The Hypothesis

Zev didn't ask to go home until an hour later. They went straight to the mansion in his car with his friends. During the trip, Zev didn't let go of Jody's hand while driving. The girl smiled.

"Why don't you teach me how to drive, love?" asked Jody.

Zev quickly looked at his girlfriend and then  back at the road.

"So, you'd like to learn how to drive?" Zev asked.

Jody nodded. "When you drive, you look cool," said Jody. "I'm the only one of my city friends who doesn't know how to drive."

"Why? You have a car, don't you?"

Jody said, "Because I was weak at the time. I leaned on my friends and parents before, but only have you now."

Zev squeezed Jody's hand and then kissed her. "You mean you've gotten stronger?"

Jody asked, "Shouldn't it? I should be brave. I've been through so much since I came to Rivendell."
