Back at their Maplewood Farm, as usual, Patton was dutifully guarding the yard, while Rommel was off on his own adventures.
Wenjay prepared some dog food for Patton and filled Rommel's bowl with cat food before heading back to his room. He had recently bought a few e-books on criminology from an online bookstore and was planning to spend the night studying.
Titles like "An Overview of Investigation", "Forensic Science", and "Criminal Psychology" might not seem lengthy, but they were packed with complex theories that made them a tough read. By 11 PM, Wenjay had only managed to get through a few chapters. The path to becoming a detective was indeed a long and arduous one.
Having skipped dinner and already digested his afternoon snack, Wenjay closed his e-books, yawned, and headed to the kitchen to whip up a late-night meal. He found himself missing Mingyoo's homemade noodles and dumplings. Nothing could be more comforting on a cool summer night than a bowl of warm, soupy noodles.
