Invitation

A few minutes passed, and the two conversed in the noisy room peacefully, speaking on various matters concerning their lives. During this time, Leo silently listened while Rachel ranted on. Without saying more than three words he already knew a lot about Rachel, her likes and dislikes.

Leo soon realized a fatal flaw in the laws of this world. A good-looking person, be it male or female, makes people automatically feel like he or she is a good person just because of their looks.

Stepping in to save Rachel coupled with his looks already made him her knight in shining armor. Her guard was down and all he needed to do was push his agenda forward.

"You are in college?" Leo said with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, I'm twenty. What about you?" Rachel responded with a look completely oblivious to Leo's intentions.

Hearing this Leo finally understood why he got such a feeling from her. Rachel was still young, innocent, and pure. Although not all twenty-year-olds were like this, exceptions existed and Rachel seemed to be one.

Leo frowned at this while unconsciously gazing at the table as if the system was a physical entity he could look at. At this moment he realized something very important that he had been overlooking.

He was the bad guy here. Or at least the system was trying to make him so.

[The concept of good and evil is too broad for the host to make a decision on this. Regardless of how kind the host is to some people, there will always be others who would still consider you an evil person. If your story to greatness is revealed to the world, you will attract enemies, but you will also attract fans. There is no such thing as good and evil. It's all about who is strong enough to push their motive to the forefront.]

Leo looked at the message and sneered in his mind.

This system was definitely made by the demon lord to lead people astray. Or at least that's what he thought at first, but soon the words of the system began making sense in his eyes.

[If you refuse to do it, someone else will. Do you believe that missing out on this opportunity will make you a better person?]

Leo frowned as he saw another message. Leaving him wondering if he was directly speaking to the demon lord who may just happen to be a keyboard warrior.

In the end, no matter how one looked at it, facts will always remain facts. The system was right; even if he refused the system somehow, someone else would be in his position, reaping all the benefits. Leo thought better him than someone else.

"Twenty-four. I'm Leo Wright, a junior associate of White Associates Law firm." Leo responded absent-mindedly, but Rachel's mind was blown away.

She just stumbled upon an accomplished young, good-looking guy on her first day in the bar. What are the chances of her meeting someone so amazing?

Wow!

"That's really cool. I just didn't think lawyers would be willing to get involved in scuffles like this." Rachel said following which Leo laughed at her words.

This explains why this strange man who saved her was still in an expensive suit.

Rachel thought.

"Sometimes you just have to put everything behind. Morals, beliefs, and even religion to do what's necessary at a certain point in time." Leo picked those words slowly, allowing everything to sink into the mind of the lady.

Humans underestimate how receptive the mind is when picking up subliminal messages. While you consciously miss the message it is unconsciously registered in your mind. These subliminal messages dictate the actions of a person in certain given moments.

"I guess so. But it takes a lot of courage to put everything behind you and do things outside your comfort zone." Rachel said in a slightly lower tone and Leo looked her in the face with a slight smile on his face before leaning forward.

"Can you keep a secret?" Leo asked.

His words seemed to have some sort of mental effect on Rachel as the way she looked at him changed the moment he asked that question.

Girls are more emotional beings than logical.

Relationships are give and take and the fastest way to make one open up to you was by making them feel you are willing to open up as well. Once you relate with people long enough, you would notice a certain pattern and can take advantage of it, if skilled enough.

"This is not my thing. I had to come here since it was related to a case, but apart from this, I have never visited a bar alone." Leo said with an honest look on his face but in reality, he was simply preying on her insecurities.

Rachel was an innocent girl and chances are that she would believe her handsome knight in shining armor who spoke with such an honest expression.

"Me too." Rachel said in elation. She had finally found someone who understood how she felt, and she couldn't help but be more comfortable around him.

Bingo!

Leo maintained a charming smile but in his mind, he wore a mischievous smile. His work wasn't done yet. Leo knew he still needed to push her a bit more to get the desired response, but he was getting there.

"I am more of an introverted kind of person, who remains in his shell for safety until recently. I decided to take that bold step forward and here I am, with someone amazing. I can say it's worth it."

If Leo's eyes could sparkle it would do so while he said those words. In fact, it was, at least in Rachel's eyes.

Rachel flushed red with embarrassment and lowered her face.

"Me too. I'm also introverted. I only decided to give this a try today. Likewise, I also feel really fortunate we met." Rachel responded.

"Great! Since we can both agree this is not the place for us to be, let's take this meeting somewhere else. What do you think?" Leo leaned in while speaking.

"Yeah, sure. I think that would be a lot better. But where can we go? I'm already feeling a bit tipsy." Rachel said with an approving smile.

Hmm…

Leo leaned back and put on a pondering look for a few seconds before his eyes brightened up as if he had come up with the most brilliant idea.

"We need a place where you can relax and talk. I would have said a hotel, but that's not proper. Why don't you come over to my place?" Leo asked with an innocent look.

Leo purposefully brought up the option of the hotel and killed the idea on his own before presenting a 'lesser' evil. That way Rachel would be more willing to accept the second option and feel that Leo had her best interest in mind.

To think his personality and profession would give him an edge when dealing with the opposite sex.

Leo had never explored his talent in dealing with women in the past. So he was quite shocked at how good he was at playing this game.
