Chapter Four

Sleep tight my little baby do not be scared even though the wicked man come in the darkest of the night I will be beside you to protect you.

-J.OMA

“So How did you feel when you woke up” My Therapist Ms Helen asked after I narrated the whole dream.

“I wasn't really scared about the dream, what made me scared was the fact that Morningstar has the same eye colour as the child in my dreams” I looked straight at her as I responded.

“ Morningstar is the new boy in your school right ” She asked, jotting down.

“Yes” I blushed answering her question.

“What is your feeling towards him” She asked, crossing her legs.

“I.. I feel curious about him and this familiarity that is alarming. I always want to be with him and I want him to look at me differently” I took a huge breath after I was done.

“Interesting. I've been watching you for the past three years and this is my first time seeing you interested in a boy” Ms Helen said watching my body reaction as I fidgeted.

“I would advice you too take it easy and if you ever feel unsafe please report to Chris or to me” Ms Helen said, tucking her brown hair behind her ears..

“Alright” I replied, nodding

“Also don't do anything rash concerning the green eyed boy. Please”

“I won't” I assured her.

“That is all for know, feel free to come to me ” She said one more time showing me the door where Chris was waiting for me in the lobby. Ms Helen was the one that taught me how to control my powers, she is the only person beside Chris and Thea that knows about my inhuman self. When I was first picked up by Chris and I was severely traumatized and I was brought to her, she taught me a lot of things, bringing me out of my shell, I was really scared of loud things then that just the sound of the TV can make me cower in fear, we stopped our meetings six months ago when she saw that I was doing okay but we do have check up once every month as well as follow up.

“So how was it” Chris asked his face filled with worry.

“I'm fine ” I assure him as I knew he didn't want me to become the scared little girl I was when I first arrived.

“I hope so” He said, hugging me.

I was so grateful that Chris was the one that found me, his family has been really good to me even after seeing my not so human self. I hoped that I could one day repay them for all the good things they had done for me.

I seriously regret my decision of following charity to the party because right now I was having a one on one session with the devil. I had to seat down quietly while Thea rub and pat my face all in the name of make up. This was the deal Thea had with me, that she would let me go to the party if only she applies make up on me and dress me up. I totally regret my decision because for two hours I've been sitting down and my ass was killing me and after this I have to still wear the clothes she prepared. Just because she is a make up artist doesn't mean I get to be a text subject, anyway she has been trying to use me as a model for the past years but I always rejected her now she has her hands on my skin I'm sure she wasn't letting go.

“Stop frowning and whining. It looks as if our new neighbor is having a party” Thea rubbed lipstick on my lips gesturing to the noise coming from the other side.

“Really, I didn't even notice” I said excitedly.

“Is that the party you are going too” Thea asked rubbing some powder on my face.

“I don't know, Charity would be here any minute. Are you still not done Thea” I grumbled.

“Quit grumbling. I'm done” Thea said, spraying some kind of perfume on my face.

“What is that” I asked Thea coughing.

“Finishing spray” She said getting up.

“Now run along into the bathroom and change into the clothes”She shooed me away .

“Thea the skirts is too short and too much skin is showing” I shouted from the bathroom.

“Come out girl, let me see”

I came out from the bathroom wearing a white V neck sleeveless plain crop top and a short pink elastic waist skirt with an ankle length white boots.

“It Horrible, too much skin and it's pink” I cried out

“No Eleven you look good, All the guys would be looking at you tonight. Don't forget your jacket” Thea said pointing at the jacket on the bed, winking at me.

“I don't want people looking at me I'm going to change”

“No you can't. Please for me” Thea said using her puppy eyes that I couldn't say no to.

I stood in front of the mirror still accessing the clothes and the shoes, the heels were a little bit high. The skirt looked so short while my top showed too much skin. I tried to touch my hair but my hands were slapped away by Thea.

“Do you know how long it took me to style this your black Afro curly mess you call hair. So please don't touch it.” Thea pleaded.

“Okay” I replied resigning myself to my faith.

The doorbell rang and I knew it was charity, picking up my pink jacket from the bed and my purse, I moved outside waving Thea goodbye.

Charity whistled saying “Girl you look good”

“You don't look bad yourself” I said pointing at her navy jumpsuit that looked really good on her. Even if she was a pastor's daughter they dressed really well not as conservative as I expected. Thea owned a boutique in town so a lot of our church members shopped at her store.

“So where is the party at” I said hanging my purse on my shoulder.

“Not that far” She shrugged

“So are we not using your car” I pointed at the car she parked in front of my house.

“No just come with me” She said dragging me along with her.
