The gigantic frame of the giant morphed man is different from the one that Curt and Jenny Mae have encountered on the ground floor of the association building.

This one has spikes on its back and its bald head seems to show the skull of the creature. From the way, the creature is dressed and the shape of its body, this one seems to be a female employee of the association.

Seeing the creature landing on the ground with a loud boom, the people in the surroundings suddenly squatted to the ground while looking at the giant in fear.

Curt's eyes squinted as he focused the LEP energy in them. Then after just 2 seconds, he suddenly lifted the short rifle in his hands and took aim.

Bang!

The sound of the rifle seems to have awoken everyone from their stupor and then a sharp glowing bullet suddenly penetrated the giant's skull through its eyes.

Blood splatters on the ground and it seems that the atmosphere suddenly turned silent. The giant staggered but it didn't fall to the ground, instead, it held its wounded eye and then roared in the air.

Then the roar was followed by a painful shriek as the giant suddenly glared in Curt's direction.

Jenny Mae who is standing beside Curt was also stunned but then regained her composure as she saw the giant looking at them. Then her eyes saw the smile on Curt's face. It was a smile of excitement when she is very familiar with.

She knew that he is excited to experience fighting as an esper. She also learned of his weakness before and knew that this would be a great chance for Curt to turn his life around.

But, the problem is that Curt is not an elemental esper but from the way she sees it, he is an augmenter. He could strengthen the things he holds and turns them into deadly weapons. Just like the glowing rifle bullet and what he did in that cleaning closet inside the association building.

"Curt, I think it's better if we both work together to fight that thing." Jenny Mae suggested.

Curt nodded his head. He knew that he could not show his talisman and his other ability in front of Jenny Mae. This would expose his other identity as the masked man. So fighting against a powerful giant using only his augmentation skill would be enough. He has already tested the strength of his augmented bullet, so his confidence in defeating that thing is high.

Jenny Mae suddenly steps forward and then glances at Curt behind her.

"I will be the vanguard, you will assist me from behind." She said then suddenly rushes towards the giant creature.

Curt did not think twice and quickly ran behind her with the short rifle on hand.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Curt began firing off bullets one by one, and not in a rapid shot. This is to make sure that he would be able to enhance each bullet he releases from the rifle.

Each time the giant would be hit by a bullet, it would stagger with deep wounds on its body. This thoroughly dumbfounded Jenny Mae was she did not expect that Curt's enhanced bullets would be that effective against the enemy.

When she got close to the giant, she suddenly saw a fist-size wound on the giant's chest which is slowly closing. She did not hesitate and waited for it to close. Jenny Mae suddenly extended her right hand and then a flame extended from her palm and suddenly turns into a flame spear.

Without a second thought, she suddenly stabs the tip of the spear on the wound and it began to sizzle as the blood burned and the wound began to cauterize.

"Aaargghh!"

The giant howled in pain as it suddenly sweeps its huge hands towards Jenny Mae, who suddenly jumps back and dodges the attack.

But the flame spear is still sticking on the giant's stomach making it howl in pain more.

Curt did not waste this chance and suddenly short out two bullets which were directed at the giant's remaining eye and forehead.

The giant suddenly stopped as its head was tilted upwards with a fist-size hole on its head which has exploded the back of its skull.

Then Jenny Mae also made her move to decapitate the stunned giant and make sure that it is dead. By controlling her firepower, she is able to fashion a flame dagger which is studied that the flame spear. Then using a technique, she was able to turn that flame dagger and make it rotate in her palm like a buzzsaw.

With this, the giant was decapitated and Jenny Mae's bloody figure stood up while her ample chest heaves heavily.

Curt who is standing not too far from her could not help but swallow his saliva upon seeing her gruesome yet heroic figure. Although she looks scary right now with her gruesome techniques, in Curt's eyes she is like the goddess of war and beauty.

The stunned look on Curt's eyes, made Jenny Mae feel a bit proud of herself right now. But then she suddenly shifted her gaze to the side of the building and saw a few figures running outside from the lobby.

"Everyone stand your ground! We will fight those two here!" shouted a tall woman.

But when her eyes landed on the dead giant on the ground, she showed astonishment in her eyes. But she did not have time to be stunned as behind their group are two giants who are chasing after their team.

Some of her teammates are wounded so they immediately ran to the back and the rest prepares themselves to face the two giants.

As soon as a figure appears in the lobby and before it could jump and break the glass wall of the lobby, a bullet was suddenly fired from behind the group.

Bang!

Then they saw the giant who is already in the air seemed to have hit a wall and was thrown back towards the rubble behind it.

Then another gunshot was heard and the other who has successfully landed on the ground was also hit and was sent rolling to the ground.

Everyone suddenly turned their attention to the young man standing atop the body of the dead giant. He looks like an ordinary soldier, but everyone knew from those glowing bullets that this person is an esper.

"Watch out!" shouted Jenny Mae as she suddenly jumps up and then with an accurate throw flings a fire spear towards another giant figure who suddenly jumps out of a window from the second floor.

"How many of these things are there?" asked Jenny Mae as she landed on the ground and run to the side of the woman they called Leader.

"I don't know. We were informed that there are only three. But when we entered that 3rd floor we were ambushed… many… many soldiers have died." said Leader with a grim expression on her face.

Jenny Mae also showed a concerned look on her face, she knew that those soldiers have sacrificed their lives for the city and it was their duty. But she could not help but feel sad for them.

"The one who is causing this is still in the building, I think," said Leader with uncertainty.

However, she knew of the danger they are going to face, so no one dares slack at this time. Then suddenly, a few gunshots from behind the group were heard and they all saw three more giants falling down to the ground.

"Is this a desperate attack from the MPMA?" Jenny Mae asked.

"I think so. It's like a desperado move. I think those people that have transformed are not just random people. They might be planted spies by that organization and this is their last recourse to destroy the city." said Leader as she tried to analyze the real situation.

Hearing her words, the others standing beside her nodded their heads.

"By the way, who is that guy?" suddenly Leader asked with a deep curiosity in her eyes.

"Oh, him… he is… he is someone I knew who just awaken his esper power."

"What? It's a bit late don't you think? He is already this old… How could his power grow further?"

"I… I don't know… I guess, he didn't need it to grow further…" Jenny Mae said with a sheepish smile while pointing at the dead giant on the ground.

"You guys should help… I'm running out of energy…" suddenly Curt said with a weak tone.

He then weakly sits atop the dead giant he is standing on while resting his arms on the short rifle in his hands.

From his words, the rest of the espers and soldiers became alarmed.

Since he could one-shot those giants, they feel at ease at last. However, they now knew that this esper has limited energy and is only a newbie. So they are not out of the danger yet.

When Curt has rested, they suddenly saw a few giants suddenly jumping from the building windows. Now there are multiple giants that suddenly appear.

Unknown to them, Curt is calmly writing on the giant's skin some glyphs. Then as he stopped writing, invisible energy that only Curt could see suddenly scanned the whole area towards the building. Then he could see everything inside the building. He then noticed a figure standing on the rooftop.

If he uses his normal vision he would not be able to see her. But this type of glyph that he just used is a type of life form detector which has the ability to locate any life form within its radius.

From what he could see only that figure is left and inside the building, there are no other giants left. Then it only means that those inside the building are all dead.

Curt was a bit disturbed by this scene, but somehow his heart seems to have accepted it. He knew that this is because of the other memory inside of him.

The ground was suddenly ablaze with firepower and energy projections from the espers and soldiers as they fought off the giants.

In this chaos, Curt suddenly moves to the side of the giant's corpse and carefully directed his gaze at the top of the building. He needs to be calm and unnoticeable so that he could accurately hit his target.

Then suddenly, he noticed a flying lightning ball. As his concentration is on the rooftop of the building he did not notice this projectile which looks like it accidentally fired towards a giant that was able to dodge it.

Curt did not notice the energy ball which looks like a powerful dark chaotic lightning compressed into a ball, but those who saw it is sure that if he is hit by that thing, it is unknown if he could still be alive after or be burned to death through electrocution.
