Pretence

Blame the alcohol for clouding his mind and giving in to temptation.

First time experiences weren't always pleasuring to everyone. It had started off painful to her, which was evident to him due to her face crumpled with discomfort. But after some moments, they had eventually moaned together as their bodies united as one. While he regretted at first, he realized the contentment that had come next had been particularly satiating to her. He felt that they had a physical bond to each other, even if they didn't love each other. Her beauty had enticed him to take her on the comfy sofa of the suite, where they had been sitting together. He was probably a jerk for thinking that way, but as much as it was hurting to her, he had enjoyed it. He felt good, and he felt bad that he had been so comfortable doing it with her.

Yu Bing was greedy and hungry, and scooped her up in his arms to continue the deed in the comfort of the king-sized bed of the suite. When they both woke up again later, he was still hugging her as they lay bare under the sheets. Forgetting who they were, they engaged in another kiss which resulted in her straddling him, and resuming their unfinished business the night before.

She gazed at him lovingly with her large puppy eyes as their bodies became one. "Yu Bing…it hurts," she groaned.

"Do you want me to stop?" he asked. She shook her head. "I just want you to be my first. I won't regret what happened last night, and um, now."

"You know I like someone else, and you still gave yourself to me willingly," he said.

"We were both drunk," she said, although she knew that was not a good reason. Furthermore, the alcohol should have already left her system, but she was still in his room, and it had not ended with their one-night stand. So to be fair, it wasn't just a one-night stand since it was already morning, and they were doing it again.

"Um, I...." he stammered. He felt so ashamed of having preyed on her, given he had already seen her while they were both children. "I hope... it felt good... Being your first time..."

She blushed, not replying him. After a few moments had passed and their bodies had pulled away from each other, she leaned back in bed and asked, "Yu Bing, are you going to steal the bride for real?"

The minute the words left her mouth, she felt awful for having said her mind. She quickly added, "I won't mind what happened last night. I know that you like her. I won't interfere in your business, Yu Bing. I know you too well. Once your mind is set on something, you don't give up easily. This secret is safe with me."

He smiled at her understanding, but then she put on her best smile and asked him, "Will you bring me to the engagement party?"

He looked at the clock on the bedside table, to realize it was already ten in the morning. Lu Lu's engagement party would have already commenced.

"Why do you want to go to the party?"

She pouted and said wilfully, "I don't care. You have to bring me."

"You'll have to wait till I finish washing up first." He got up from the bed, and she was left gasping in silence at the sight of his tall, nude body together with his manhood, heading towards the bathroom. Meh, she thought. Whoever gets that is one lucky babe.

He strode past the sofa confidently on his way to the bathroom, and frowned at its state, covered in stains from the results of their activity the night before. A little tip would take care of it.

"Congrats, Miss Lu Lu," she shook Lu Lu's hand firmly, followed by that of her fiancé. "And you too, Superman."

"Thank you, Miss Yang. We hope that when the time comes, we can have the wedding reception and banquet at your father's hotels."

"Sure, I'll get our VIP sales representative to call you," she smiled, and then she heard someone call her. Yu Bing emerged with two glasses of wine.

"There you are." He handed one to Myra, and placed his other hand on her shoulder as he drank from his glass. "I see you're getting around really well."

Lu Lu smiled courteously, "How long has this been going on? I really have to admit that I'm glad for you. You two complement each other." She faced her fiancé. "Mr. Yu is my high school classmate."

Yu Bing put down his empty wine glass and took the empty wine glass from Myra, setting them down on the table. Taking Myra's hand in his romantically, he smiled deeply and said, "We've just started dating. Congratulations to you too."

She shivered a bit when she heard him say that he was dating her, and she wondered if he was pretending to date her to make Lu Lu jealous, but Lu Lu seemed genuinely happy that Yu Bing and her were dating, so she just smiled sweetly and walked away with Yu Bing.

"Are you trying to make her jealous?" she whispered once they were alone in a corner. "She isn't reacting."

Yu Bing shrugged. "We won't know what will happen in the future, am I right?" And then he lifted his lips to her ear and whispered sensually, "There's one matter I need your help in, Myra."

A shiver went down her spine, but she smiled adorably and said, "I'm listening, Yu Bing."

"I need you to go on a series of dates with me. I'll compensate you, but please don't see it as me buying my way with everything. It's my father's idea, and my issues with Lu Lu already brought a lot of rumours that affected Yi Xiang Yuan's reputation. Especially the fact that Lu Lu was about to get engaged at that time and the public sees me as a third party and a second generation heir that uses money to get everything I want. I just need you to put on a convincing act that will help both your father's business and my father's, and after a few months perhaps, we can break it off and we can say we aren't suitable for each other."

She couldn't believe her ears. The confident and intelligent Yu Bing and the university heart rob wanted her to pretend to be his girlfriend? If only this was a dream she would never wake up from, and she could one day be Mrs. Yu...

"Are you okay with the plan, Myra? I won't force you if you aren't comfortable with it," Yu Bing said, while still holding her hand.

"I don't mind," she quickly answered. "I'll do it. But I don't want you to compensate me with money."

"What do you want then?"

"I don't know yet," she smiled coyly. "Why not try and see how it goes?"

Yu Bing pointed to a white-haired old man with a young face among the crowd, who was staring at them. "Now, that man is one of my father's business associates. We have to act quick, now."

"We'll have it your way," she said, and before she could react, he had his arms around her, hugging her tightly and was kissing her passionately. While his lips was on hers, she could only think of one thing: how she wanted to belong to Yu Bing.

She panted when he pulled away from her lips. The man walked away with a few laughs. "We'll have more chances for that," she said boldly. "Just an act. An act."

Yu Bing felt aroused by the kiss, but at the same time, puzzled why both Lu Lu and the older man were watching him, and yet Lu Lu had shown no reaction on her face. Then he saw Superman walk towards her, and immediately a smile spread across her lips. A sign of true happiness and being madly and deeply in love.

"Love, I wish to sing you a song," he said aloud, and the song was Savage Garden's Truly Madly Deeply.

"I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy.

I'll be your hope, I'll be your love, be everything that you need.

I love you more with every breath, truly madly deeply do

I will be strong, I will be faithful 'cause I'm counting on a new beginning.

A reason for living. A deeper meaning."

As Superman ended the song, Yu Bing could only feel devastation, coldness and emptiness in his heart. It followed with claps from the audience, and the couple engaging in a sweet kiss.

"There is a light at the end of the tunnel," he heard a female voice say. "Hope is not gone. There will be someone who loves you."

As he turned to face her, Myra gazed into his eyes and pressed her lips against his. While she kissed him, his pain from his unreciprocated love for Lu Lu seemed to fade away, and he saw a new ray of hope in Myra's eyes, although he was certain that what he and Myra had been the result of an impulse than true love.

She liked him, and they had intercourse in the heat of the moment, but she would grow up and graduate in a matter of years, and she would, too, find true love like Lu Lu and Superman.

While he would be single and alone, without anyone to care about him and his well-being. Nevertheless, her kiss soothed him like a painkiller, and he just wanted to indulge at the moment.

He wished the moment would not end, and in a flash, he had held her to the wall, occupied in kissing her back that he had really forgotten the purpose of what he was here for.

"It's not part of the plan," he told Myra as he broke the kiss between them.

"I just wanted to kiss you," she admitted shyly.

"Let's go for a walk," he said, and with her hand in his, led her carefully out of the hall.
