Blade!!

*2 days later*

I finally have enough evidence of human trafficking the govt. officials themselves use to sell to the vampires. But since they were not content with it, they started dealing with crime lords. In USA, Kingpin was specially favored. But with him taken down, they have to lean on the minor ones.

Conducting research on the ash traces and blood extracted, I was able to discover exactly what these are. They seemed to be a mutation, but it was done magically ages ago. The only traces of magic left in them now is the revitalization through those magic circles or the overdependence of lunar element. Or should I say, the Dark Lunar element. Moon is basically reflecting sunlight, but it's interaction with dimensional energies present in the atmosphere divides it into the holy and dark categories.

Vampires do not have a circulatory system in them. The blood they drink spreads throughout their body, providing nourishment to muscles. That's why they can even live with their head chopped off. The blood spread throughout them acts as a medium of spreading the dark element in them leading to their enhanced physique and healing, and also acts as a pathogen, mutating someone they bite as well. It is specially effective on a full moon.

But it is also their weakness. Since blood spreads throughout their body channeling dark energy, the sunlight purified by dimensional energy in the atmosphere burns them to dust. Silver is a conductor of the light side of moon magic, leading to them being weak to it. Garlic though is like torture for them as the enhanced smell does not appreciate it at all. Kind of like humans to CO2.

Thanks to this, I was able to make enchanted weapons with different amount of holy magic enchanted on them, to deal with Dracula. I know he's awake, but still don't know where he is. I could perform a magic search, but he would probably get alerted. Since the Hell-spawn which was spotted near New York is still hiding despite Oracle's constant search, I'm not sure if Dracula also has a base that can hide him.

I have also been able to create blood trees, a type of tree which grows pretty quickly and it's fruits and even branches can provide nutrition to a vampire for months. Now why would I do this when I'm making sure Dracula dies, making other vampires dying with him? Turns out, that's not the truth.

The title of Dracula is passes to the strongest ancient lord present in the era. And a Dracula's strength comes from the no. of followers it has magically. So if a vampire doesn't follow him, they won't die on his death. Plus, however they are, a mass genocide is wrong. I can sense they qualify as earthlings, hence being the son of Mother Earth herself, I have a responsibility as well.

The Dracula who is awake right now is a problem, hence I'm preparing for him, I will make a deal for the blood trees with the rest of the tribes. Aside from that, all defenders got vampire hunting sets. Each one of them is a silver-adamantium mesh suit for protection with micro-dimensional reactors and miniature arc reactors. They store and charge the dimensional energy for magically enhanced solar repulsors while the later is for UV-repulsors. DD, Electra and Katana have 2 silver adamantium blades each, which could be charged with UV as well. DD's are two short swords, while the other two use 1 sword primarily while other is backup. The Spider's, IF and Power Man have silver adamantium gauntlets with Wolf claws. I also gave the Spider's the four spider legs on back for higher attack and mobility. Laura gets a layer of silver-adamantium nanobots cover her own claws, while Jean and Wanda are already sorcerers so they don't need anything else.

Oracle was able to find Blade. I could technically take care of the Vampire problem myself, but more contacts are always nice. He was currently in a jail cell in Buffalo because of the vampires tricking him into killing one of the officers there. I guess Hannibal King should also be there to get him out then. I wonder if he's Wade's long lost brother or something?

Anyway I called today's meeting and said, "Oracle is able to find a professional vampire hunter to help us get to the core of our problem. Right now, he was tricked by one of them and has gotten arrested. I and Nightclaw will be going to free him out. There are some more vampire hunters we should be able to contact. We will group up after getting in contact with them." They nodded and started going to the nearby areas to mildly patrol so they have enough to spare for any Vampires or other trackers. Me and Laura boarded the Nightowl and headed straight to Buffalo to greet them.

*3rd POV*

Inside an interrogation room in one of the stations in Buffalo, you could see a man cuffed to the seat with cuffs stronger than the normal one they normally use. He looks up towards the door and right then it opens with a few officers walking in. They looked completely normal if not for the huge fangs they were showing while grinning. The man still looked into their eyes without an ounce of fear.

"You have been a problem for quite a while Blade. Just wait a bit more, we will make sure you die by the hands of these humans you so dearly wished to protect." The female vampire said to him, while the other two were beating him, yet he stared at her unfazed. Just then the gate and the window broke simultaneously and a pair of man and woman came from both of them. The two vampires beside Blade were taken care by the men who then turned towards the third one who was talking, while the female ones broke Blade's handcuffs, and then just stared at each other vigilantly.

The two men took care of the vampire as well, while one looked at the other with a bit of caution, the other was calm.

Blade also sensed this and realized they were both different parties. The calm one said, "We are here to rescue Blade, I take you are here for the same reason?". This was, of course Enigma. Both him and Nightclaw were currently in a ninja outfit different from their uniforms.

"Yes we are. Who are you two?" The other man, Hannibal King asked.

"We can discuss that later. We need to head to the roof to escape first." Enigma said.

"I need my weapons." Blade interjected.

"Already got them. They are in my glider on the roof. Make your way there, I will mislead the police for a while." Enigma said and left.

"Let's go." Nightclaw said and ran towards the stairs. Blade immediately ran after her while the other two just looked at each other. They were still suspicious but decided to follow them for now.

They made their way to the helipad on the roof and seeing a futuristic looking vehicle. King said, "Does that even fly?"

"Yes, now strap in." Laura said and took the pilot seat. The other three were even more confused but decided to play along. Enigma made his way to the roof as well and took shotgun. Laura closed the hatch and took flight while Oracle set it to stealth mode.

Enigma looked at Blade and asked, "Are those all of them?"

"Yes." He replied checking his stuff.

"Good, you guys got a stop?" He asked looking at Abigail and Hannibal. Abigail still didn't trust them but Hannibal told him the address, much to her dismay.

*3rd POV end*

They soon laded in front of the mansion Hannibal has set their base in. After they got out, Blade turned around and said, "You already know but anyway, I'm Blade. A vampire hunter."

"I'm Hannibal King and this is my partner Abigail. We are vampire hunters as well." Hannibal introduced himself and looked at the other two.

Suddenly the ninja costumes we were wearing faded out as if they were a illusion, with the two of us standing in our costumes.

"I'm Enigma and this is my partner Nightclaw. We are from the Defenders. We had a confrontation with vampires and after finding about Blade, we rushed to him." Enigma said, leaving them surprised.

They knew about them, especially Enigma's and Spiderman's fights which were recorded during the Kingpin raid.

"Woah, I definitely wasn't expecting you. Let's go and talk inside. It may look like a normal mansion from above but below it were many people present. Some were practicing the weapons, while other's were scientists were doing research on creating more weapons or acids to damage a vampire.

"This is pretty impressive." Blade said looking at them, which in turn got the attention of everyone else. They knew of their leader's mission about Blade but they were surprised seeing two more people. Though the NYPD covered most of the Defender's acts, especially when Enigma and Kingpin were at war, the black market had all the information. And Enigma and Nightclaw were listed at the most brutal of them. Their group had gotten occasional news from the black market so they had both, respect and fear for them.

"We mostly do research and manufacturing on weapons and repellents on vampires in here. On that note, are you two the only ones coming here?" Hannibal explained and then asked Enigma.

"I just needed your consent." I said.

"That's fine. The more the merrier, especially with the problem we are about to face." Hannibal said.

After a while, the rest of the Defenders landed through the carrier. I now call them the X-Wings. We didn't teleport as it isn't necessary for now. After introducing ourselves, Hannibal started talking about the main problem.

"Well, right now everybody here knows that the actions of Vampires are getting bolder and bolder. But it is actually worse than human trafficking's from senators or gangs."

"What do you mean?" Power Man asked.

"As we discussed before, the Vampires are divided by hierarchy. And their 'king' has rose from his slumber and is planning something." Hannibal said.

"Wait 'king'. You don't mean.." Blade said but was cut-off by Hannibal.

"Yeah... Dracula's back. Right now, all the scientists here are actually figuring out a permanent way to get him into his slumber. Eternally. Dracula intends to make the Vampire clan known to the world and takeover humans of USA. Then he will start gathering the rest of vampires all over the world under him." He explained. Great, just another 'I'll rule the world guy'. Though technically, he's the first we will be facing as a team. I saw my share of these guys under Kamar Taj.

"Dracula's strength depends on the number of followers under him. Right now, his influence is about to reach half of USA. So stopping him right now is very important. His combat capability will also be leagues above the normal ones, and he happens to be a sly old coot , so we need to be careful." Hannibal finished.

Everyone silently digested the info while I was reviewing the files Oracle collected on the normal humans or other gangs that work under the Vampire clan. I ruled out about ten important ones. I will send my clones to two of these 10 and the rest to minor ones, to get the info. Interrogation or mind reading. I would interrogate all of them, but I need to stay focused on the raid we were planning on Dracula's possible base. I didn't want anything happening out of my plan at all costs, so paying attention is necessary.

For the raid team, it will be Hannibal, Abigail, 5 of their team members, Blade, me, DD, Silk, and Katana. Scarlet Witch will be going with IF, Electra, Power man and Jewel to get information from the left 8 guys. Phoenix, Spiderman, Arachnid, Ghost Spider and Nightclaw will be staying at their base in case of emergency. If Dracula really is a sly coot, then let him be. And so the hunt begins!
