A Quick Reprieve(18+)
It's been an entire day and Nexus never woke up. She'd been sleeping since two nights ago, and even when we rummaged through her belongings again her eyes didn't even flinch. To my surprise, however, she had nothing unusual in her bag, not even a weapon.
Assuming she was who she claimed, then she either had too much trust in us, or her intelligence was overstated. What's even more confusing was Maiden's compliance, even though from what I'd gathered, she wanted the Enforcers dead.
'If Nexus was an Enforcer then Maiden would've definitely killed her by now. Unless their agreement disavows her from harming them directly.' That would explain why she wanted my help in getting rid of them, even though she could easily do it herself. 'Let's worry about it when she wakes up.'
