowak wins!" The referee called.
"Great job, Ignado." Ashlyn complimented.
Ignado smiled as he rubbed the back of his head.
Ritchie returned Zippo, "You did your best, Zippo." Then he let out his next Pokémon, "Go, Sniper!"
"Spearow!" Sniper the Spearow appeared on the field.
"Take some rest, Ignado." Ashlyn returned her Alolan Marowak and sent out her next Pokémon, "Go Pidgeot!"
"Pidgeot!" Pidgeot appeared on the field.
"Spearow versus Pidgeot battle...begin!"
"Sniper, use Quick Attack!" Ritchie ordered.
"Spear!" Sniper flew straight towards Pidgeot.
"Pidgeot, dodge and use Air Slash!" Pidgeot dodged Sniper's attack and her wings glowed. She pushed her wings forward and crescent shaped blades headed towards Sniper and soon hit him which made him cry out in pain.
"Sniper!" Ritchie called out, "Are you okay?"
"Spearow!" Spearow nodded.
"Alright, then use Peck!" Sniper's beak glowed and headed straight towards Pidgeot.
"Protect and then Swift!" Pidgeot projected a green colored barrier in front of herself which Sniper bounced off. Then she summoned a bunch of stars that hit Sniper which he cried out in pain once more.
"Now Brave Bird!" Pidgeot flew up in the air and shot back towards Sniper, ramming him in the stomach and sending him falling to the ground, creating a dust cloud.
"Sniper!" Ritchie called out.
The dust cloud faded away to reveal a fainted Sniper with swirling eyes.
"Spearow is unable to battle. The victory goes to Pidgeot!"
"Good job, Pidgeot." Ashlyn complimented.
"Pidgeot!" Pidgeot smiled.
Ritchie returned Sniper, "You did your best, Sniper," Then he let out his next Pokémon, "Go Eve!"
"Eevui!" Eve the Eevee appeared on the field.
"Pidgeot return." She returned her bird Pokémon and let out her next Pokémon, "Eevee!"
"Evui!" Ashlyn's Eevee appeared on the field.
"Eevee versus Eevee battle...begin!"
"Eve, use Tackle!" Ritchie ordered.
Eve headed straight towards Eevee.
"Eevee, Double Team!" Eevee quickly made copies of herself. Eve hit one of the copies, "Now Tackle!"
Eevee slammed into Eve which sent Eve tumbling across the field.
"Eve, you okay?" Ritchie called out.
"Evui!" Eve nodded.
"Okay then, use Swift!" Ritchie ordered.
"Eevee, use Swift as well!" Ashlyn countered.
Both Eevee summoned stars from their tails and swung them forward. Both attacks clashed, causing smoke on the field. Ashlyn decided to take advantage of the smoke.
"Eevee, use Take Down and Double-Edge!" Eevee ran into the smoke and rammed into Eve.
"Eevuuii!" Eve cried out in pain as she was sent tumbling. Once she stopped, she weakly tried to stand up.
"Shadow Ball!" Eevee shot her attack towards Eve. The attack hit the Normal type Pokémon, causing smoke.
When the smoke disappeared, it showed Eve with swirling eyes which meant that she fainted.
"Eevee is unable to battle! The victory goes to Eevee!"
"Alright Eevee!" Ashlyn cheered.
"Eevui!" Eevee smiled as she jumped into Ashlyn's arms. She petted the Normal type's head.
"Eve, return." Ritchie returned Eve to her Pokéball, "You did your best, Eve." Then he took out his next Pokémon, "Go Machop!"
"Machop!" Machop appeared on the field.
Ashlyn returned Eevee, "You did good, Eevee. Get some rest." Then she let out her next Pokemon, "Go Alakazam!"
"Kazam!" Alakazam appeared on the field.
"Machop versus Alakazam battle...begin!"
"Machop, use Bulk Up and then Bullet Punch!" Ritchie commanded.
"Alakazam, use Protect!" Ashlyn countered.
Alakazam projected a green barrier in front of himself. Machop's Bullet Punch bounced off the barrier, "Disable and Confusion!"
Alakazam's eyes glowed blue and Machop was outlined in blue. Once the glow was gone, Machop looked all around itself in confusion.
"Now Psybeam!"
Alakazam places his two spoons together and a rainbow-colored energy shot out and hit Machop who cried out in pain.
"Machop!" Ritchie called out, "Are you okay?!"
"M-Machop." Machop got to his feet with determination.
"Alright then, Machop, use Mega Punch!" Ritchie ordered.
Machop's right fist was encased in orange colored energy as he ran towards Alakazam.
"Alakazam, Thunder Punch to block it!" Electricity gathered onto Alakazam's left fist.
Both fists slammed into each other, and both skidded back from the power of them.
"Machop, use Focus Energy!" Ritchie ordered.
"Alazakam, Light Screen and then Future Sight." Ashlyn countered.
Alakazam projected a light green colored screen in front of himself. Then his eyes glowed blue for a few seconds.
"Use Rock Tomb!" Ritchie commanded.
Machop stomped on the ground, causing boulders to appear out of the ground and surrounded Alakazam.
"Quick, Teleport and use Drain Punch!" Ashlyn countered.
Alakazam teleported out of the rock tomb attack and appeared right in front of Machop and punched Machop under the chin, sending him up in the air. Then the Future Sight hit Machop.
"Machop!" Ritchie cried out.
Machop fell to the ground, causing a dust cloud. When the dust cleared, it showed Machop with swirling eyes which meant that he fainted.
"Machop is unable to battle. The victory goes to Alakazam!"
"Way to go, Alakazam!" Ashlyn smiled.
"Kazam." Alakazam smiled.
Ritchie returned Machop, "Well done, Machop. Get some rest." Then he turned to his Pikachu, "Sparky, you're up."
Sparky nodded, "Pikapi!"
"Take some rest, Alakazam." Ashlyn returned her Psychic type and sent out her next Pokémon, "Let's go, Levina!"
Both Pikachu's appeared on the field.
"Pikachu versus Pikachu battle...begin!"
"Levina, use Attract." Ashlyn ordered.
Levina winked at Sparky, causing multiple pink hearts to fly and surround him. The hearts then sank into him, causing him to fall in love with Levina. Sparky's eyes were now heart shaped.
"Oh no! Sparky snap out it!" Ritchie cried out.
But Sparky was too infatuated with Levina. So he didn't hear his trainer's words.
"Levina, use Quick Attack and then Iron Tail!" Ashlyn ordered.
Levina's glowed a metallic color and then she sped towards the love-struck Sparky and slammed her tail against Sparky which sent him flying across the field.
"Electro Ball!"
Levina's body was surrounded in yellow electricity and multiple yellow sparks came off Levina's body. All the electricity then condensed at Levina's tail and formed into an orange-yellow orb of electricity with sparks of yellow electricity coming off it. Levina then jumped into the air and flung the orb at Sparky.
"Sparky, dodge!" Ritchie called out.
However, Sparky was still affected by Attract. The orb of electricity hit Sparky, which somehow broke him out of Attract. However, he was still weak from Levina's earlier attacks. He weakly stood up in front of Levina.
"Sparky, use Thunderbolt!" Ritchie ordered.
Sparky let out his most powerful thunderbolt.
"Lightning Rod!" Ashlyn countered.
Levina held her tail up and all of Sparky's electricity gathered in her tail and soon disappeared.
"Now use Thunder Punch!"
Levina's fist was surrounded by yellow sparks, which grow into a ball of electrical energy. The electric type then punched Sparky who soon fainted.
"Pikachu is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The referee called out, "The victory goes to Ashlyn Ketchum of Pallet Town!"
The crowd cheered loudly.
Levina ran all the way to Ashlyn and jumped into her arms, "Well done, Levina."
"Pikapi." Levina smiled.
"And there you go ladies and gentlemen! Ashlyn Ketchum will be moving onto the next round!"
The crowd cheered even louder.

After their battle, both trainers went to the Pokémon Center to heal their Pokémon.
"Hey, congrats on winning, Ashlyn." Ritchie congratulated Ashlyn.
Ashlyn smiled, "Thanks, Ritchie."
"You both did great," Prof. Oak said, "You should be proud, Ritchie."
Ritchie rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, "Thanks, Prof. Oak. It's an honor to hear that from a famous professor." Then he looked to Ashlyn, "I wish you the best of luck with the other matches, Ashlyn." He spoke.
Ashlyn smiled and nodded.

Ashlyn's second match of the day was now here. She would be going against a trainer named Charlotte Addison. The girl had dirty blonde hair and green eyes. She wore a red tank top and a pair of blue shorts and sneakers. Ashlyn had to admit that she was somewhat nervous, but she knew that she could beat Charlotte.
"Here we are in the second round for the quarter finals for today. Let's introduce the two who will be facing against each other! In the red corner is Charlotte Addison from Fuchsia City."
The crowd cheered for Charlotte.
"And in the green corner is Ashlyn Ketchum from Pallet Town who hasn't lost a single match!"
The crowd cheered even louder for Ashlyn.
"Let the battle begin!"
"Mankey, I choose you!" Charlotte released her first Pokémon.
"Mankey!" Mankey appeared on the field.
"Clefable, let's go!" Ashlyn let out her first Pokémon.
"Clefable!" Clefable appeared on the field
"Mankey versus Clefable battle...begin!"
"Mankey, use Fury Swipes!" Charlotte ordered.
Mankey's hands glowed a white color and he ran towards Clefable.
"Clefable, Light Screen!" Ashlyn countered.
Clefable projected a green colored screen in front of her and Mankey's attack bounced off of it.
"Now Zen Headbutt!"
Clefable's forehead glowed white, and she rammed into Mankey who cried out in pain from the attack and was sent tumbling.
"Mankey!" Charlotte cried out, "Are you okay?!"
"Mankey." Mankey managed to stand up.
"Alright then, use Iron Tail!" Mankey's tail glowed a metallic color and he ran towards Clefable.
"Clefable, Fire Punch!" Ashlyn countered.
Clefable's right fist was encased in flames and the two attacks slammed into each other. The two skidded away from each other.
"Mankey, Karate Chop!" Mankey ran towards Clefable again.
"Clefable, Thunderbolt!"
Mankey was instantly zapped by the electrical attack which caused him to slightly wobble.
"Now Moonblast!" Clefable raised her hands in the air and a light pink orb was forming between them, growing larger and larger, she tossed the sparkling orb towards the Pig Pokémon.
Mankey cried out in pain at the attack as the attack caused a dirt cloud. When it died down, it showed Mankey with swirling eyes, which meant that he fainted.
"Mankey is unable to battle. The victory goes to Clefable!"
"Well done, Clefable." Ashlyn complimented the Fairy Pokémon.
"Clefable." Clefable smiled.
Charlotte returned Mankey, "You tried, Mankey." Then she called out her second Pokemon. "Poliwhirl, I choose you!"
"Poliwhirl." Poliwhirl appeared on the field.
Ashlyn returned Clefable back into her Pokéball and she let out her second Pokémon, "Come on out, Leafeon!"
"Leafeon." Leafeon appeared on the field.
"Poliwhirl versus Leafeon battle...begin!"
"Poliwhirl, Water Gun!" Charlotte ordered.
Poliwhirl shot out a beam of water at Leafeon.
"Leafeon, use Protect." Ashlyn countered.
Leafeon projected a green colored barrier in front of herself. Poliwhirl's water attack bounced off of the barrier.
"Now Energy Ball!" Leafeon formed a green colored ball in front of her mouth and released it which hit Poliwhirl and made him cry out in pain.
"Poliwhirl! Are you okay?!" Charlotte exclaimed.
"Poliwhirl." Poliwhirl winced as he stood up.
"Okay then, use Mega Punch!" Charlotte commanded.
"Dodge and then use Double-Kick." Ashlyn countered.
Leafeon dodged Poliwhirl's attack and then double kicked Poliwhirl in the face.
"Now Magical Leaf!" Leafeon pulls her head back, then brings it forward. Her ears then lifted up and they released glowing light green leaves from her ears.
The attack slammed into Poliwhirl, who skidded back by the attack.
"Sunny Day!" Leafeon launched a white colored orb into the sky which made the sky sunnier, "Now Solar Beam!"
Leafeon gathered an orb of light in front of her mouth and then blasted a beam towards Poliwhirl.
"Quick Poliwhirl, Hydro Pump!" Charlotte called out.
Poliwhirl's stomach glowed light purple and it released a powerful stream of water from in the middle of it.
The two attacks slammed into each other. One trying to overpower the other. But Leafeon's Solar Beam pushed past Poliwhirl's Hydro Pump and rammed into Poliwhirl, crying out in pain. He weakly stood up and then collapsed.
"Poliwhirl is unable to battle. The victory goes to Leafeon!"
"Alright Leafeon!" Ashlyn cheered.
"Leafeon." Leafeon smiled.
Charlotte returned Poliwhirl, "You did your best, Poliwhirl." Then she let out her next Pokémon, "Tangela, I choose you!"
"Tangela!" Tangela appeared on the field.
Ashlyn returned Leafeon to her Pokéball and then let out her next Pokémon, "Come on out, Nidoqueen!"
"Nido." Nidoqueen appeared on the field.
"Tangela versus Nidoqueen battle...begin!"
"Nidoqueen, Flamethrower!" Ashlyn ordered.
Flames burst from Nidoqueen's mouth and instantly hit Tangela. The Vine Pokémon cried out in pain. When the flames died down, Tangela was slightly wobbly.
"Tangela, use Vine Whip!" Charlotte commanded.
Tangela summoned his vines and wrapped them around Nidoqueen.
"Now Razor Leaf!"
Tangela summoned a bunch of leaves that flew straight towards Nidoqueen.
"Nidoqueen, Thunderbolt!" Ashlyn countered.
Nidoqueen let out an electrical attack that zapped Tangela. The Vine Pokémon cried out in pain as its vines let go of Nidoqueen and then passed out.
"Tangela is unable to battle. The victory goes to Nidoqueen!"
"Great job, Nidoqueen!" Ashlyn called out.
"Nido." Nidoqueen smiled.
Charlotte returned Tangela and then let out her next Pokémon, "Go Nidoking!"
Ashlyn returned Nidoqueen to her Pokeball and let out her next Pokémon, "Let's go, Dragonite!"
"Roar!" Dragonite appeared on the field.
"Nidoking versus Dragonite battle...begin!"
"Dragonite, use Icy Wind!" Dragonite blew out a cold wind from her mouth.
Nidoking shivered in the cold.
"Now Ice Beam!" Dragonite formed a white colored ball in front of her mouth and a beam shot out and froze Nidoking.
"Nidoking!" Charlotte called out in panic.
"Steel Wing and then Aqua Tail!" Ashlyn ordered.
Dragonite's wings glowed a metallic color and then she flew towards Nidoking, slamming into him and breaking him out of the ice. Then she stuck her tail out and a spiral of water spun around it. She slammed her tail into Nidoking's stomach which caused him to grunt and slid backwards.
"Are you okay Nidoking?!" Charlotte called out.
"Nido!" Nidoking grunted.
"Alright then. Nidoking, use Poison Sting!" Charlotte ordered.
Nidoking launched his attack and it headed straight to Dragonite.
"Dodge, Dragonite!" Ashlyn countered.
Dragonite jumped and flew into the air.
"Now Hydro Pump!" Dragonite released a powerful stream of water from her mouth, and it slammed into Nidoking's belly who grunted at the attack.
"Poison Jab, Nidoking!" Nidoking's right first glowed purple and ran towards Dragonite.
"Light Screen and then Ice Punch!" Dragonite projected a light green colored screen in front of her which blocked Nidoking's Poison Jab attack. Then Dragonite's right first was coated with ice, and she punched Nidoking in the gut and the Poison Ground type was soon encased in ice.
"Nidoking!" Charlotte called out in panic.
"Now Iron Tail!" Ashlyn shouted.
Dragonite's tail glowed a metallic color and she slammed it into Nidoking, shattering the ice, and sent him tumbling, causing a dust cloud. When the cloud disappeared, it showed Nidoking with swirls in his eyes which meant that he fainted.
"Nidoking is unable to battle! The victory goes to Dragonite!"
"Way to go, Dragonite!" Ashlyn cheered.
Dragonite blushed as she rubbed the back of her head.
Charlotte returned Nidoking, "You did your best, Nidoking." Then she let out her next Pokemon, "Go Venusaur!"
"Saur!" Venusaur appeared on the field.
Ashlyn returned Dragonite and let out her next Pokémon, "Let's go, Arcanine!"
Arcanine howled when she appeared on the field.
"Venusaur versus Arcanine battle...begin!"
"Arcanine, Flamethrower!" Arcanine blew a stream of flames from her mouth and Venusaur was hit by the flames which made him cry out in pain.
"Venusaur!" Charlotte called out.
The flames soon disappeared and Venusaur stood still with a lot of burns on him. He flinched at his injuries.
"Venusaur, use Sunny Day!" Charlotte ordered.
Venusaur launched his attack into the sky and the sun was even brighter than before.
"Now use Solar Beam!"
"Arcanine, dodge and use Extreme Speed and Fire Fang!" Ashlyn countered.
Arcanine dodged the attack and headed straight towards Venusaur as flames appeared on Arcanine's fangs. Then Arcanine bit down on Venusaur's arm and Venusaur cried out in pain as it was encased in flames.
"Venusaur!" Charlotte cried out.
Arcanine let go of Venusaur and jumped away. When the flames went out, Venusaur was burned brown and collapsed on his stomach with swirling eyes.
"Venusaur is unable to battle! The victory goes to Arcanine!"
"Yay Arcanine!" Ashlyn shouted as Arcanine howled in victory.
Charlotte returned her Venusaur, "You tried, Venusaur. Get some rest." Then she let out her next Pokémon, "Marowak!"
"Marowak!" Marowak appeared on the field.
Ashlyn returned Arcanine and let out her next Pokémon, "Go Blastoise!"
"Blastoise! (Let's do this!)" Blastoise appeared on the field.
"Marowak versus Blastoise battle...begin!"
"Marowak, use Bonemerang!" Charlotte ordered.
Marowak threw his bone towards Blastoise.
"Blastoise, Withdraw!" Ashlyn countered.
Blastoise withdrew into his head, arms, and legs into his shell which caused Marowak's Bone to bounce off the shell.
"Now Flash Cannon!" Blastoise's cannons fired a metallic colored energy at Marowak.
"Dodge it Marowak!" Marowak quickly dodged the attack.
"Rain Dance!" Blastoise came out of his shell and summoned rain clouds. Rain began to pour down onto the field. Marowak winced as the rain dripped onto its skin.
"Whirlpool!" Blastoise summoned a whirlpool of water above his head and tossed it towards Marowak.
"Marowak dodge it!" Charlotte called out.
However, Marowak couldn't dodge in time because of the pain that was caused by the rain. It was soon sucked into the whirlpool and was going in circles inside the whirlpool.
"Ice Beam!" Blastoise summoned an orb of white energy in front of his mouth and shot it towards the whirlpool that Marowak was stuck in. Soon enough, Marowak was encased in the ice whirlpool.
"Hydro Pump!" Two powerful shots of water blasted out of Blastoise's cannons and hit the frozen Whirlpool And the ice broke apart, Marowak into air, tumbling across the field, Causing a dust cloud. When the dust cleared. It showed Marowak with swirling eyes, it was unconscious.
"Marowak is unable to battle! Blastoise wins!" The referee announced, "The victory goes to Ashlyn Ketchum of Pallet Town!"
"Alright Blastoise!" Ashlyn cheered.
"Blastoise!" Blastoise smiled.
Ashlyn smiled back.
"And there you go ladies and gentlemen! Another great victory for Ashlyn Ketchum! She'll be going onto the next round!"
The crowd cheered loudly for Ashlyn.
And so that ended the first day of the Indigo League Finals. Ashlyn's next battle will happen tomorrow.

Today is the day for Ashlyn's third match at the Indigo League finals. The trainer she was going to battle against was a trainer named Johnny Carson. He had somewhat spiky dark brown hair and brown eyes. He wore a green hoodie, blue jeans, and black sneakers. It was going to be a 6 on 6 battle. Ashlyn was ready to fight this guy.
"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to our first match of the day of the finals!" The announcer announced, "Let's introduce our two trainers who will be battling against each other. In the red corner is Johnny Carson from New Bark Town!"
The crowd cheered for Johnny.
"And in the green corner we have Ashlyn Ketchum of Pallet Town!"
The crowd cheered loudly for Ashlyn.
"Let the battle begin!"
"Go Golem!" Johnny let out his first Pokémon.
"Golem!" Golem appeared on the field.
"Venusaur, let's go!" Ashlyn let out her Kanto Grass Starter.
"Saur!" Venusaur appeared on the field.
"Golem versus Venusaur battle...begin!"
"Golem, use Tackle!" Golem rolled up into a ball and rolled towards Venusaur.
"Venusaur, Protect!" Ashlyn countered.
Venusaur projected a green colored barrier in front of himself. Golem hit the barrier and bounced off.
"Now Leech Seed!" Venusaur launched a seed from his back, and it landed on Golem. It opened, spreading its vines and wrapped around Golem causing it to groan in pain and knelt down on one knee.
"Golem!" Johnny called out.
"Petal Blizzard! Then Sunny Day!" Ashlyn shouted.
A bunch of petals came from Venusaur's plant and blew towards Golem who groaned at the impact. Then Venusaur launched a white colored orb from his mouth and into the sky.
"Quick Golem, use Rock Throw!" Johnny ordered.
Golem summoned as much as it could and threw them towards Venusaur.
"Hyper Beam!" Venusaur launched his attack and it destroyed Golem's rocks and slammed into Golem which caused a dust cloud.
When the dust cleared, it showed Golem with swirling eyes which meant that it fainted.
"Golem is unable to battle! The victory goes to Venusaur!"
"Wow what a battle! Venusaur defeated Golem!"
"Saur!" Venusaur roared.
"Great job, Venusaur!" Ashlyn called out.
Venusaur simply smiled back at her.
Johnny returned Golem to its Pokéball and let out his next Pokémon, "Go Quilava!"
"Lava!" Quilava appeared on the field.
Ashlyn returned Venusaur and let out her next Pokémon, "Come on out, Dewgong!"
"Dewgong!" Dewgong appeared on the field.
"Quilava versus Dewgong battle...begin!"
"Quilava, Flamethrower!" Flames burst from Quilava's mouth and headed towards Dewgong.
"Hydro Pump!" Water burst from Dewgong's mouth and rammed against Quilava's flamethrower.
The two attacks caused steam to go everywhere. Ashlyn decides to use this to her advantage.
"Aqua Jet!" Dewgong's body was surrounded in water and went straight towards Quilava who was having a hard time trying to find Dewgong. Then Dewgong tackled Quilava, sending it tumbling across the field. Then it weakly stood up.
"Quilava, are you okay?" Johnny called out.
"Q-Quilava (I'm-I'm fine)." Quilava breathed heavily.
"Okay then, use Over Heat!" Johnny ordered.
"Blizzard!" Ashlyn countered.
The attacks hit, causing a small amount of rain to fall down on the field which weakened Quilava.
"Over Heat completely melted the blizzard that changed into rain! What a change of events!"
"Dewgong, Ice Beam!" Dewgong formed a white orb in front of her mouth.
Before Quilava could move, it took a full hit of the ice and was encased in ice.
"Quilava!" Johnny called out.
"Now Iron Tail!" Ashlyn commanded.
Dewgong's tail turned a metallic color and she slammed it against the ice covered Quilava, breaking it out of the ice and sent it tumbling across the field, creating a dust cloud. When the cloud disappeared, it showed Quilava with swirling eyes.
"Quilava is unable to battle! The victory goes to Dewgong!"
"Another win for Ashlyn Ketchum! Who knew that the unexpected rain would easily help Dewgong defeat Quilava!"
"Alright Dewgong!" Ashlyn called out.
Dewgong smiled, "Dewgong."
Johnny returned Quilava and let out his next Pokémon, "Go Machoke!"
"Machoke!" Machoke appeared on the field.
Ashlyn returned Dewgong and let out her next Pokémon, "Wigglytuff, I choose you!"
"Wigglytuff!" Wigglytuff appeared on the field.
"Machoke versus Wigglytuff battle...begin!"
"Machoke, Bulk Up and Cross Chop!" Johnny ordered.
Red energy surrounded Machoke and he ran towards Wigglytuff.
"Dodge and Low Sweep!" Ashlyn countered.
Wigglytuff dodged Machoke's attack and swept Machoke off his feet which made him fall on his back.
"Now Play Rough!" Wigglytuff grabbed Machoke's leg and started rough housing with him.
Ashlyn slightly winced when Wigglytuff kept slamming Machoke onto the ground. Then Wigglytuff grabbed Machoke one more time and threw him across the field, tumbling until he stopped.
"Machoke, you okay?" Johnny asked.
"M-Machoke." Machoke grunted as he stood up.
"Alright, use Bullet Punch!" Johnny ordered.
Machoke's fists lite up and he headed straight towards Wigglytuff.
"Protect!" Ashlyn countered.
Wigglytuff projected a green colored barrier in front of herself, blocking Machoke's attack.
"Scary Face!" Wigglytuff made a scary face which Machoke flinched at and made him stop his attack, "Thunder Punch!"
Electricity gathered in Wigglytuff's right hand, and she punched her fist into Machoke's stomach which sent him tumbling to the middle of the field, creating a dust cloud. When the dust cleared, it showed Machoke with swirls in his eyes.
"Machoke is unable to battle! The victory goes to Wigglytuff!"
"That is one tough Wigglytuff! She shows that you should never underestimate a cute Pokémon. Now Johnny is down to three Pokémon left!"
"You got him good, Wigglytuff!" Ashlyn called out.
Wigglytuff smiled.
Johnny returned Machoke and let out his fourth Pokémon, "Tauros!"
Tauros appeared on the field.
Ashlyn returned Wigglytuff and let out her next Pokémon, "Mienshao!"
"Mienshao." Mienshao appeared on the field.
"Tauros versus. Mienshao battle...begin!"
"Tauros, use Horn Attack!" Johnny ordered.
Tauros's horns glowed and stomped straight towards Mienshao.
"Mienshao, jump to avoid it." Ashlyn commanded.
Mienshao jumped in the air to avoid get hit by the attack and Tauros ran across the field. Mienshao meanwhile landed back safely on the ground.
"Take Down!" Tauros charged at Mienshao at high speed.
"Dodge and Drain Punch!" Mienshao's left fist glowed and then she jumped over Tauros and punched Tauros on the back of its head, skidding across the field, before falling to the ground. Tauros was down, but not out. Then Tauros slowly got up. Ashlyn used that as her chance.
"Aura Sphere!" Mienshao created a blue like sphere between her hands and threw the Aura Sphere towards Tauros. The attack caused a dust cloud and when it disappeared, it showed that Tauros had fainted.
"Tauros is unable to battle! The victory goes to Mienshao!"
"Great job Mienshao!" Ashlyn called out.
Mienshao smiled, "Mienshao."
"Mienshao swiftly defeated Tauros! Quite a graceful and strong Fighting-type Pokémon! Johnny is now down to two Pokémon left. Ashlyn still hasn't had any knockouts. Can Johnny make a comeback?"
"He'll try." Johnny said as he returned Tauros and let out his next Pokémon, "Go Parasect!"
"Para!" Parasect appeared on the field.
Ashlyn returned Mienshao and let out her fifth Pokémon, "Let's go, Elsa!"
"Ninetales!" Elsa appeared on the field.
"Wow! Would you look at that. Ashlyn Ketchum has a Alolan Ninetales on her team. This kind of Pokémon can only be found in the Alola region."
"Parasect versus Ninetales battle...begin!"
"Parasect, use Stun Spore!" An orange like powder poured out from Parasect.
"Elsa, Icy Wind!" A cold wind came out of Elsa's mouth, and it froze some of the stun spore and blew it towards Parasect who flinched at the coldness and some of the stun spore, getting affected by the previous attack.
"Avalanche!" Elsa's body glowed light blue, and a dark cloud appears above Parasect. Then chunks of white or clear ice then rain down from the cloud.
"Parasect, dodge!" Parasect try to dodge all of the ice chunks. But then it got hit by a few of them, causing a small flurry of snow. The snow flurry disappeared, showing Parasect who was majorly affected by the ice attacks. Parasect weakly tried to get back on its feet.
"Ice Beam!" Elsa fired a beam of ice at Parasect who then was encased in ice.
"Parasect!" Johnny cried out.
"Finish it up with Iron Tail!" Elsa's tails glowed a metallic color and she ran towards the frozen Parasect. Then she slammed her tail into it, causing the ice to break and released Parasect who sent tumbling across the field. When it stopped tumbling, it showed Parasect with swirling eyes, it fainted.
"Parasect is unable to battle! The victory goes to Ninetales!"
"Parasect is out for the count. Parasect just couldn't handle the cold by Ninetales!"
"Great job, Elsa!" Ashlyn cheered.
Elsa smiled back, "Tales."
"Both trainers are down to their last Pokémon. Which Pokémon will they choose?"
Johnny returned Parasect and let out his last Pokémon, "Go Victreebel!"
"Victreebel!" Victreebel appeared on the field.
Ashlyn returned Elsa and let out her last Pokémon, "Come on out, Nidoking!"
"Nido!" Nidoking appeared on the field.
"Victreebel versus Ninoking battle...begin!"
"Nidoking, Flamethrower!" Ember ordered.
Flames came out of Nidoking's mouth and blasted towards Victreebel who didn't dodge it in time.
"Victreebel!" Johnny cried out.
When the flames died down, Victreebel was still standing up with slight burns on it.
"Victreebel, are you okay? Can you still fight?" Johnny called out.
"Vic-Victreebel." Victreebel panted.
"Good. Now wrapped Nidoking up with Vine Whip!" Johnny commanded.
Victreebel summoned its Vine Whip and wrapped its vines around him.
"Thunder!" Ashlyn shouted.
Bolts of electricity gathered around Nidoking and followed along Victreebel's vines, zapping the Grass/Poison type. Victreebel's vines slipped off of Nidoking and Victreebel fell on its back with swirling eyes. It fainted.
"Victreebel is unable to battle! The victory goes to Nidoking!"
"Yeah Nidoking!" Ashlyn cheered.
Nidoking turned to her and smiled, "Nido."
"And there you go ladies and gentlemen! Ashlyn Ketchum has won the semi-finals and now she'll move onto the Final round! Tomorrow we'll have the final Indigo League Pokémon Battle!"

The next day, Ashlyn was going to have her final battle against a trainer named Assunta Sayuri. Even though in her male counter part's time, Ritchie lost to her, she wasn't going to let Assunta defeat her.
"We've finally come down to the final two! These trainers have been very impressive since they first walked onto the field! Let's introduce them, shall we? In the Green corner we have Ashlyn Ketchum of Pallet Town!"
The crowd cheered loudly.
"And in the red corner is Assunta Sayuri of Celadon City!"

Assunta let out her first Pokémon, "Go Rhydon!"
"Rhydon!" Rhydon appeared on the field.
Ashlyn sent out her first Pokémon, "Go Lucario!"
"(Victory is at hand)." Lucario appeared on the field.
"Lucario versus Rhydon battle...begin!" The referee announced.
"Rhydon, use Horn Attack!" Assunta ordered.
Rhydon's horn glowed, and it headed towards Lucario.
"Lucario, dodge and use Rain Dance!" Ashlyn countered.
Lucario dodged Rhydon's attack and summoned rain clouds over the field and rain began coming down.
"Rhydon, use Stomp!" Assunta ordered.
Rhydon raised his foot and stomped it onto the ground.
"Lucario, jump and use Flash Cannon and then Double Ice Punch!" Ember commanded.
Lucario jumped and summoned a light from his hands which beamed at Rhydon who got blinded by the light. For Lucario, ice began to gather around his fists. Then he ran forward and punched both fists into Rhydon who was soon encased in ice.
"Rhydon!" Assunta cried out.
"Now Aura Sphere!" Ashlyn ordered.
Lucario launched his attack towards the ice encased Rhydon. When it hit, Rhydon was free from the ice, however, it soon fainted. Rain Dance, Flash Cannon, Two Ice Punches, and an Aura Sphere gave a heavy effect on it.
"Rhydon is unable to battle! Lucario wins!"
"That was awesome, Lucario!" Ashlyn cheered.
"(Thank you, Ashlyn.)" Lucario smiled.
"Ashlyn wins the first battle! Now who will win the next?"
Assunta returned Rhydon, "You did well, Rhydon." Then she sent out her second Pokémon, "Tentacool!"
"Tentacool." Tentacool appeared on the field.
Ashlyn returned Lucario, "Get some rest, Lucario," She let out her second Pokémon, "Boltund!"
Boltund barked when he appeared on the field.
"Boltund versus Tentacool battle...begin!"
"Boltund, Electric Terrain." Ashlyn ordered.
Boltund released multiple bolts of yellow electricity which turned the surrounding area to glow yellow. This will power up Boltund's Electric-type moves.
"Tentacool, use Hydro Pump!" Assunta ordered.
Tentacool shot its water attack towards Boltund.
"Boltund, dodge!" Ashlyn countered.
Boltund dodged the water attack.
"Now Electro Ball!"
Boltund created an orange-yellow orb of electricity on his tail. It then flung the orb at Tentacool and electrocuted it.
"Tentacool!" Assunta cried out.
"Boltund, Thunderbolt!" Ashlyn commanded.
Boltund released a powerful thunderbolt on Tentacool, electrocuting the water Pokémon. Then Tentacool fainted since Electric Terrain powered up all of Boltund's electric attacks, they were very strong and effective.
"Tentacool is unable to battle! Boltund wins!"
"Way to go, Boltund!" Ashlyn cheered.
Boltund turned and smiled before he barked.
"Quite an interesting battle there folks. Boltund easily overcame Tentacool's water attacks. This is Ashlyn's second win now. Can Assunta win the next one?"
Assunta let out her third Pokémon, "Venomoth!"
Ashlyn returned Boltund, "Rest for now, Boltund," She let out her third Pokémon, "Comet!"
Comet the shiny Rapidash appeared on the field.
"Rapidash versus Venomoth battle...begin!"
"Venomoth, use Poison Powder!" Assunta ordered.
"Comet, Fire Spin to defend and then Sunny Day!" Ashlyn countered.
Comet used Fire Spin to protect herself from the Poison Powder. Then she launched a bright orb into the sky and the sky became brighter which would boost up her Fire-type attacks.
"Now Heat Wave then Flame Charge!"
Comet immediately used Heat Wave, which made Venomoth lower itself to the ground. Then Comet was covered in flames and rammed into the Poison type Pokémon. Venomoth fainted with swirls in its eyes.
"Venomoth is unable to battle! Rapidash wins!"
"Well done, Comet!" Ashlyn cheered.
"Neigh!" Comet neighed happily.
"Three times the charm ladies and gentlemen. Ashlyn still has three more Pokémon while Assunta has lost three. Can Assunta make a comeback?"
Assunta returned Venomoth, "You were great, Venomoth," She sent out her fourth Pokémon, "Flareon!"
"Flareon!" Flareon appeared on the field.
"Good job Comet," Ashlyn returned Comet and let out her next Pokémon, "Tynan!"
Tynan howled when he appeared on the field.
"Lycanroc versus Flareon battle...begin!"
"Flareon, use Flamethrower!" Flames burst from Flareon's mouth and headed straight towards Tynan.
"Tynan, dodge!" Tynan dodged the Flamethrower attack.
"Flareon, use Dig!" Flareon dug into the ground.
"Double Team and Stone Edge!" Tynan created copies of himself. Then he stomped one of his paws on the ground, causing pointed light blue rock pillars to appear out of the ground. Suddenly Flareon burst out of the ground and tumbling across the field.
"Flareon, are you okay?" Assunta called out.
Flareon got up slowly as it winced, "Flare-Flareon. (I'm-I'm okay.)"
"Okay then. Use Sand Attack!" Flareon summoned a small tornado of sand that headed towards Tynan.
"Rock Throw!" Tynan released circular multi-colored waves from his body, white orbs of aura appear in front of itself, before rocks form inside the orbs, leaving a white glow around the rocks. Combining the rocks with the Sand Attack as well. Then he shot the rocks towards Flareon.
"Flareon, dodge!" Flareon kept trying to dodge the rocks, but a few more hit it before creating a dust cloud.
"Flareon!" Assunta cried out.
When the cloud disappeared, it showed Flareon with swirls in its eyes.
"Flareon is unable to battle! The victory goes to Lycanroc!"
Tynan howled at his victory.
"You rock, Tynan!" Ashlyn cheered.
Tynan chuckled and smiled at Ashlyn's words.
"What a battle folks! Ashlyn's Midnight Form Lycanroc sure did great against Flareon! Now Assunta is down to two Pokémon! What will her next Pokémon be?"
Assunta returned Flareon, "You did your best, Flareon," She let out her next Pokémon, "Graveler, let's go!"
"Graveler!" Graveler appeared on the field.
Ashlyn returned Tynan and let out her fifth Pokémon, "Come on out, Glaceon!"
"Glaceon!" Glaceon appeared on the field.
"Glaceon versus Graveler battle...begin!"
"Graveler, Tackle!" Graveler tucked its arms and legs and rolled towards Glaceon.
"Glaceon, dodge and use Blizzard!" Glaceon jumped out of the way and releases a gust of cold air from her body, causing snow to start falling. Graveler stopped rolling and winced at the cold.
"Now Icicle Spear!" Glaceon fired sharp, thin, spear-shaped ice shards from her mouth at Graveler.
Graveler winced as the ice hit it.
"Graveler, try to dodge!" Assunta ordered.
But Graveler couldn't.
"Ice Fang!" Ice formed in Glaceon's mouth, and she ran towards Graveler. Then she bit him on the arm, incasing the rock Pokémon in ice.
"Graveler!" Assunta called out.
"Iron Tail!" Glaceon's tail glowed a metallic color and she slammed it into Graveler, breaking it out of the ice and rolling across the field, creating a dust cloud.
When the dust cleared, it showed Graveler with swirls in its eyes which meant that it fainted.
"Graveler is unable to battle! The victory goes to Glaceon!"
"Alright Glaceon!" Ashlyn cheered.
"Glaceon!" Glaceon smiled.
"Graveler just couldn't handle the cold. Now Ashlyn and Assunta are down to their last Pokémon. Which one with win this last battle?"
Assunta returned Graveler, "You were great, Graveler," She sent out her last Pokémon, "Ivysaur!"
"Saur!" Ivysaur appeared on the field.
"Ninetales!" Ninetales appeared on the field.
"Ninetales versus Ivysaur battle...begin!"
"Ivysaur, use Leech Seed!" Assunta ordered.
Ivysaur launched a seed that head straight towards Ninetales.
"Ninetales, Fire Spin!" Ninetales let out a tornado of fire from its mouth and it destroyed the Launch Seed and hit Ivysaur.
"Ivysaur!" Assunta called out.
When the flames died down, it showed Ivysaur with a few burns on it.
"Quick Ivysaur, use Venoshock!" Ivysaur's flower glowed white. It then fired multiple dark purple blobs of poison from its flower at Ninetales.
"Protect!" Ninetales projected a green colored barrier in front of herself, causing the blobs to bounce off the barrier.
"Now Hypnosis." Ashlyn commanded.
Ninetales's eyes glowed red, then Ivysaur's glowed red before it started feeling drowsy and fell asleep.
"Ivysaur, please wake up!" Assunta called out.
"Zzzzzz." Was Ivysaur's response.
"Ninetales, Incinerate combined with Will-O-Wisp!" Ashlyn ordered.
Ninetales's attack combined and shot towards the sleeping Ivysaur who soon got hit both fire attacks. Once the flames were gone, Ivysaur let out a puff of smoke and fainted.
"Ivysaur is unable to battle! Ninetales wins!" The referee announced, "The victory goes to Ashlyn Ketchum of Pallet Town!"
"And that's it, ladies and gentlemen! She's done it! Our Indigo League winner is...Ashlyn Ketchum from Pallet Town! Our youngest winner ever, an 11-year-old girl has won the league! Congratulations, Ashlyn Ketchum and your Pokémon!"
The crowd cheered loudly for their winner. Ashlyn was shocked. She couldn't believe it: she had won the Indigo League!
Ninetales went over to her trainer and nuzzled against her. Ashlyn wrapped her arms around Ninetales's neck, "Great job, Ninetales! We won!"
"Ninetales! (Yeah, we did!)" Ninetales yipped.
Tesla also joined the hug, "Raichu! (You were awesome!)"
Ashlyn smiled, "All of you were awesome."
It was true. She was able to win the Indigo League because she believed in her Pokémon and her Pokémon believed in her.
